Episode 44 Crisis to Courage for Men Podcast with Karen Bontrager
From “being in domestic violence” to a well-noted scholar in healthy relationships, ACC ICF coach, licensed therapist, and TBRI trauma-informed practitioner; laser-focused on building a world-wide Crisis to Courage trauma men’s movement starting with combat vets, who have pre-military trauma for an in-person group/online program; being a torch to millions of hurting fellas.    Karen Bontrager boldly shared her own crisis to courage story regarding the plight of men, which began as a researcher/undergraduate at George Mason University in a quest to understand healthy relationships. She, as a relationship coach, experienced a significant imbalance between platforms for male/female expression. It was discussed having a revelation regarding men implementing this incredible guy-honoring movement and society’s increasingly anti-masculine trajectory. This led to a licensure in therapy, becoming a trauma-informed, TBRI, Trust-Based Relationship Intervention Practitioner with a spiritual focus, which worked powerfully during a heated/serious situation.   She stressed a genocide of men coming, which has culminated over much time. Therefore, it is essential for good ones to rise up because hating fellas world-wide is the standard. It was suggested this inevitable evil can only be countered by courageous fellas, who have repented, surrendered to God, and will/do tell their stories.   (Karen designed a revolutionary wildly successful program called Crisis to Courage Counseling/Coaching TBRI Trauma-Informed Program for Men, tailored specifically for them, with guy-friendly language/instruction, and interactive/fun exercises, they fully enjoyed, respected, and could easily relate to with practical application in their lives).  Karen Bontrager, thank you, graciously. Episode 45 Crisis to Courage for Men Podcast Part II with Karen Bontrager
Karen Bontrager boldly shared her own crisis to courage story regarding the negative trends involved in this anti-male society, which is heading towards an all-out genocide of men. She discussed the importance of guys being strong, instead of cowering, or turning to anger, isolation, and any number of numbing solutions, in an unlikely encounter with two amazing young guys, who needed to hear a different narrative. Additionally, it was communicated that many ‘so-called’ men leaders are traumatized themselves with being effective at helping themselves, much less others. She encouraged any man listening to demonstrate courage by resisting passivity, staying accountable, doing the right thing despite anything to the contrary, and choosing to live expectantly.  Karen Bontrager, thank you, graciously. Episode 43 Crisis to Courage for Men Podcast with Brock Bevell
From being raised in a “heavy-handed home” with a strict religious upbringing to becoming a God-loving Husband/Father, Retired Police Officer, Director of Operations at Chase the Vase, Keynote Speaker, Creator of the Fight Like David Challenge, Drug and Alcohol Recovery Expert/Coach, and Host of the Chase the Vase Podcast, whose aim collectively is to heal traumatized men/women from a life of pornography, substance abuse, and PTSD by understanding their identity in Christ   Brock Bevell boldly shared his own crisis to courage story regarding the lack of male involvement in recovery. He said guys often communicate superficially, which prevents them from truly healing. (This forward moving story telling has become a significant aspect of his coaching work). After getting run over by a car, it led to a medical layoff, too much free time, and a destructive opiate addiction.  Brock indicated a man’s ego prevents him from hearing the voice of God, even though He is continually speaking. Despite his own obedience at times, he did hear Father clearly during a lengthy police chase with a dangerous intoxicated assailant, who was putting a whole community in harm’s way. This now, even wiser man said masculine men need to be more vulnerable, which requires them having a strong relationship with Christ. He suggested a daily schedule with positive activities helped him/clients resist pornography and other addictive behaviors. All of this, led to becoming a fierce advocate/addiction coach encouraging folks to pursue a similar higher calling; bringing great deliverance to their lives.      Brock Bevell, thank you, graciously. He shared his father was very physically abusive to the older siblings, but he/his brother received less severe “spankings.”  This now, pornography expert indicated how that addiction rewired his brain and others; preventing intimacy in adulthood. His absence brought sexual abuse into her life at age 8 from a close relative and led to similar traumas. Therefore, she stressed the importance of men being protectors and strong male role models to teach the next generation, like her son/others. This brave woman discussed not learning how to express emotion due to feeling unwanted, which caused Sharhonda to become promiscuous in wanting to have a baby, who would unconditionally love her. Throughout an incredible faith journey, she has learned to fully rely on God which has helped immensely in raising her son, which has included inviting good men, like a younger brother to help mentor Zechariah. She expressed having him in their lives has provided great relief because of no longer playing the role of both mom and father. It was communicated having these great examples of masculinity are needed to help him and other young men manage their emotions, even if dad is not in the picture. From being raised in a neglected home to becoming a God-honoring mother of an amazing 14-year-old gentleman, much-respected sister/ “auntie”/confidant in her Arkansas community, 4-year Army combat veteran serving in Iraq, culinary-trained home chef, who serves with love, talented artist, soon-to-be devoted wife, writer, and blossoming men’s advocate/leader/speaker/coach on Clubhouse/LI, whose aim is to heal traumatized men with a mother’s touchDuring Part II, Sharhonda boldly shared her own crisis to courage story regarding men feeling inferior and how their absence is stressing society, which was also her experience. She explained that even with great trauma: losing a mother at five, having a promiscuous father, and seeing the loneliness by granddad’s absence, she still recognized the importance of family; with father supporting his household and mother modeling love.  Sharhonda discussed having a standard despite the way she was raised, which caused her to be emotionally bankrupt from ever expressing love, or so she thought when raising Zechariah. (The real shift occurred when wisdom kicked in). This now, wise woman realized he needed to understand about adequately processing his emotions to one day lead his own home, instead of being angry or absent. Having this keen awareness began when she discovered her own worth as a single mother. She said great emphasis was put on preparing him to be a responsible young man through love and discipline. Throughout this growing and everchanging faith journey, Sharhonda has encouraged her beloved son to make better choices by focusing on his relationship with God, catering to a woman’s unique emotional needs by practicing with “mom,” enjoying life, and spending quality time with loved ones.         For more information, contact her at  On LI, here is the profile address:   linkedin.com/in/sharhonda-withers-47859221b Email sharhonda.withers2@gmail.com Stay tuned for the next exciting episode with TBD guest. Episode 34 Crisis to Courage for Men Podcast with Coach William Brooks
From being raised in a tough part of “LA” to becoming a faith-inspired Man, Husband/Father, Navy Veteran, World-renowned Speaker/Thought Leader, American Author, Ordained Minister, Youth/Men’s Advocate, Leadership Strategist, Management Tactician, and Fitness Expert, who stresses the importance of good parenting as a cure for societal ills Coach William Brooks boldly shares his own crisis to courage story as he speaks openly about ways men have “been feminized.” The mixed messages young guys receive without any positive male role models, are sending them into mass chaos. He discussed how these fatherless hurting males, whom he encountered in the military/prison, cannot balance their masculinity: provide/protect/emotionally competent side, along with its deleterious consequences.    He emphasized the importance of children seeing positive examples, which started in the Brooks family, and has continued in parenting with his lovely wife. It was stressed that absent or ill-informed fathers/mothers are not equipped to handle new/strange narratives, which are hurting children. Understanding this gap, he has focused great energy on developing successful youth mentoring programs. Coach William Brooks is now, working to give young men hope for a better future, despite their previous choices; even if it included criminal activity.  For more information, contact him at:  On LI, here is the profile address:  linkedin.com/in/coach-william-b-047b66bb Websites williambrooks.org  (Company Website) movingmindset.store  (Company Website) Phone 404.458.7779 (Work) Address 55 East Paulding Drive Dallas, Ga 30157 Email movingmindset@gmail.com IM movingmindset@gmail.com (Google Talk)Stay tuned for the next exciting episode with Coach William Brooks Part II. Episode 35 Crisis to Courage for Men Podcast with Coach William Brooks
From being raised in a tough part of “LA” to becoming a loving Husband/Father, Navy Veteran, World-renowned Speaker/Thought Leader, American Author, Ordained Minister, Youth/Men’s Advocate, Leadership Strategist, Management Tactician, and Fitness Expert, who stresses the importance of good parenting as a cure for societal illsIn Part II, Coach Brooks encouraged godly men “to share the love” by mentoring young guys in their sphere of influence. However, he stressed “men mentorship” is even lacking in religious leaders, like pastors and male group facilitators, who are too traumatized to help themselves, much less anyone else because of unresolved shame. It was suggested raw unfiltered stories are the vehicles to really heal hurting guys, like he and others.  William learned these painful, but important lessons while being imprisoned wrongly for ‘supposedly’ kidnapping his son, whom he had not seen in 3.5 years, but whose case was later dismissed after 6 months. (Note: this man paid all child support, without ever seeing him, and never had any mark on his spotless record prior to the event, as an honorable ROTC member and upstanding veteran of the Navy). He said forgiveness was pivotal in healing from that injustice, which prevented him from fathering his one son. Therefore, he encouraged dads listening to be present in their child’s life at whatever capacity available.   Later, the discussion turned to discussing a degradation of masculinity wrecking our military’s mission of defending American citizens. It was suggested this anti-masculine society has reached into all spheres, but returning to “one nation under God” is the only solution to restoring truth, and being a good male role model with younger guys, who are greatly confused about their identity.    For more information, contact him at:  On LI, here is the profile address:  linkedin.com/in/coach-william-b-047b66bb Websites williambrooks.org  (Company Website) movingmindset.store  (Company Website) Phone 404.458.7779 (Work) Address 55 East Paulding Drive Dallas, Ga 30157 Email movingmindset@gmail.com IM movingmindset@gmail.com (Google Talk)Stay tuned for the next exciting episode with TBD guest. From being raised in an alcoholic’s lifestyle of “poverty/shame” to becoming a devoted husband/father, faith-driven successful entrepreneur with an award-winning business as executive coach at Shield of Faith Coaching, world-renown podcast host, motivational keynote speaker, corporate business trainer, and deeply influential online thought leader, who believes men’s identities need serious restoration For Part II, Daniel discussed how the pain of “being vulnerable” in an earlier teenage breakup triggered a failed suicide attempt, but was later brought full circle with the incredible reconciliation of his father, dying from cancer in a hospital room. He encouraged men to not suppress emotions, which eventually manifests itself negatively, but to get comfortable with crying, which is a significant aspect of a guy’s masculine “DNA.” (This is now, material for his dynamic public speaking presentations with audiences world-wide). Daniel admonished men to courageously walk in their gifting, instead of playing a losing comparison game, that involves celebrating even the smallest accomplishments via gratitude. Special Edition: Men under Fire Part II From being raised in a “small town” to becoming a loving boyfriend, successful financial advisor, rising young trailblazer, and deeply aware thought leader online, who understands masculinity as being a balance of both toughness when warranted and compassion during other times, and who is not afraid to speak his mind Michael A. Rivera boldly shares his own crisis to courage story as he speaks openly about how it is to be a man in this “cancel culture,” which is silencing men world-wide. He discusses pushing past this societal “narrative;” ever increasing in strength by using his own voice in conducting intelligent research, drawing conclusions about truth by ignoring the 24/7 rhetoric, and engaging in respectful disagreement. Here he encourages others to do likewise, despite any backlash to the contrary during a time where masculinity is under fire.      In Part II, Michael discussed how the “main stream narrative” is suppressing men’s voices to such a great extent they are fearful to even speak out anymore. He explained different scenarios in his own life regarding the socialist trends he sees which are disturbing to him in America. He invites guys to have “open conversations,” instead of “allowing fear to hold you back” in an effort to maintain freedom, so that his and other generations can continue to engage in honest dialog which although at times may conflict, it ultimately becomes a tremendous source of growth for all involved.    On LI, here is the profile address:  linkedin.com/in/marivera7Stay tuned for the next exciting episode with TBD guest. From being a scared kid/new father to becoming an unstoppable man of faith, a devoted dad, leader, Director of Marketing, Brand Consultant, successful Workshop facilitator for college-age students in life transition, host of LI live stream called: “Discover Your Other Self,” with a complementary soon-to-be-released book going out to a world-wide audience    Reggie Waterman shares his own crisis to courage story, as he unexpectantly became a young father, who desperately wanted to “make the situation work” with an overly reliant and bitter girlfriend, that had a radically different upbringing, which has made co-parenting difficult to say the least.     He talked about needing to share his own story, and to avoid being a “statistic,” through awareness, but not “externally motivated” by all the chaos related to COVID, and the other pressing demands on guys. Additionally, Reggie admitted that parents in his generation haven’t prepared boys for life because they are over-sheltered, which involves the truth of displaying real masculinity.  This very successful fella discussed the pain associated with his two children not really knowing him as a man. In response, all his efforts in the virtual space have been on creating a “time capsule” of legacy for them to capture the Waterman name by impacting others through acts of service. He challenged the audience to think bigger, by impacting more than one, which is what he has done by putting his faith into action, which has and is opening entrepreneurial opportunities to carry his phenomenal “Discover Your Other Self” message globally to college-aged young people in Africa, and throughout the world.    On LI, here is the profile address:  https://www.linkedin.com/in/reggie-watermanStay tuned for the next exciting episode with TBD guest.
