Camping like Kings
Daniel and Anthony review Sequoia National Park and make excuses for our podcasting absence. We were camping... C'mon. We also review the book, "The Way of Kings" (The stormlight archive) by Brandon Sanderson. The first half of the conversations is spoiler free for those who want to get into this fun fantasy read. 2. WWI & WWII and hopefully not WWIII
In this Episode, Anthony, Daniel and Leigh discuss the parallels between World War I, World War II and the recent activity in the Ukraine. Could it all be leading to World War III? Have nuclear disarmament treaties locked us into a WWIII future? Or are there rational actors that will steer us away? Show Notes: 9:12 – Daniel mentions a book that influenced Germany’s interest in naval dominance. In 1890 Alfred Thayer Mahan published his college lectures as The Influence of Sea Power upon History, 1660–1783. Correction: Daniel said 9,000 men army. Alexander the Great had a disputed number of soldiers that ranged between 40,000 and 90,000 men. - See: Dan Carlin - Hardcore history - Blueprints for Armageddon I Wikipedia has an estimated 1.7 million men army marched to Belgium in 1914. Episode 1 - Ready Player One
In our first episode, we discussed the book "Ready Player One" by Ernest Cline: The book was published by Random House on August 16, 2011. The audiobook is narrated by Wil Wheaton. Published: August 16, 2011 Author: Ernest Cline Genre:Science Fiction Anthony and Daniel discuss the basic premise of the book, then jump into some of our favorite aspects of the story, plot devices and characters, as well as a few gripes. If the book sounds interesting to you we both recommend picking it up. It's a quick read, and if you're a fan of the 80's you'll love the content in this story. (Sorry if Daniel sounds a little too quite. We had a mic issue that is now resolved.) We hope you enjoy.
