On this show I’m virtually meeting up with Meghan Williams and Nathan Serrato of the Escondido Creek Conservancy. Meghan is a development associate and Nathan is their marketing and volunteer manager. We’re going to talk about the efforts of the conservancy, how the pandemic has impacted their efforts and some of the special projects they have been working on. The Escondido Creek Conservancy is focused on the health and vitality of the Escondido Creek Watershed. Since 1991, they’ve helped to preserve thousands of acres of land. They also act as land stewards for some of North County’s favorite places like the Elfin Forest. Their work isn’t contained just acquiring the land, but also to creating safe outdoor spaces for the flora and fauna that inhabit that land, and places for people to explore and interact with the land. This week my guest is Dande Bagby, the CoFounder, CoOwner, CoRunner, Basically, CoEverything of Bagby Beer Company in Oceanside California which she operates with her husband Jeff. Back In March I spoke with Dande about their brewery shutdown announcement due to COVID-19, and how uncertain the future was not just for the brewery but for all of us. The brewery is reopening for takeaway with online ordering at bagbybeer.com, and I reached out to find out why. As always Dande was charming, insightful, and our conversation meanders around touching on beer, operating a small business, dealing with COVID, and where she’d take a mini-vacation if the pandemic were over tomorrow.
