Meditation Monday 7 - Surrounded by Sound
There are so many ways to use sound in your meditations, and here you’ll start by becoming enveloped by your sound environment. You can never control all the aspects of any space, so how can sounds that enter your meditation environment actually draw you deeper into your meditation rather than distract you from it? What to expect in this meditation: A practice of deep listening to the sounds in your environment. You’ll notice how your meditation is affected once you become fascinated by the sounds around you rather than trying to push them away. It will change your relationship with music too. ;)   Follow me on Facebook@AmandaChavisCreative

Be - Meditation 5
In striving to get from point A to point B in our lives, we often forget to enjoy - or at least be present in - the process. We forget that we are human BEINGS, not human DOINGS, and that the point of life is to experience it. We’re so focused on moving TOWARDS something we want or AWAY from something we don’t want that we forget that life is happening RIGHT NOW, in between one mile marker and another. In reality there are no arrivals. Life is all a continuous unfolding. Your life is not made by how many mile markers you have. It’s made by how you live the unfolding. So this meditation is about getting present to the unfolding. You’ll use your breath as a tool to hold your attention on the experience of the breath itself. And you’ll learn how to apply this technique to your life in a profound way.

Jennifer is CEO and co-founder of iCadenza, an online resource dedicated to helping musicians create the creative careers we love by connecting our artistic brains with our business brains (yes, we all have one!). "Just" Breathe - Meditation 2
A meditation with 2 main parts. 1. Control your breath The practice of consciously deciding how you want to breathe (and the effects you'll notice of a slow and controlled breath) will give you a tool to help ease performance anxiety and stress. It also builds your focus and awareness muscles. With practice, this can become second nature as you approach nerve-wracking performances (or stressful situations) of any kind. 2. Become the observer You'll release control of the breath and, as always, get the opportunity to become the observer of your natural breath, where you also get to practice allowing thoughts to come and go.

Connecting to Body and Breath - Meditation 1
This month is all about getting connected to your body and your breath. It's the best way to start building your awareness muscle, the easiest way to become the observer. Even if you're an experienced meditator, this foundational practice will re-connect you to the parts of yourself that so easily get overlooked.  What's in it... Rotation of awareness In the rotation of awareness, you are guided to focus your attention briefly on one body part at a time. This settles the mind and helps build a connection between mind and body. Exploring the breath Afterwards, you become the explorer who is sent to observe and report about all there is to notice about your breath. With this focus on the breath established, you then practice watching your thoughts and directing your mind where you want it to go. Meditation Length: 12 minutes Silent Time: 3 minutes
