11/21: Chauncey's Great Outdoors
On this weeks Chaunceys Great Outdoors 11-21-2020 were going to hear from a couple of unique sportsmen. The first one Is Frank Giacomino 91 years young, who you may have seen in the papers holding a 3 .8-pound oyster mushroom he found. Frank at 91 years old is a sportsman who has all the get up and go of a man in his 40s. Were going to talk about that mushroom he found, but were also going to talk about what interests
him and how he would take the streetcar to Montrose Harbor to go perch fishing with his dad as a kid, and then walk the neighborhood were, he grew up picking mushroom on the park ways and in the alleys of Chicago and more. I just love this guy, you have to hear the love he has for the outdoors in his voice. Its a true Chicago Story and something you would hear around the campfire. Then Mark Kays from the Rend Lake area is going to tell us about one of his first jobs out of school was to be a laborer and help build Rend Lake. I mean from a creek to the 19,000 acre lake that it is today and the unbelievable crappie fishing we can experience at a little bit of heaven at exit 77 on Interstate 57, at enjoyrendlake.com
