Ep. 20 Black Health Care Workers Matter. Knowing your options and fighting for change.
The  world is in the midst of a global Pandemic and recently after a white plocie officer was videoed killing a man by pinning him down at the neck with his knee therefore cutting off his circulation. This caused global outrage and protest against racial injustice rose up in record numbers. As African Americans continue to fight against injustice and for equality we are reminded that there are other fights that we can not forget.  Yes.  We matter. Our health and our health care workers matters. Charmane sits down with long time friend and Specialist Cassandra Chase who is a Chef, Dula, placenta specialtist, working towards becoming a lactition specialist and more. A bunch of black girl magic. Cassandra gives amazing insight into the world of health care for black women suring pregnancy and what it looks like now during a pandemic. Black would die almost 3x the rate of white women.  Something must be done to combat this, and our voices must be heard. This is an amazing conversation that you, especially parents dont want to miss.  Ms. Cassandra is currently going to school to become a lactation specialist and we are contributing to her tuition.
