#21: Shelter Management w/Shelly Simmons of Greenville County Animal Care
Episode 21 has arrived! This week, I’m talking about a really cool new app from Microsoft Garage Band project called FETCH! that ACO’s and shelter workers can use to help identify dog breeds simply by taking a photo of the dog! The app is really accurate and pretty darn fun to play with, plus it provides useful characteristic information on over 100 breeds! Exclusively for iOS (iPhone and iPad) at least for now, you can download the app by clicking on the link above. Best of all, it’s 100% free! Once you’re done playing with the FETCH! app, check out this week’s interview with Shelly Simmons, Director of Greenville County Animal Services in Greenville, South Carolina. Shelly manages a large staff at a municipal, open intake facility that accepts better than 20,000 animals per year. We discussed how she manages all that traffic as well as some unique and fun ways that she motivates and inspires her staff to keep working hard and stay focused! Shelly has some really enlightening and interesting info to share and I hope you’ll enjoy our conversation!
