About the Show: This show is inspired by the one and only Sheek Louch. When he stepped on All About the Benjamins in 1997, he spit a line that spoke to my soul and became my life mantra: “I’m strictly tryna cop those colossal sized picassos.” When I think about that lyric, I don’t think only about the Picasso hanging on the wall, but I think about the journey to it. Which looks so different for each of us. The things we have to unpack along the journey, the things we have to learn and unlearn. What we have to heal from to even enjoy all that life can offer. I think about everything that I’m strictly tryna cop out of life. We all have our own version of what that “Picasso” is. And how we get to it. We’re making space to commemorate the journey by talking through the hiccups and celebrating the growth. You’ll hear stories from some beautiful people that have started building lives they’ve never seen, that have learned how to look in the mirror and love who they see, folks that have started businesses based on their commitment to their own healing, and so much more.
