Life Book 39 // Iyad Altahrawi and "Trying experiments"
„You probably will have situations where you know, like you'll miss up on things. You miss things up, but that's fine that's life. What's good is that you capture these and you're present to them and you choose what you want to do because choosing to make to do something even if it's not good. Like you will be more comfortable knowing that you chose it not reacted this“ - Iyad Altahrawi How do you react in situations you can't find a solution? How do you learn from setbacks and see the opportunity in your life that you have a choice? So I want you to imagine 2 scenarios: 45 people, one house in the Gaza strip and a war that feels like it might never end. The other picture is standing in a room of highly intelligent fresh graduates from Harvard University in the US while working on the Coca Cola 360 Activation Plan in public affairs and communication. These two scenarios are just a few years apart for Iyad. I am very excited to have Iyad Altahrawi on my mic for episode 39 of the chapters of my life podcast. He is the startup's program manager of Gaza Sky Geeks, the first and only startup accelerator in Gaza. I met Iyad back in 2018 where I was impressed by the determination and passion of his Gaza Sky Geeks teams which he mentored and coached. His life book called "Trying Experiments "is all about his journey overcoming impossible situations such as war and how to self-reflect and create opportunities throughout his living abroad in the US and Germany. Throughout 3 chapters, we explored his ambitions to foster the Palestine entrepreneurship scene and how to create a ribble effect through coaching and mentoring. In other words, his passion for seeing obstacles as opportunities and how to support a community around him. Also, just a heads up, you will notice halfway in the conversation, we faced a very typical problem in Gaza Strip, such as a power cut. Even so, we continued shortly after; it's another reminder that no matter what obstacles are there, the solution to overcome starts with a positive mindset. I hope you enjoy the conversation! Never give up, always look up! —————————————————- CHAPTERS OF MY LIFE BOOK TITLE: Trying experiments CHAPTERS: 1. Foundation 2. Search 3. Life Book 38 // Ibrahim Murad and "Everything Happens for a Reason"
"No two people are alike. We're all different. But every person you meet in your life no matter who they are, whether it's a king or a pauper. You will learn something from that person whether you know that you have learned something today or you will understand that you have learned something in 10 years. Always know that whoever you meet, and whatever conversation you have will teach you something" - Ibrahim Murad In a world where success is defined by external outcomes, state of busyness, we need to learn to prioritize for inner outcomes. In fact, have you ever spoken the word “BUSINESS” slowly? What did you realise? Yes, it sounds like “BUSYNESS”. Being busy is not a state of productivity. It’s a state of prioritisation. The question is are we prioritizing for the right things in life? When we learn to prioritise for ourselves, no matter professionally or private, we learn to stop being busy and START LEARNING TO LIVE. Very excited to have Ibrahim Murad on my podcast episode 38 today. He's a highly motivated professional with over 35 years of experience in commercial activities, business development, sales marketing across multiple industries. But this podcast is not about business, it's about him as a person and who he became over the last years of true inner reflection. I met Ibrahim at the end of 2020 through our coaching journey. Since our first meeting, what stuck with me was his reflection skills, driven and focused approach towards business and personal growth. His life book "Everything Happens for a Reason" contains 3 chapters. It's all about personal growth. It's all about how to overcome setbacks in life but also how to learn from others. We talk about the right perspective in life but also how to find a work-life balance. As he mentioned he doesn|t like chapter names we worked on some best titles for the listeners to better see the content of each chapter. I hope you like this next episode and life book 38 with Ibrahim. This is truly all about personal reflection. Enjoy!

Life Book 32 // Linda McLoughlin and “Hopeful Voyager”
"It's about trying new things, being open to possibility and saying ‘yes' when opportunities knock on my door. “ - Linda McLoughlin This is truly a pre-Christmas special Chapters Of My Life Podcast Episode. For everyone who recaps the year 2020 might realise this year hasn't been all the way, we planned initially back in January. Grief, confusion and hopelessness might have been on each agenda. But it doesn't have to be that way. I had the pleasure to speak with Linda McLoughlin on my Podcast. She is Global Board Director of ICF and Master Certified Coach under the ICF. I first met her end of 2017 in Sharjah UAE and since the first encounter, I was impressed by her coaching capabilities and the energy she brings into the room. I hope while listening, that you get energised with new hopes into the pre-Christmas time and with new energy next year. This podcast episode is all about how to create hope on your journey, or how Linda phrased it create hope on your voyager. In her life book with 5 life chapters which she called "Hopeful voyager" we literally went on a sailing trip. From discovering in her childhood that being an independent thinker and communicator for her siblings shaped her in chapter 1, she kept the sailing theme across her life book. Leaving a save harbour in chapter 2 to set the sail with her marriage at a young age and her first husband which she had from a young age, the drive to prove herself to learn from throwing herself into cold water.  A less hopeful journey we go through in chapter 3, is where loss is a daily theme in her life, but the inside voice that moving on was the only way forward. Chapter 4 is called "Discovering new Land" and it's all about moving from Ireland to UAE but also finding her now new partner and husband. As she said, she loves challenges but also encouraging others to take the leap to start their new sails and find new opportunity and adventure. Her last chapter is all about passing over her knowledge in coaching but also healing and life learnings. She calls it "Map building" to help others building their own ship to set sail to discover new land. You will hear throughout the listening, diversity and equality is a key component for her life journey. With all this said, let's set the sail, go on an adventure and discover new land. Enjoy! —————————————————- CHAPTERS OF MY LIFE BOOK TITLE: Hopeful Voyager CHAPTERS: 1. Safe Harbour 2. Setting Sail 3. Stormy Waters 4. Discovering New Lands 5. Episode 20 with his life book “Follow your Heart”. Back in October 2018, we talked about how to break through entrepreneurship and turn frustration into daily energy. In his Lifebook back then, he had 4 chapters, 1. Welcome to different thinking, 2. Welcome to the junior school, 3. Frustration drives me and 4, Business School. But what happened since that time?  I can tell you a lot in Sam’s life. In this episode 27, you will hear two new life chapters from him since the last recording. Life Book 26 // “Creating Space"
"Just discover what you enjoy most because this is what's gonna be reflected." - Solveig Great to have Solveig Founder of English Yoga Meetup on this week's Podcast Episode 26. I first met Soveig end of 2018 in Munich, at one of her Yoga English sessions. What struck me the most from her is her down to earth attitude and entrepreneurial mindset as a yoga teacher. Together with the belief in making yoga affordable for everyone in a world where contracts, subscriptions at big yoga studies create more worries than relaxation, she is also a forward thinker. English Yoga Meetup is a popup English yoga place in Frankfurt and Munich for ex-pats and everyone new to yoga and wants to join a community to discover the city in a new way. As she says, place to empower you to live well. In her life book Creating Space” she chooses 5 life chapters. From struggle in Paris over Asian and Australian trips and adventures, she encountered what touches her heart. This episode, as we found out during the interview, is truly all about space. In fact creating space for others to find themselves in times where everyone is overloaded with stress and uncertainty. Life Book 25 // Malavika Varadan and “In Search of Words” Add-On Edition
“When you have a voice and know your voice can be heard, you must treat that voice with respect.” - Malavika Varadan What a pleasure to have Malavika Varadan on the Podcast mic again in this episode 25. This podcast is the beginning of a special Add-on edition. Meaning, I follow up with the past guest to see what new life chapters were created in their life since the last recording. This episode is not just an Add-on edition but also the beginning of Vol. 2. You probably ask yourself, wait a minute, what was Vol.1? From 2018 and 2019, I started to record 24 Life books with my guests, which is now Vol.1. After a creative break till 2020, I decided to create Vol.2 a summary of the recordings in 2020/2021. Therefore this recording is the beginning of Vol2. Our last recording was back in July 2018 on episode 15 with her Lifebook title “In Search of Words” and as we will soon hear, a lot has changed in Malavika’s life. In our 2018 episode, we narrowed down three chapters: 1 Finding Words 2 Listening to Stories 3 Telling Stories In this Podcast Add-on, she decided to choose “Empower others to tell their Stories.” as her 4th chapter title. This new chapter is about hiking solo in the Himalayas, work-life balance, loving and laughing. But also about closing a past unforgettable chapter of hers as a Radio presenter and being now a “strong female lead” as a managing director of The Hive. It is a space for almost anything for young kids Grade 1- 8 in speech & drama and communication skills training. As she highlights on her website, a place to create, rehearse, perform, exhibit, to jam, learn, entertain, meet, or watch. I have to add this episode was recorded online, with small audio interruptions but overall a great recording. A way we all have to adjust in this pandemic times. Nevertheless, she brings energy into the room as always with positivity energy, openminded, and a curious mindset. In her own words, she mentioned three phrases that must define her current chapter in life. 1. Finding balance 2. Empowering and empathizing and 3. Loving and laughing With all this, let’s start this truly inspiring talk with Malavika Varadan. Enjoy. She once said, “Because if you don’t take calculative risks as a captain, then you are not doing it right. As a young cricket captain, she increasingly encourages young women from different nationalities to participate in this sport. She is one of those very young captains of a sport where it's hard to get respect and to attract new female team members, especially in a male-dominated sport. Her Life Book called “polydextrous” a word which describes the skillset to draw with both hands. It’s a synonym for her life to balance multiple challenges. In the life book, she got 3 chapters and shares what it takes to rise above the difficulties as a young captain and how to lead as a role model, it’s next goal for her team the World Cup and how to continue working on her designer and illustrator skillset. Enjoy! Never give up 💪, always look up👆 —————————————————- CHAPTERS OF MY LIFE BOOK TITLE: Polydextrous CHAPTERS: 1 Initial stages of cricket 2 Beyond the boundary 3 New beginning ——————————————————
