#2 Mozambican Cyclone and Article 17
Hello! This is Curly Thoughts with Hannah and Su! This week we are discussing Cyclone Idai and Article 17.Cyclone Idai hit Beira in Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Malawi between the 14th and 16th of March. As of when we record this on the 6th of April, there are over 750 deaths, over 900,000 people needing help with at least 500,000 needing emergency food. The death toll may rise given that the floods can cause waterborne diseases. This was one of the most devastating natural disasters in the area, and people still need help. If you can donate anything, food or money, to the victims they would greatly appreciate it. Some of the organizations supporting the disaster are the United Nations, the World Food Program and the International Red Cross. You can find a link in the description to these and more organizations. We are not journalists and we are not reporting on this incident, but we do want to bring in a broader discussion surrounding this incident.List of organizations taking donations:United NationsWorld Food ProgramSave the ChildrenCAREOxfamInternational Red CrossCatholic Relief ServicesMercy Corpse also spoke about Article 13.
