We also go to dive into why boxing is great for mental health.  I don't want to give it away in the bio but I'll say this, mental health advice is helpful for EVERYONE! Episode 50: Lean into the uncomfortable
In this episode I tell the "This is good" story of the African King and his best friend, and leave you with my 3 step system to keeping a positive mindset when faced with adversity. This episode was inspired from a book I'm reading about this concept called "Embrace the suck" by Brent Gleeson a former Navy Seal. Navy Seals are experts in uncomfortable situations and there is so much to learn from them.  So in the episode I share some of my perspective on facing adversity, and how I've adopted the "embrace the suck" mindset of the seals.  --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/d2dtothetopfloor/message

Episode 49: Shake it off and step up!
In this episode we talked about facing challenges and I told you the story of the donkey who fell in the deep deep well, and somehow found a way out after his owner tried to bury him alive. The moral of that story is that life will throw stuff at us NO MATTER WHAT! We have to find a way to shake it off and step up. I then left you with three things to keep in the back of your mind as life throws dirt your way and those were: Face it head on Remove the outcome, love the process It's all a part of your journey Hope you enjoyed this episode, please share this episode, repost it on your social and I’ll see you next week for episode 50!!! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/d2dtothetopfloor/message

Episode 45: CEO by Accident w/Josh Lamont, Founder JRL Strategies
In this episode I finished up my interview with Josh Lamont learning more about his professional career, his time at Cornell University, working with the Obama's, and lastly learning about how he became a CEO by accident. Josh shared how in his 20's he more learned about the things he didn't like through trial and error, which eventually led him to his passion leading him to become a business owner. Episode 45 is a great interview to listen to for anyone (LIKE MYSELF) that still doesn't have it all figured out and wants to learn and become successful. Episode 44: The Business of Giving w/Josh Lamont, Founder, JRL Strategies
In this episode I got to sit down with Joshua Lamont, Founder of JRL Strategies. Josh has had tons of experience giving back and is well known for his time working on the Board of Directors at GLSEN, Director of Corporate Giving at the Lehman Brothers, being the VP of Global Communications at amFAR & much more. In this episode I got to hear about his love to giving back and where that comes from, as well as discussing the loss of our fathers. Josh left so many gems in this episode about how to help others whether professionally or personally, and I think we can all take something away from this episode.  The best part is....this is part 1 of 2! Episode 43: Trust the process
In this episode I talk about "Trusting the process," meaning to have faith that things will work out. It's hard to trust the process, and have faith that no matter what you're going through its all apart of the journey. The “Trust the Process” slogan was used by fans of the Philadelphia 76ers back in 2013….where fans were basically saying “things may look bad now, but we have a plan to make it better.” In this episode I’m going to talk to you about how to create that process for yourself & leave you with 3 reasons why you should have faith and trust the process Check it out and connect with me on social @Conorjfergus --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/d2dtothetopfloor/message

Episode 42: Living on purpose w/ Will "Zee" Tidwell SpeakUpZee
In this episode I got the opportunity to sit down & interview Will "Zee" Tidwell CEO of SpeakUpZee LLC. Zee grew up in Little Rock, AK as a future basketball star, but everything changed when his parents split at 17 and he ended up homeless with his mother. With no other options Zee quit basketball and helped provide for his family. During that hard time Zee started sharing his story through his writing, and the feeling he had from helping others and being vulnerable was the same amazing feeling he felt when he'd drop 30 points in a bball game. From that point on Zee knew what he was meant to do! Zee stumbled across his purpose at 17 years old, & learned how to use his story, hardship, & struggles not only as a way to motivate himself, but to also motivate & help others. In this episode I’ll be talking to Zee about his story, how he found his purpose, and get some advice from all of his experience going through life on the way towards his “top floor.” So without further a-do let’s listen in on my interview with the….Will “Zee” Tidwell. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/d2dtothetopfloor/message

In this episode I sit with professional boxer Martez Jackson to hear and share his story. Martez grew up in Warner Robbins, GA a small rural town in Georgia. Becoming a professional fighter isn't easy anywhere, even harder when there's not many boxing gyms within miles of where you lived. Martez defied the odds and continues to climb the ranks in the middleweight division. Episode 36: Why Network?
In this episode I go over why its important to network. I think its a "moo point" that networking is important, this episode is pretty obvious in that sense. When I asked a few buddies they gave me similar answers that some of you may offer if I asked you why it was important. It plays a role in our professional lives sure, but it also plays a major role in our personal lives and relationships as well but asking for advice from someone you know and trust is healthy. At the end of the day you'll have to take action on your own but networking can be a shortcut. Please take a listen to this episode where I share why I network and the 5 reasons that its become something regular in my life.  Please share, leave reviews, and interact with me on social! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/d2dtothetopfloor/message
