What does John mean when he says that the Word incarnate possessed a glory as the only one from the Father? We continue our study of John 1:14  by looking at John's association of glory with Jesus, with the Old Testament association of God's glory with redemption.

John uses the rich language of God's revelatory acts in the Old Testament to show how Jesus is the fulfillment and climax of God's covenantal acts to redeem and dwell with His people. 

John's statement in 1:14 that the divine, eternal Word of God has become flesh is a monumental encapsulation of the entire thrust of the biblical story. It also shows us the value of our own human nature as redeemed by God.
