Unmistakable Creative, Community and Compass with Srini Rao
Meet Srinivas Rao founder of UnmistakableCreative.com and 'Internet Famous' for living an unmistakably creative life, writing a best selling book "The Art of Being Unmistakable" and Host of the "Unmistakable Creative Podcast" interviewing some of the most awesome and interesting people! (Did we mention he is unmistakably creative?) Laura Monroe (new Marketing Director for Real Satisfied!) discovered and sent me Srini's Compass knowing I would love it and suggested we do a CTM with Srini! :) That girl knows me well! I have been connected with Srini for some time, a fellow Misfit, Srini embraces carving out his own path to success which he says is best found using a 'compass' vs a 'road map'. I had read The Compass before an agreed Srini has a unique perspective on the world, the not so straight path to success and entrepreneurship and in this Conversation That Matter, he shares his story with vulnerability and authenticity. Enjoy! *we did this #CTM while Srini was on the road to San Diego so audio only.

Jeff Turner on Values, Vision, And the Power of Information!
Deeply philosophical, insightful and one of the most articulate men I've ever had the pleasure of learning from, Jeff Turner has become someone I respect as a leader, a visionary, and a friend! He has an uncanny insight into the subtle nuances affecting any business' success, and can simplify even the most complex ideas for the rest of us. Earning his experience and wisdom over 25 years as a seasoned entrepreneur and successful senior executive in major corporations, he writes of himself: With degrees in psychology from Grace College (Bachelor of Science: Psychology) and Ball State University (Master of Arts: School Psychology), I look beyond the “how” of social and internet technologies to get to the “why” that unleashes their true power. I apply the beauty and science of creative communications not just to my own organizations, but to those of my clients. Through these practices, I’ve helped my companies and clients achieve measurable, practical, real-life success … time and time again. In this Conversation That Matters, Jeff addresses our shared passion for vision, values, culture, and as President of Real Satisfied the importance of monitoring your brand utilizing their customer satisfaction surveys and tools and why that matters.: An organization that has a clearly articulated vision that is real, and clearly articulated values that they actually live, has more power...achieves higher results, is more profitable and has higher levels of satisfaction. The value of this data is in improving the real estate industry... not in getting more leads. Amen! Finally, as you can see, Jeff is a beautiful writer, speaker and communicator ~ far better than I! Prepare to be enlightened! #ThoughtLeader ;)

Gratitude and Marketing Superpowers with Chase Thompson
I have been a long time fan of Chase Thompson's back to his "The Ticker" show days where he and his co-host Corri Corey did little 'Entertainment Tonight' style segments providing huge value to the Real Estate world sharing best apps, practices and business advice back when he was in the Mortgage broker business. You'll see immediately that he was MADE for broadcasting! Jump to today and Chase has been a busy man creating a number of new businesses including Notelinq, an online auction platform, to buy and sell performing and non-performing notes (like eBay for real estate notes) and his epic podcast NoteMBA which he launched in iTunes and was immediately recognized as 'New & Noteworthy'. You'll learn pretty fast that when Chase gets an idea, he drills down and researches every aspect for the best possible strategy! In our CTM, Chase and I have a pretty amazing conversation around our shared passion for marketing; The importance of STORY and he is the MASTER! Check out his LinkedIn piece about consistency being an absolute Super Power. (There is mention of underwear outside of his pants!) According to Chase, consistency is the 'NUMBER 1 THING!' You can read that post HERE. Speaking of SUPER POWERS and amazing stories, what Chase didn't mention is that he recently helped his wife deliver their own baby girl Violet in early February with no midwife or doctor! Both mother and baby are just fine thank goodness! We dig into our shared passion of Marketing and I asked the question: How do you build your audience and share a meaningful message? Chase says “ find the vehicle that fits you. Get to know the native platform that makes sense for you. Who is the tribe that you want to talk to? Dive in on ‘who you are’ ‘where you’re from’ and ‘what is really true to you’ whether that's on video, as a writer, or possibly daily emails. Whatever works for you! How do you do that RIGHT? 'Infotainment/Edutainment' Deliver the content in an entertaining way! Take a story and package it well! Content AND design both matter! “Stories are all that matter period.” ~ Chase Thompson At one point Chase and I dig into the topic of FAILURE. He has a very practical approach to dealing with failure that I believe we should all embrace. “Failure is neither good or bad, it’s just a thing...I Take what I can take from it." ~ Chase Thompson So how does Chase constantly come up with so many great new ideas? He commits the 1st hour of every day to himself first before anything else. He employs commitment and discipline and quoted James Altucher "The daily practice" who encourages the goal to improve 1% every day! Chase focuses on gratitude, humility generating 1o new ideas every day! Amazing! Stay with us to the end where Chase has one last great suggestion about how we can foster better relationships! I loved that we swung around to this GREAT IDEA! Thank YOU Chase!! To connect with Chase please follow him on Twitter at @Chaseth or feel free to email him with your marketing questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Thinking About: Jim Walberg Is Living a Magnificent Life!
So there's a reason I titled this post this way and its worth taking the time to explain: Anyone who follows Jim on Facebook will notice that he often writes posts with 'Thinking About: ....." and it usually includes some very human perception about life and how it should be lived. For example THINKING ABOUT… “Having cancer gave me membership in an elite club I'd rather not belong to.” - Gilda Radner. (I would rather not be a part of this “club”, however it has changed my life for the good.) So now you know two things about Jim. One: he's a thinker and he believes in sharing his positive attitude, and Two: He's a cancer survivor THRIVER! (Context is important) Jim and wife Ann Marie Nugent partner on their team The Bay Area Team (with Pacific Union – Christie’s International Real Estate) AND their 'Magnificent Life' as Jim refers to it. You will too when you hear how he is living his life fiercely and intentionally and how he does it! And as a testament to the level of commitment that Jim appears to bring to every area of his life, this will be his THIRD YEAR raising money in his Cycle For Survival ride on February 21st! As Jim writes: JOIN THE BATTLE WITH ME: This year is my 14th Anniversary! In 2001 I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer, and in 2004 I began another life or death battle, with UCSF Medical Center as my “home” for almost five months. Their medical professionals saved my life which has allowed me to live a life with manageable limitations. I have a lot less body parts than most, however it has been a miraculous journey. (Cycle For Survival Update: Jim and his team rode yesterday, February 21, 2015 and raised over $100,000! Congrats JIM!!Please join me in supporting Jim in his amazing endeavour and sponsor his team HERE!) This #CTM is rich with experience, insights and humility. I am honored to be able to share such a remarkable man with you. The truth is I should have just been quiet and listened. Stay with us until the end where we get to be truly touched. ❤ Connect with Jim @JimWalberg and prepare to be inspired! :)

Mashup of Mobile Agent TV & CTM from Banff
Most of you know I'm a bit of a conference junkie but probably not for the reasons you think. It's the opportunity to deepen my relationships and dig into amazing conversations like this one! We work in an industry I absolutely love because the people are so amazing! This week on CTM we partnered with Mobile Agent TV for a live on location mashup at The Banff Western Connection (hands down THE BEST conference in Canada that only occurs once every 2 years) for a convo with some of my favorite people Bill Madder (CEO Saskatchewan Real estate Association) Jeff Turner President North America RealSatisfied, and Kelley Skar Team Leader of UP Real Estate Group/Marketing Director Repree in Calgary. The theme of the day kept circling around 'the customer experience' (on the heels of a very interesting "Hear It Direct" session led by Jeff Turner); values; leadership, taking a stand and expecting more as an industry standard and the importance of COMMUNICATION! It was a very passionate conversation! ENJOY! (The conference stream can be found here #BWC2015 on Twitter ) (Our closing keynote cartoonist Hugh Mcleod (better known as Gaping Void) captured the conference brilliantly! AND I was blessed with a custom cartoon valued at $1000! Lucky me!)

Sean Carpenter: Building Relationships, Solving Problems and Having Fun
Isn't it amazing when you meet a kindred spirit? That's what I think when I think of Sean Carpenter ~ Agent Development Director for the Ohio NRT companies in Columbus and Cincinnati for all 1200 of his Agents (www.kingthompson.com and www.cbws.com). Sean was one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Real Estate by Inman News in 2013 and was recently recognized as the #6 individual on social media in the real estate space by the Swanepoel Report. #ICNY, O'Hara's Pub & Impact During our #CTM I asked Sean to tell the story of when he went to O'Hara's Pub at Ground Zero in New York City after I had mentioned visiting it and here is the post that he refers to:"A Reason To Go Out Of Your Way" What's most remarkable is a couple hours after our #CTM, Sean messaged me to announce that when he went looking, he discovered that he had posted this blog EXACTLY 3 YEARS AGO TODAY! (January 22, 2010) Serendipity!Connect with Sean on Twitter and Instagram at @SeanCarp and for more on how to connect with Sean see his About Me page! http://youtu.be/FDKVLpq94kQ

Gary Chambers: TractorView, Tech, & Good ol’ Fashioned Hard Work
HARD WORK There's very few people who will work harder than Gary Chambers AND he's just about the smartest, sweetest guy you'll ever have the good fortune of meeting! Dedicated to every aspect of his life, when Gary decides to do something, it doesn't occur to him that he might not be able to and so he goes ALL IN! He's Associate Broker/Owner of Century 21 Power Realty in Airdrie Calgary and Drumheller Homes, as well as Owner/Operator of his family farm! That right there would be more than enough for most, but Gary also likes to add endurance sports to his repertoire and has been competing in cycling AND just to keep it interesting Gary is also a Director on CREA's MTC committee advising on technology and realtor.ca! Sheesh! Gary is a charming; straight forward; tells-you-what-he-thinks, kind of guy! And when he's not on the farm, he's a WELL DRESSED MAN! Dare I say obsessed? Ask to see his sock/shoe collection! Banff Western Connection I was introduced to Gary way back in 2011 (I was off in my guess!) at Banff Western Connection (Easily Canada's BEST conference hosted by the 4 western provincial association every two years in January at the Banff Springs Hotel) He came over to me with his iPad to show me what he was doing with "TractorView" video blogging and I was instantly impressed! (The iPad back then was a hint at how tech savvy he is!)"Tractorview" and John Deere- Man meets BRAND Gary has a natural intuition when it comes to business and branding. On top of his work ethic, he's also incredibly creative ~ a killer combo! Out to differentiate himself, quiet his competition and make use of his time spent in his John Deere in the fields, Gary started his video blog TractorView where he shares his views about farming, tech, business and real estate beginning over 4 years ago - WAY ahead of the curve! Here's to good ol' fashioned hard work and a killer smile! Cheers Gary!(Connect with Gary @Tractorview ) (Just for fun ~ Here's a "Tractorview" video Gary sent me on my birthday a couple years ago :) )

Dan Keller; Family, Focus & FROG! (AND Baseball!!)
Dan Keller is "My Mortgage Guy Dan", a mortgage expert in the Seattle area that I met years ago when I first presented on stage at Inman News Agent Reboot. Dan inspired me immediately as a man living in high integrity, extremely driven and extremely professional. Even though he had just launched his business, (after a long career in BASEBALL!) it was evident that he was going to be highly successful. His level of confidence, commitment and focus set him apart! Clearly driven by the "Family First" motto, Dan works to be the 'Best Husband' and 'Best Father'! Dan's wife & partner Jenny is equally extraordinary and owner of Jenny's Cookies (as Dan says a tad sexier than mortgages! Talk about visually gorgeous!) Together they are a power couple! "The Banker & The Baker". :) (Not to mention the whole family is magazine photo ready! AM I RIGHT?? ) Dan believes in the 'Law of Reciprocity' and it shows in everything he does! He is thoughtful, generous and constantly sharing his values and his expertise. You can hear Dan on his own podcast "Coffee With Keller" and make sure to head to Dan's site to download his Concierge package! Amazing valuable content! If you're curious about "FROG" as mentioned in the title of this post, so was I! Dan mentioned it in our conversation in reference to how he connects meaningfully and without pushy sales with this handy acronym: FROG - Family Recreation Occupation and Goals! If you ask people you meet about these key areas of their life, you're sure to get to know a lot more about them and have them think a lot more of you! The bulk of Dan's business generation is still old school relationship management! Dan has created the 'All About You' form and tracks everything that matters to his clients in a very intentional way and STUDIES his database regularly! Dan was also chosen for the THIRD YEAR IN A ROW as one of the industry's 40 MOST INFLUENTIAL MORTGAGE PROFESSIONALS UNDER 40! Congrats Dan! Well deserved! What makes this a 'conversation that matters'? I believe that Dan is setting the bar very high by living his life by design very intentionally and with HIGH INTEGRITY. I am inspired by the level of commitment and dedication to his family and his goals. He truly is a 'Good Man'! Follow him on Twitter: @DanKellerMtg and tell him 'hi' from me! ;)

Seth Price, Placester and All IN on Content
Seth Price is VP of Sales and Marketing at Placester, creators of uber clean, fresh, intuitive, classy websites and their approach to business is to make the most beautiful product, minus the friction and pain! YES PLEASE!"As a consumer we've been sold a bill of goods that we need this laundry list of things." ~ Seth Price Seth says nonsense. We all have systems and tools with multitudes of 'features' that we never use. He believes in the beauty of SIMPLE. So do I! Additionally, Seth went ALL IN on content marketing but knew that they needed to create AMAZING content to separate themselves and gain traction. "Individuals can either add to your life or take away from it" ... a lesson learned at a young age Seth's now applying to his strategy with Placester. He identified that people want experiences and he knew that this would be a long term play; an endurance race... not a sprint. Placester has become the online "Real Estate University" (as I refer to it) when it comes to building your digital footprint and online marketing. Placester has just recently received some Series A Funding and they are about to take over the world! They now partnered with Hearst Corporation and power the real estate sections of their newspapers (and other partnerships to be announced soon) AND they just partnered with NAR to offer $5.00 sites! #GameChanger Where it gets fascinating for me is when Seth talks DESIGN and VISION. You'll LOVE Seth's take on those!"This is about growing something that actually changes the industry. You only do that by reinvesting to scale your business." Oh yes! Love watching the company growth and development and YOU Seth! http://youtu.be/2L2DQ_qLY84

Matt Beall, Hawaii Life & Worthshop 4! Aloha!
Matt Beall is a breath of fresh air in the real estate industry. He is about as down to earth as you can possibly be but equally as savvy! Matt is the Principle Broker/Owner of Hawaii Life Brokerage with 10 offices throughout the islands. He and his partners have grown their company to over 200 agents and staff and have captured our attention with his humble attitude and fresh perspective and sexy online marketing. So much so that HGTV gave them their own show! When you get a chance to hear Matt speak you'll be immediately inspired and disarmed by his 'Aloha charm' Next month Matt will be hosting his 4th annual conference Worthshop ~ unlike any real estate conference ever before! See! That's DIFFERENT! Matt and his crew approach the Worthshop conference in a very different way. Each year they have a theme. Last year it was 'Simplicity' and this year it's 'STAND'. The line up of thought leaders is incredible and its such an intimate group that the discussions are sure to be rich! Last year my mentor and dear friend Matthew Ferrara closed out the conference and wrote about his epic experience and insights he gathered here, and is one of the big reasons I simply had to attend this year! SO I'll be heading to Maui next week and I'm sure I'll be having MANY Conversations That Matter there with both Matts! (IN HAWAII!! Whoohoo!) http://youtu.be/JpdaCdLOW9o Announcer: You're listening to Conversations that Matter with your host, Teri Conrad. Teri: Hey everybody, this is Teri Conrad with Conversations that Matter, and I'm extremely honored to welcome my very special guest, Matt Beall, who is in Hawaii. Right off the bat, we're super excited, because we're talking to Hawaii. Matt Beall and I have known each other for a couple of years, and Matt is running Hawaii Life. Matt, welcome to the show. Matt: Aloha, thanks for having me. Teri: Aloha, indeed. Thank you so much for being here. I'm extremely honored. I've been watching you from afar. I probably know more about you than you do about me. The truth is that I've seen you on a couple panels at Iman Connect. We have quite a few friends in common. You are now – “Hawaii Life” is now on HGTV. It has its own show, and big, exciting news. Worthshop Shop is your conference that you're running in Maui. I believe it's your fourth year. Matt: Yes, fourth year, yeah. Teri: Okay, so there's a thousand things I want to talk about. Let's start at the beginning. First of all, Matthew, who the hell are you, and how did you come to be involved with Hawaii Life? Matt: Right? Who the hell am I? What do I know about anything? Let's see. I started my real estate career in '98, but I realized – I never put this all together, but I'm actually a third generation realtor. Teri: Wow. Matt: Yeah. I'm sure I'm not the first person to say, I don't think many people grow up when they're kids like, "I'm going to be a real estate agent!" but in Hawaii especially, on the neighbor islands, there's not a lot of industry. There's just not a lot of – there's basically agriculture, there's military, and there's tourism, hospitality, and real estate. And support industries, but that's banking, my wife's an attorney, that kind of stuff. I came up in the hospitality industry. My first real job here was a food and beverage manager for a big resort. I was very young, and I had no idea what I was doing. That's the nature of the work, is that if you can work, and you've got a work ethic, it's like, "Here you go, go!" I had success at it, but it's an enormous amount of work, and I just completely burn out. A lot of my friends in the hospitality industry were going into timeshare. Especially here on Kauai, the timeshare industry's very big. There are people that do very, very well. I got about halfway through my licensing course and I realized, "I am not going to succeed at time share." First of all, especially then, this is 20 years ago or so, I don't really like being told what to do.

Where is BH&G Canada Going? The big vision for BH&G Canada obviously is looking to expand across the country but they have a long term growth strategy as they respect current contracts. Associations and Canadian Landscape Nelson sings the praises of the Canadian industry and the DDF (our singular Data Feed) and our ability maintaining control directing listing views. Nelson: Absolutely, I think it relates well for the consumer – what the consumer expectation is and what we'll just have to look forward to going forward in the industry on the service levels that they're expected by these millennials, these consumers that are out there, these elusive consumers that everybody refers to. To those of you who don't know, I'm also the broker, owner of an office in Mississauga which gives me a lot of pleasure in working still one-on-one with some of the agents in the industry. Teri: Hi, everybody, this is Teri Conrad, and I am having a conversation that matters with a very dear friend of mine, Melanie Anne Bitner, who also is my designer, but we’re calling her more than that, actually. Now we call her a brand architect, and there’s a very specific reason for that. Melanie is an incredibly savvy businesswoman. She comes from an agency background. She understands marketing and branding on a very granular level and how all of those things tied together to build a successful business and I, of course, conned her into helping me with Agent Quest and – it actually all started with Conversations That Matter. Melanie: It did. Teri: We got together and I talked a little bit about what I wanted to build with this project, and it just sort of ballooned from there. Welcome, Melanie. Melanie: Thank you so much for having me today, Teri. This is amazing. I'm super excited to work with you, and to have you as my friend, and to share what we know about branding, and what we know about marketing, and to share that with your audience. Teri: Of course, I just continue to learn, and learn, and learn from you as we go through the process of working with our own clients. Let’s start back at the beginning. Why don’t you tell us a little bit about yourself and sort of how we came to meet and how all this sort of happened. Melanie: Okay, so going way back, I started about twenty years ago. I had a total passion for art and design, and I thought that I wanted to be a painter at one point, in fact. Then a really amazing teacher of mine suggested that I might look at other options to expand my creative outlet and also make money and have a living – not starve. He introduced me to commercial design and I was hooked ever since. Coming right out of high school, I went right from the ground up and learned in a print shop and then became a designer, and then became an art director and then I got to work in some great agencies in Vancouver where we got to work with big agency types of people. We had clients such as the Port of Vancouver, government, museums and things like that. Then, I decided to become a mother. That’s a whole other career. In the process I wanted to find a way to take my skills and my talents and bring them to the kinds of clients that maybe didn’t have the big huge budgets for the execution of the branding, that maybe the big people had. I took all of my experience and started to create a process that works for small business or ...

Leighton Dees is the Bees Knees; On Brand, Design & Innovation!
Leighton Dees CEO of Better Homes and Gardens Generations in Mobile, Alabama; a brokerage that won Inman News Innovator of the Year 2014 for Most Innovative Brokerage! Check it out below! As Leighton says "My job is to make Real Estate sexy ... and to make YOU (the agent) look like a rock star" and he does! The moment you land on Generations website you will instantly be aware that 'this is different!' Generations offers their 'GenLife Training Systems' designed to coach agents to achieving "more'". A powerful promise accompanied by their 'Real Estate Sales Blueprint' that truly addresses what every agent craves from their broker and I believe a true differentiator. Leighton and I share a passion for design and brand and believe in the importance of marketing: "Business has evolved so much. Marketing used to be a department but is now threaded throughout every aspect of a company. Marketing is what holds everything together." Generations moves quick to execute on marketing initiatives at lower costs because they've brought it all in house with Leighton leading the vision. Thanks to Leighton for joining me for this CTM! He's definitely one to watch and learn from, and you'll LOVE Leighton's answer to the Legacy question! Truly inspiring! I hope this conversation inspires you! If it does, please share and subscribe to CTM on iTunes (and leave us a review if you want more!) http://youtu.be/jMzLU0DXsdw Teri:Hi, everybody! I’m Teri Conrad and this is Conversations That Matter. I am joined today by the lovely Leighton Bees out of Mobile, Alabama, and you’ll be treated to a fabulous southern accent here in just a moment. Leighton, you are the CEO of the Better Homes and Gardens Generations office down there in Mobile, Alabama. Recently you won the Innovators 2014 Award out of Inman. There’s a lot of different ways that I want to take this conversation. One of the reasons that I reached out to you, obviously, is because Laura Monroe thinks that you are the most adorable, sweetest guy ever. She's also fascinated, as I, with the innovative culture that you’ve created there, and what is it about your office that caught the attention of the industry. There’s a lot of different ways we could go, but why don’t we start there since that’s what we’re on, and talk a little bit about – why don’t you tell me a little bit about yourself and how you grew your office. I know that originally you weren’t at Better Homes and Gardens office. You were an independent, I believe. Why don’t you talk – let’s start there. Why don’t you tell me a little bit about what are the challenges of running an independent brokerage? What drew you to the Better Homes and Gardens brand? Leighton:We started out at independent for a reason. That’s what we stated in the beginning, but the real reason mainly was we wanted to have creative freedom. I’m a designer. That's a passionate mind, whether it was for business or hobby or whatever. It was very important in the beginning not to be limited by what we could do to brand ourselves and grow our vision, basically. I consider myself a creative type of person more than a business person. I know business and enjoy it, but my passion really is in innovation, and creation, and design, and everything. As long as I can continue to do that in an environment that benefits from it, things work. As an independent company, we were able to start fresh. We started with five people, but we had a couple of things in mind. We understood culture, we understood passion, and we understood purpose. When those three things were put together under a shared vision, it was just a matter of time, time and pressure. We kept digging. That’s something that I think people want to be a part of. It wasn’t so rigid. It wasn’t purchased out of a box. We were called Oracle Real Estate, and the irony is down in the south here, nobody knows what Oracle Corporation is. Needless to say,

Taking 5 with The Seattle Divas in Hollywood!
SO... What we've learned is that I truly lack in video skills! Apologies in advance! Within days of having a professionally shot CTM at The Boutique Real Estate Group in Corona Del Mar, it was then up to me to harness my elite video skills with my iPhone and new gorilla stand on the road. I managed to capture a quick conversation with Seattle's Diva Team Kim Colaprete and Chavi Hohm at Gen Blue in Universal Studios, Hollywood in between their panel presentations! It was in the most quiet corner we could find, and yes, the camera is a tad tilted. We'll just call it 'organic and refreshingly raw.' It is all about the content after all. ;) Despite my epic video skills, (*snort *cough) Kim and Chavi both dropped some serious knowledge and perspective! These girls are HUSTLERS and are running The NUMBER 1 Real Estate Team in Seattle! Take a moment to listen to their commitment to COMMUNITY, their vision around BRAND and their overall PASSION! We only touch on some of the wisdom these amazing ladies have to share and so I promise we'll have them back on for a proper conversation soon, but in the meantime enjoy this quick listen today. Big Thanks to the Divas! http://youtu.be/-fX1LDP9_-w Teri:Hi, everyone. This is Teri Conrad on Conversations that Matter. I am home this week from a great trip to LA Hollywood, Universal Studios where I was attending GenBlue, Coldwell Banker’s GenBlue Conference. It was out of this world. It was so exciting. It was held at Universal Studios on the grounds. On the final night, we had the entire Universal Studios Park to ourselves where we got to get on all the rides with no lines, which was so awesome. Beyond that fabulous experience – oh, and the opening ceremonies was held at the Dolby Theater where the Academy Awards are held. I mean, talk about an amazing venue. Coldwell Banker really did a great job of putting on a fabulous show. The content and the learning was also really, really good. I had the great fortune of sitting in on a few different sessions. One of them – actually there were two where the Seattle Divas, who is our CTM this week, so Chavi and Kim from Seattle, the Seattle Divas they're known as in our market, who are doing extraordinary things in terms of building teams and doing amazing business, amazing differentiators. They understand brand. They understand the experience, and I sat down with them to do an interview on-site at Universal Studios. Unfortunately, we didn’t capture the whole thing. My iPhone video – if you had the chance to see last week’s video, which was done at Raja’s, the boutique real estate group new office in Corona del Mar. That was done by a professional videographer. I, however, am not a professional videographer and so unfortunately, we are reliant on the iPhone and my very, very limited tech experience. I do apologize. This week’s is a little bit shorter than normal. We only captured a brief portion of our conversation, but it was still really good, and they still want to share it. I’ve invited the girls back to come and dig in a little bit deeper when things aren’t quite as scattered, and we are more focused. Having said that, this week’s is a little brief, but it’s still really good. I think you’ll agree that the Divas are amazing, and we can learn a lot from them in terms of brand building, in terms of leveraging of scaling our business, how to focus and get super clear, and also deliver an excellent experience to our clients, which is ultimately the biggest goal. Please sit back and enjoy this quick conversation. Let us know everything you think and feel about it. If you want to dig in more, for heaven’s sake, reach out to me. I’m always looking for great conversations to dig into. Enjoy, and we’ll talk to you next time. Bye. Announcer:You're listening to Conversations that Matter with your host, Teri Conrad. Teri:Hi, everyone. This is Teri Conrad, Conversations that Matter, special interview with the Seattle Divas on locat...

Getting ‘Boutiquified’ in Corona Del Mar California ~ On Location at The Boutique Real Estate Group!
There was a guy, and he had a DREAM! Meet Raj Qsar; Founder, Visionary and 'Chief Dreamer' at The Boutique Real Estate Group in Orange County AND NOW also in their brand new swanky office in Corona Del Mar, LITERALLY 1 block from the gorgeous beach! I had the fabulous good fortune to be able to go on site for our CTM joined by TBREG team members Jeremy Lehman (Chief Technology Officer and on the Board of Directors for California Association of Realtors) and newest addition Aaron Woodman (Los Angeles Operations Manager) all the way from Chicago, who gave me the 'Boutiquified Experience' and chauffeured me in style with chilled Champagne and Godiva chocolate! (Thanks again Aaron!) Raj is a differentiator. He stands out and that was the plan. The Boutique Real Estate Group tell AMAZING visual stories with high end, stunningly gorgeous videos and by asking (and answering) the all important question 'Who wants to live in this home?' (Raj referenced a particular story where the home revolved around a baby grand piano and the song "The Summer Wind". Check it out HERE) Raj Can't do it alone. He made it clear on the journey to achieving all of his dreams, he needed to establish a great team where each member has their strength and support each other. He's heavily invested in marketing because as he believes, his clients deserve it!"Our business is client driven. We are doing what we do here not because we want to be a video production company, and not because we want to be an ad agency or marketing company. We're doing it because it gives our clients the best chance for success. Done." ~ Raj Qsar We also talk briefly about friend Mark Fitzpatrick and his super high end marketing agency RUHM for those VERY SPECIAL unique properties that require even more. (A-MAZING mini movies, websites, print, social, analytics & PR so you’ll want to check out FOR SURE!) There's a reason for every choice. Every detail... every touch point...every consideration has been made when you experience The Boutique Real Estate Group and that extends from the moment you engage whether online or off, in their swanky new diggs, and throughout the real estate process, and everyone works hard to set the bar high and ensure the client has an extraordinary experience! The market has spoken, and we say 'Boutiquify us!' #tbreg Conversations That Matter with Teri Conrad at The Boutique Real Estate Group In Corona del Mar from The Boutique Real Estate Group on Vimeo. Narrator: You're listening to Conversations that Matter with your host, Teri Conrad. Teri: Hi, everyone! I'm Teri Conrad and we have a very special Conversations that Matter live from the Boutique Real Estate here in Corona Del Mar, California. The new sexy digs are Raj Qsar's dream vision for The Boutique Real Estate Group. We're joined by Jeremy Lehman, his mobile expert and also new – newest team member Aaron Woodman all the way from Chicago. I'm in the sexiest digs that I've been in in a really good long time. I'm so excited to be here. Thank you so much for the invitation. Raj: Yeah, of course. Teri: There's some pretty amazing guys who have a lot of expertise and we're going to get into marketing, vision, video – you can't see Jared but he's on the other side of this camera and we're like – sexy set-up. Teri and her little iPhone video was not going to cut it so here we are. Let's dig in. Raj: Get Jerod! Teri: Yeah, we need to get Jared on this. I've got four screens. I might be watching football games. If you guys get boring, that might be what I do. [Laughter] Teri: Where do we begin? Let's start at the beginning. Raj started off with a little office, him and his assistant in Orange County and you had a dream. It's exploding. Why don't we start there? How did you get to this point where we are right now? Raj: I don't think any of us could have written this story. We could never have written how Jeremy and I met.

The Power in Embracing Failure with Lindsey Smith at CIR
What is it about the topic of failure that sends people running for the hills? It's a universal challenge we all face, and yet the topic is shrouded with shame and hidden at all costs. None are spared and yet we judge when someone appears weak or struggling. This topic is prevalent in Real Estate (nay LIFE) and my guest this week, Professional Development Manager at CIR Realty in Calgary shared his view on failure and how embracing a 'This too shall pass' philosophy and a willingness to share his 'failings' has opened him up to possibility that I would argue positions him to accomplish far more. Lindsey Smith brings incredible VISION, VALUES and EXPERIENCE to his company and agents. He's been a licensed Realtor®, a Team Leader and a trainer, and shares openly all of his hard earned lessons. More importantly he has a phenomenally strong mindset! Life is a series of ups and down and Lindsey embraces the 'This too shall pass' mantra (which I do too!) And he quotes W. Mitchell ~ the victim of a burning accident who says "It's not what happens to you, it's what you do about it." Lindsey also spoke about being willing to take a risk and asking for what you want and referenced the book Crucial Conversations; Tools for Talking When The Stakes Are High which I plan to chase down for a read! The BIG take away is Lindsey's philosophy: "How many people I help will determine my worth."

Raising the Bar with Michael Ackerman
To spend any time with Coldwell Banker Bain Broker Michael Ackerman, is to literally improve your life! Michael is an amazing human being and an EXCELLENT real estate agent who is super generous with a GIANT heart! Not to mention strategic marketer, savvy businessman and brander! He operates from a mindset of 'abundance' and shares all his experience, vision and best strategies freely to anyone who's eager to learn! Michael's tagline captures his spirit beautifully: "It's all about the connection." His bio reads on his website"...your connection to the home, your connection to each other and your connection with me. My business thrives on balance, positive energy and fulfilled promises." Michael believes, as do I, that brand is the entire experience a customer has with you. Not just the logo and the tagline, but how they experience you at every touch point. How you present yourself matters and Michael pays attention to every detail right down to a fresh crisp shirt! In all of Michael's marketing he's looking to "evoke an emotional response" and so he invests aggressively in professional photography and video with the understanding that the buyer does the bulk of their shopping online. Michael pays close attention for every opportunity to make his client and/or customer to feel special, high level attention to detail and seeking to delight and surprise as much as possible. I truly believe if more of us operated with Michael's attitude and commitment to excellence, the entire industry would be vastly improved."Always be gracious. Do the right thing. Have the right intention and the money will come." ~ Michael Ackerman

Confidence Coaching with Dan Munro all the way from New Zealand!
I'm very excited to introduce Dan Munro founder of The Inspirational Lifestyle who I met during my intensive 3 month Coaching Mastermind Workshop with Jacob Sokal, founder of Sensophy. (someone else you will likely want to check out!) For a little context, the mastermind program was limited to 10 via application only and we all formed very tight relationships as we intensified our own coaching businesses. I was VERY impressed with Dan Munro (and LOVE his New Zealand accent ;) ) and the level of expertise he brings to his coaching practice. Dan focuses on CONFIDENCE and finding your PURPOSE and offers very practical methods for being able to become the observer of your thoughts to reduce your anxiety and stress. (as he refers to ACT = Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) "A thought can be created without the remotest evidence of truth." ~ Dan Munro
