We are always so busy and always want to incorporate all the new things we are learning, but let’s be realistic!! I will share with you by cherry-picking what I know works the best and also include some that I have NOT EVEN COVERED YET in any other episode!!! This will be so exciting!! We will also talk about the title of my show “Change is the NEW Constant”. I am sure you are familiar with the phase “Change is a Constant” – so why would I stick the word “NEW” in there. How does the word “NEW” make sense? I will explain exactly why this is so important. Lastly, I have some important news that I need to share so stay tuned….

One of the ways to become an expert at something is to learn from our mistakes. I admit that I have made mistakes as a change manager, especially since I have been one for almost 15 years!! I love where I am at now and I love that I am able to share the mistakes I have made so you can learn from them. I also have watched others make mistakes, so I will share those with you too; those mistakes (by-the-way) I have promised myself I will never make. I often say to myself “Geesh, that really did not work!!” and “Why Not!”; mostly, we are learn exactly how to do things, but sometimes it is easier to learn the couple of ways how NOT instead. Join me to learn mistakes to avoid making yourself!!

Now, we all have worked on small changes that are quick, easy and then… you move on…. DONE!! But …what if you have a HUGE change? For those huge, major changes, impacted users need to understand what is coming, why they are being impacted, receive regular updates and constantly be “kept in the loop”. So, what if it is so HUGE and only one announcement gets made, followed by … nothing… until maybe some training until just before “Go Live”? Unfortunately, for the impacted user, that is fairly common. What if, for the most part, info is kept “hush-hush”? or what if they don’t agree with what is happening? ….Where do you even start? How do you move forward? How do you get unstuck from just spinning your wheels? Join me in this session where I will cover how to do this ... and much more.

What Should You Consider For Change? Before you see or know of changes coming, what are things you should really consider? What do you watch for and understand in your organization? Should there be things you keep an eye on? Is there a calm before the storm? Do you ever get PROactive or is it better to just always stay REactive? Guiding a team through transition is not easy. As their leader, you are close to the action. You must be ready to change how they do their jobs for the change to be successful. After the awareness of the change has been built; the next step is to Create Desire. The shift for the focus here goes from the business or company perspective, to the individual’s perspective. It needs to end with “I will be part of this change”, “I am on side”. As managers, you can assist your staff to do this, but can never force them. However, I will provide some tools to show you how. There are so many options and tools that we can use in business and our personal lives to communicate successfully. We will take a look at them and know the ones that are out there and why. Why some are great, and some are even better! Also, let’s look at the newest one, Social Media, that is out there because of the technological advances. It is totally changing how people are communicating and introducing some new enhancements. With being able to communicate with a variety of options, we are able to repeat those important messages as I always say: “5 to 7 times, 5-7 different ways”

For all changes, communication is the key to success and absolutely required for everyone who will be impacted by the change. As such, it is critical to have it as your starting point. You need to let people know what is going on! In this session, I will share with you my “4 Keys to Communication”; and exactly how to use them to enhance your communications. Although, resisting change is a natural and normal response, sometimes it creates big problems because it wasn’t dealt with properly from the beginning.
