Is university the only path after high school ? Will my future look bleak if I choose a path not taken before ? Do I know what I’m doing ? These are some questions, among many more, that Latoya Abulu has faced from when she graduated high school until now. And today she is here to share her journey with us.Latoya Abulu is a freelance journalist whose articles focus on politics, the environment, indigenous issues, and East Asian geopolitics. She has written for Asia Times, The Diplomat, Mongabay, Earth Island, The Ecologist, Fair Observer, Intercontinental Cry, Global Voices and others. On top of that, she is currently an assistant project manager for JUCCCE, the joint US-China cooperation for clean energy.She has interned and volunteered at a refugee camp in Greece, an indigenous village in Ecuador, the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous issues, the United Nations Framework for Climate Change’s COP24, for an environmental organization in Shanghai, China, at an organic farm on the island of Ometepe in Nicaragua and even at an archaeology site in Naples, Italy.
