Episode 17 - All Good Things, And Mediocre Things Too
Subtitle: Jonathon & The Gator Present: The Benefits Of Lyme Disease We put a bow on 2013 and also the podcast with this final episode of CBGP. It's been fun, but circumstances that we discuss in the podcast will prevent us from continuing in this venture at this time. Eric does have another "iron in the fire", and Chris will definitely be involved, so don't worry that this dynamic will never grace your ear holes again, cuz it will! We recap the console releases and the problem with fanboyism, companies pandering to idiot customers and the companies being idiots themselves; everyone's enormous sense of self worth, and how we're just as guilty of it. Chris reveals his dream job, and Eric starts talking about the mystery project that he hopes will become HIS dream job, and oh yeah, Ron Santo comes up, cuz why not. Stay tuned for the end of the episode, where I shoot the wad of all the theme songs, soundclips, and snippets that were earmarked for the show. Some you've already heard, some will be new treats, and certainly some will make you want to run screaming into on-coming traffic ("Time Passages", anyone???) Please stay subscribed to the show feed, as more details regarding that mystery project will be forthcoming soon! Until we meet again..........

Episode 14: Take The Over On The Underrated
We're back with yet another list (though we promise this is the last list for a while). We discuss our ten (11 with honorable mentions) most underrated games, and a few other games get discussed along the way. Of course, no episode of CBGP would be complete without meandering, so come along for the ride in our Cessna, we promise not to fly too close to landmarks. You can wear whatever you want, bonus points if you bring back Chris's favorite Halloween costume, the Hershey's Kiss. Oh, but absolutely no smoking permitted! What the hell am I talking about? Exactly..... It's November, so that means another Call Of Duty & Assassins Creed release, which gets some discussion. The PS4 had not yet been released at the time of recording, but a busy week prevented posting for a week and now it has been released to incredible fanfare, which we'll discuss in our next episode, along with XB1 talk since that release is also close at hand. Thanksgiving is right around the corner, so in case we aren't back before that, we hope you have a Gobble Gobble Good Holiday! We're certainly thankful for our fans, if you are thankful for us in return, please send us a mail, comment, or leave us a 5 star iTunes review. As the Pilgrims (probably) said at the first Thanksgiving: "Get stuffed, Potsie"!

Episode (Perfect) 10: Let's Talk About Sex(ism) Bay-bee
Let's talk about you and me (well, Chris and Eric, anyway). Let's talk about all the good things (there aren't any) and all the bad things (there are a lot), that may be. Let's talk ABOUUUUUUUUT sex(ism).....in games, and popular culture, and why it sucks. All you whipper-snappers, those are lyrics to a Salt-N-Pepa song from 1991. We're sorry. Now get off of our lawn. We made it to double digits, but with silly write-ups like this we'll be lucky if we have any listeners left for an episode 11... You're spoiled with 2 episodes in less than a week, because we are trying to keep our numbering schedule for a nice spooky Halloween episode 13, but we promise these episodes are not just filler, we are talking about important things here!!! The ep is about sexism in gaming and pop culture, we get off on a bit of a tangent about Breaking Bad and Dexter but no Breaking Bad spoilers (there are one or two character discussions about Dexter which could be potential spoilers if you haven't made it to seasons 2-4 yet, but if you haven't, seriously, just save yourself the heartache and stop watching now......) Also some spoilerish stuff for Kill Bill, but the statute of limitations is up on that movie, seriously.... Once more, the wheels come off towards the end as we bash all things Twilight for a few minutes, then Chris tells me he hates me because I'm a Femi-Nazi. Or something like that. Maybe nothing like that. You'll have to listen to find out. Then hey, why not stop on by iTunes and rate us 50 Shades Of Awesome? (err, 5 stars). Or write us an e-mail and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org . C'mon, your writing HAS to be better then Stephenie Meyer's, right?

Episode 8 : Rage Quitting League Of Lacerated Testicles
GTA 5 was released this week and it sold 800 million copies on day one. Fitting, because this 8th episode of CBGP is going to get 800 million downloads also, right?!? Right?!? Er....right..... Chris and Eric discuss the GTA series as well as the Saints Row series, similarities and differences. GTA 5 has real world financial implications that affect gameplay, and Chris explains why he likes it, and Eric explains why he doesn't like it, and of course that leads to offshoot discussion about sports games having real-world tie ins, sometimes, uhh, a little TOO much, when it comes to hockey game injury disclosures. <Wink, it's in the title, wink> Chris gives us two personal examples of rage quitting, we lament the loss of his destroyed controllers and peripherals, and Eric advises that there are worse things that can happen than a game freeze-up. We discuss our roles in the zombie apocalypse, and drop the mics on the episode! It's a wee shorter than usual, but packed with enough laughs that you'll still feel like you've had far too much enjoyment and you'll wish that there was a way to compensate us! There is, (!!) non-sexually or monetarily!! Just rate us 5 stars on iTunes! It really does help us show up more in their algorithm so that others may find us. Come on, I know you want to keep us to yourself, but just imagine how much you can lord it over everyone else when you can say "Psssh, I was listening to CBGP when they were still underground, man!" We know how important that is. Help us help you.....

Episode 6 : Escapism Gaming, Internet Flaming, Hoping and Coping
It's Eric & Dylan at the helm, as Chris toils away in the salt mines. CBGP is back from a brief hiatus, which I explain in the episode which is mostly about gaming as escapism, and/or how we use gaming as a coping mechanism to help us get through real life strife. It's emotional at the beginning, and we definitely make use of our explicit tag this go-round, so listeners with purity rings around their eardrums should take note. We get heated talking about internet trolls and their incessant flame wars, but the last quarter of the episode gets back to the fun with Eric & Dylan participating in the "Mario Challenge" that we discussed in episode 2 (where many modern day gamers can't beat world 1-1 of Super Mario Bros.). We also take on other NES games and give the audio breakdown before spiraling out of control (hilariously) at the end. Enjoy! And notice the new theme song! No more potential licensing issues because I made this one my damn self!

Episode 5 - Sporting Hayseeds & Woe Is Wii U (Well, Zel-duh!)
We get sporty with talk about the NCAA, offer our apologies to our international listeners about futbol and especially the Premier League, talk NFL, NBA, MLB, etc. for the first 31 minutes or so. Listeners that don't care for sports, feel free to skip it, but do be aware that you'll miss out on a story from Chris about idiocy in 'Murica's farm land, and the rabid lunacy of some fans that don't quite draw the line at fandom. Then it's on to Nintendo talk as we discuss the 30 year anniversary of the Famicom (Japanese NES), our history with the NES and what it was like figuring out how to defeat King Hippo & crew from Punch-Out! (back when it was still called MIKE TYSON'S Punch-Out!) (Yes, kids, Mike Tyson used to be a marketable athlete before he got all rape-y, face tattooed, and was a punchLINE in the Hangover movies). We discuss the woes of Wii U and its awful sales numbers, especially in stark contrast to the 3DS, and wax intellectual on Nintendo's decision to NOT release their IP's to Sony or Microsoft. Seriously, who doesn't want Mario Kart on a system that they actually want to own? As you can tell from the pun in the title, the game of the episode is The Legend Of Zelda. As the episode finishes, you'll get whisked back to a wonderland of nostalgia, hearing the Zelda theme song, but then you are just as swiftly sonically assaulted by a montage of the lispy tones of Al Stewart's "Time Passages". Remember folks, "it's just a game that you play....." Please forgive us.
