An apology and explanation for why the Comics Radar Podcast ended for those few of you still subscribed.

Looooong over due, but here’s episode #145. We’re sorry, June’s been hectic for our little podcast and July looks about the same. Unfortunately, it’s the only one we’re recording this month too. If I can remember correctly, we bid farewell to Burnard, since the previous episode was his last. Greg Berlanti confirms that he’s working on a Booster Gold film and that Supergirl will be filming in Canada, instead of California. That Nick Spencer is ruining comic books by making Captain America an agent of Hydra. Disney abruptly cancels the Disney Infinity video game, even though it’s the number one selling “figure-based” game. Oh yeah, we also went over June Previews, almost forgot that little tidbit! Recorded at the very beginning of May, so we might as well post it before June gets here in a few hours. To be completely honest with everyone, it’s been a very long and hectic month, so I’ll keep this short… We talked about all the recent Ghostbusters news, Netflix officially announces the Punisher’s series, Wizard World’s CEO steps down (no one was shocked), Doctor Who Day 2016, Nintendo’s next system release date, upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens RPG and May Previews too. There’s a few more things, but you’ll just have to listen to find out!

The three of us had quite a bit to talk about, since there were a few announcements over the past couple of weeks. All of Marvel and DC’s movie announcements at CinemaCon. John can’t wait to try Gerard Way’s (My Chemical Romance) brand-new DC imprint and all their intriguing titles. Burnard filled us in with more details about Finn Jones’s training for the upcoming Netflix Iron-Fist series and Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City’s HD remastered versions. And Matt mentioned how several movie studios are all bidding for the rights to a live-action Pokemon movie. Tell us what you thought about this episode in the comments section!

After spending a couple of weeks recovering from a double lung transplant, our illustrious host is back and he wouldn’t shut up. Once the show got underway, we discussed the past weekend’s WonderCon and all of DC and Marvel’s announcements at their panels. Besides that, the Supergirl/Flash crossover had huge ratings for CBS and Echo Kellum joins Arrow as a series regular. John mentioned the sale of CBR to ValNet and Valiant’s Faith #1 going into a fourth printing. And before we counted down our top picks in April Previews, we gave our thoughts and box office figures on Batman V. Superman. Then we try something new with the Previews catalog and run down our top 10 new things we’re looking forward to. What did we miss from Previews? It’s 2016 and we’re back with our first show of the year! We started recording the show without Burnard, but he eventually strolled into the studio and we able to really begin. Matt brought up how there’s a petition to make a PG-13 cut of the R-rated Deadpool film, so that a mom can take her 8-year old son (also named Matt) to see it and China’s already banned the movie too. Over the past weekend, Burnard traveled to Miami for the Magic City convention (check out the FaceBook page for pics and videos) and gave us a nice recap and filled us in with Fox’s Legion and Hellfire Club television projects. It was our very last show of 2015 and we pretty much just chatted about whatever and skimmed through a very lackluster December Previews magazine. We recorded the show less than 24-hours before The Force Awakens opened, so we brought that up a few times. Spent way too much time talking about Nintendo’s re-release of the original Pokemon games in February and how John wants the New 3DS with the nipple feature. Burnard talks about Hank Henshaw’s BIG reveal on CBS’s Supergirl. Matt goes over all the movie trailers that Hollywood decided to pour onto us in December and a surprise gift exchange, which worked out very nicely. I’m sorry, I completely forgot to post this show up last week. Anyways, we had a very special guest join us in the studio, fellow comic book geek and tabletop gaming veteran, Mister Rod Godfrey. Before delving into November’s Previews Magazine, the four of us talked about a little bit of everything… How life imitated art, because a terminally I’ll man got to see The Force Awakens early, just like in the movie Fanboys. Ash VS Evil Dead has already been renewed, even before it’s premiere episode. Lego makes some very expensive and nerdy announcements about upcoming sets. The episode started off with the three of us talking about Lego Dimensions and how John cheated in the Jurassic World dimension. Even though he tried to defend his actions, he knows what he did wrong. As the show got rollin’ we talked about the Star Wars : Battlefront beta and how much fun watching the YouTube videos were. How “THUNDER Agents” is trying to make a major come back (again) with possible big and small screen deals, leaving us perplexed about it. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is getting a little bigger with the addition of “Ant-Man and the Wasp” in 2018 and Mark Ruffalo will be joining Chris Hemsworth in “Thor: Ragnarok”. Because of September’s glitch in the Matrix, which forced the three of us to record issue #132 all over again, we weren’t sure whether to go a regular show or just skip it and do another Previews one. We originally recorded this episode at the every end of August, since John was going to Dragon Con in Atlanta for about a week, and the three of us wanted to stay on schedule.But due to a glitch in the Matrix or Ultron attacking the computers of the Palm Beach County library system, as Burnard so eloquently put it, we lost the original recording. Before your friendly neighborhood podcasters flipped through August’s Previews Magazine, which an argument about this year’s DC Comics Halloween variants took place, we gave our thoughts on the Ant-Man movie and alternate ending. John informs us about the upcoming Hercules post-Secret Wars series and how the writer wasn’t allowed to make the mythological character bi-sexual. Matt unloads all the Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man and Civil War News from the past couple of weeks. Apparently Electric Nachos is a Thrash Metal Band from Mexico and not just the name of the deadly femme fatale being introduced in the second season of Daredevil. Who knew? Besides that, we talk about SDCC 2015, this little convention in San Diego and, oh yeah, SDCC 2015. Should have posted this last week, but whatever, it’s all still relevant. A few weeks delayed, but at least it’s been posted. Before we talked about all the things we want but can’t afford in July’s Previews Magazine, we started the show off with a couple spoilers and details about the Batman: Arkham Knight video game. The DC Cinematic Universe’s studio shake-up and Guillermo Del Toro’s departure from Dark Universe aka Justice League: Dark, Marvel’s Secret Wars issues get pushed back, yet again. The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow has an official showrunner and we’re a tad worried about who they picked, the Secret Warriors will appear on the next season of Agents of SHIELD. And finally three grown men debate the different colors of Pokeballs from the original Pokemon games.

How does the attached graphic match up with the headline? I don’t know. something… something… Robot Bris? Besides having a long discussion about that picture of Baymax, we also talked about: Chiwetel Ejiofor cast as Baron Mordo in “Doctor Strange”, NBC’s Constantine officially dead, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy confirmed in an “open relationship”, Forest Whitaker signs up for “The Crow” remake and “Star Wars: Rogue One”, Devil’s Due Entertainment merges with 1st Comics and apparently Jon Bernthal is the Punisher and still Jewish.
