#4 – Four Easy Steps to Building A Following Using Twitter Basics
Twitter is an amazing platform to use when connecting with people. When someone sends you a mention, reply, or direct message, chances are you will receive it directly on your moble if you have notifications turned on. It's like receiving a text. Now imagine your ideal readers receiving a mention from you and chatting with you about your book? Instantly?
Listen to the podcast to learn more about finding your ideal readers and best practices for building your following.
This week I am sending a special thank you for the mentions and re-tweets to:
Minnie Lahongrais, author @lahongrais
J. Perry Kelly, author @TheSibylReborn
@hashtag_books (thank you for making my post a favorite!)
And thank you to all of the new followers on both @CloeyWorld and @CloeysGuides you're the BEST! Go visit these authors and show them your love by following them and getting to know them. Also make sure that you visit our FaceBook page and join the community by giving it your LIKE. Simply click the link on the left side bar of this blog and it will take you there.
I created a companion video on Youtube at:

This is my first video and - full disclosure - it has errors. I believe that even with the errors that you will clearly see, I still give you the basics that you need to do well with Twitter. Let me know if you want more like it (without errors and goofs) and I will create them to "show you how". You may need to copy and paste the link in your browser in order to see the video.
Three apps that I shared this week are:
Fake Followers by Social Bakers at http://www.socialbakers.com/twitter/fakefollowercheck/
I tested @CloeyWorld and got the following results: Suspicious 1%, Inactive 1%, Good 98%
The second app that I used was Fakers by www.statuspeople.com
I tested @CloeyWorld and got the following results: Fake 1%, Inactive 11%, Good 88%
The third and final app that I would like to share with you is Unfollow. You can find it in the app store for the iPhone. I didn't see an android app but you can ask Andre at @spicyapps (on Twitter) if they have one. He hasn't tweeted since November 19, 2014 and it looks like he tweets updates as they occur but send him a tweet anyway - you never know who's listening.
Last week I asked our listeners to look at author websites and social media accounts and to join a service, that looked interesting to them, then to start building a following. Let us know how you made
