The Anxious Generation
Seventy years ago, there was “the greatest generation.” Later, Generation X became known as the slacker generation. Today, millennials are turning out to be the anxious generation. Numerous recent studies have shown that millennials suffer from anxiety at a much higher rate than generations that preceded them. What’s wrong with kids these days?

Why Do Black People Vote For Democrats?
As recently as 1956, nearly 39 percent of blacks voted Republican in that year's presidential election. After the Civil War, Abe Lincoln's Republican Party easily carried the black vote -- where blacks were allowed to vote. Unwelcome in the Democratic Party, most blacks voted Republican and continued to do so through the early part of the 20th century. It wasn't until 1948, when 77 percent of the black vote went to Harry Truman, who had desegregated the military, that a majority of blacks identified themselves as Democrats. Yet, as a percentage of the party, more Republicans voted for the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 than did Democrats. Why do black people vote for democrats?

Strategies to Improve Low-Performing Schools- Almost six years ago, Terry Grier, former superintendent of the Houston Independent School District, or HISD, faced a challenge that district leaders across the country confront each year: how to dramatically improve student achievement in the lowest-performing schools. Confronting the Racial Pay Gap- The Intel Corporation is about to do something so radical and unconventional in the realm of American business that its CEO, Brian Krzanich, admits that he’s “scared to death.” What could possibly so rattle the confidence of the top official of the world’s largest semiconductor chip manufacturer? How about Krzanich having to publicly admit to the world that his highly visible and extremely profitable firm pays its African American, Latino, and Native American employees unfairly in comparison to its white and Asian American workers.

Trump refuses to condemn the KKK
Trump was pressed three times on whether he'd distance himself from the Ku Klux Klan -- but never mentioned the group in his answers. "I don't know anything about what you're even talking about with white supremacy or white supremacists," he said. "So I don't know. I don't know -- did he endorse me, or what's going on? Because I know nothing about David Duke; I know nothing about white supremacists."

Make America Great Again!!! Can Trump Do it?
Trump’s America is a fantasy world. It’s like a more racist Oz, where the giant head gesticulating in front of the curtain is the Trump-Wizard’s only true form. And he has, clearly, an active imagination. He dreamed up a fierce Civil War battle and a “River of Blood” and even put a commemorative plaque on the spot where this great big nothing happened. I am not usually one to object to living in the fantasy realms created by other people’s imaginations. I own too many lightsabers for that objection to carry much weight. But Trump’s world is not a place anyone should want to live. And his fantastic vision has nasty, real-world consequences, from the Black Lives Matter protester roughed up (deservedly, said Trump) at a Trump rally, to the Islamophobes emboldened by his visions of religious registries and immigration bans. This fantasy world is spilling over into our reality and it is ugly.

Will the real Donald Trump please stand up?
Some of his policy stances are flatout disqualifying to the Republican establishment, but that doesn’t seem to matter. The inconsistencies may even be an asset in assembling a coalition. To a large extent Trump’s policy contradictions reflect his rapidly shifting political alliances over the past 15 years Which side is Donald Trump on? Voters are drawn to Trump more for his I’ll-say-anything style than for his policy views. But a close inspection of Trump’s two published policy tomes, “The America We Deserve” (2000) and “Time To Get Tough” (2011), along with Trump’s public statements in interviews, on Twitter and in public appearances, indicate that Trump’s policy preferences are eclectic, improvisational and often contradictory.

Americans’ student loan debt now tops an unimaginable $1 trillion. In New Jersey, nearly two-thirds of college grads leave school with some measure of debt, averaging nearly $30,000 apiece. Those are the ones who graduate. Millions of low-income students will never apply to four-year colleges at all — scared away by the cost of a college degree. In a weak attempt to do something about student loan debt, federal lawmakers capped loan rates last month. That’s hardly enough. New Jersey is considering a concept to offer tuition at a state university or college in exchange for a percentage of grads’ income for 20 years or more. That’s still a shockingly high price tag. Why can’t college be free?

Why is America Attacking BlackLivesMatter ?
Black Lives Matter has come under attack due to recent high profile back-to-back murders of two journalists live on air in Virginia and a deputy in Houston. Both murders were absolutely wrong, despicable and unjustifiable, and both were committed by black men who seem to be suffering from or had a history of mental illness. These men were troubled, isolated loners with inaccurate distortions of victimization that contributed to their decision to murder innocent people. The same rhetoric has been said about Dylan Roof and Adam Lanza, when combined killed almost 30 people. Yet, the murders committed by two black men are being erroneously linked to a movement and it's appalling to make that connection. And it's even more disturbing to paint this movement as a hate group.

Follow The Money "Who Do Our Politicians Work For? "
Ever wonder why politicians keep getting caught up in scandals? Does the entire country go around groping subordinates at parties and giving other people's money to their friends, and the only reason we don't hear about it is because they haven't been elected to anything? No. Politics is different. For better or worse, the behavior of politicians is influenced by a unique and volatile combination of personal ambition and public accountability. It takes them places most of us will never go.

9-2-2015- Should Black People Get Reparations ?
To ADDRESS the terrible human and economic costs of slavery and racial injustice in the United States, many have proposed that reparations be paid to African-Americans. Would this compensate for the wrongs that have been done? Is it fair or practical to consider it? And if reparations were approved, how would they be implemented? Proponents of legalizing prostitution believe it would reduce crime, improve public health, increase tax revenue, help people out of poverty, get prostitutes off the streets, and allow consenting adults to make their own choices. They contend that prostitution is a victimless crime,Opponents believe that legalizing prostitution would lead to increases in sexually transmitted diseases such as AIDS, global human trafficking, and violent crime including rape and homicide. They contend that prostitution is inherently immoral, commercially exploitative, empowers the criminal underworld, and promotes the repression of women by men.

Murder rates have gone up in cities across the country, including New York, Washington, Chicago, St. Louis, Milwaukee and New Orleans. ARMED BLACK PANTHERS TO TEXAS COPS: ‘WE WILL START CREEPING UP ON YOU IN THE DARKNESS- Armed Black Panther members marched in front of the Waller County jail and shouted, “You’re gonna stop doing what you’re doing, or we will start creeping up on you in the darkness.”The statement was made just two weeks prior to the assassination of a Harris County deputy sheriff.Shannon Miles, a black male, allegedly came “creeping up” behind Harris County Deputy Darren Goforth in the darkness on the night of August 28. While Goforth stood at a convenience store pumping gas into his patrol vehicle, Miles allegedly raised a pistol and shot him dead Guatemala needs profound change- Months of protests have coalesced into unified outrage against Guatemalan President Otto Perez Molina after the nation’s top prosecutors disclosed evidence that he was embroiled in a graft scandal. A national strike on Aug. 27 has shuttered schools and businesses and brought tens of thousands to the street, with many on SOCIAL MEDIAproclaiming, “I have no president.” This is a fragile moment for a nation that has never reckoned with the bloody legacy of its internal conflict, from 1960 to 1996, which saw the deaths of more than 200,000 Guatemalans, mostly indigenous Mayans. Guatemala has yet to dismantle the inequality, poverty and racism that gave rise to that conflict. The U.S.-backed elites who used state-sponsored terrorism to crush the 36-year insurgency still wield power

8-28-2015 -George H W Bush (and Family) - One Evil Son Of A Bitch
What is interesting about the history of the Bush family are the connections; Avril Harriman, Allen Dulles, the Rockefellers (the start of the oil connection), James Baker III, Gulf Oil, Pennzoil, Osama bin Laden…on and on it goes. Forget ‘Dynasty’, although maybe they got the idea for the programme from the Bush posse. Staggering, is all I can say about the Bush family saga. Yet actually it’s par for the course as they say and not at all exceptional in the annals of the US power elite. The history of US capitalism is made up of family dynasties of one kind or another, from the robber barons of the Du Ponts, Mellons, Morgans, Rockefellers and, Carnegies , through to the newcomers like Enron, Worldcom, Halliburton, Bechtel, Harken, Carlyle and so forth. And, like the landed aristocracies of England, they marry into each other’s families, go to the same schools and universities, sit on each other’s corporate boards and invest in each other’s business dealings. Importantly, they watch each other’s backs and for obvious reasons. And in any case, the critical issue is not so much the individual goings-on of these ne’er do wells, but that they are typical of a system, which since its foundation (one built on slavery, genocide, continental land theft and gangster capitalism) has utterly corrupt institutions which it nevertheless claims make it the bastion of the ‘free world’! As the saying goes, they have ‘no shame’.
