Dyslexic Experiences – The Truth about Dyslexia and the System
What do you know about dyslexia? How does the system interplays with dyslexia? How does dyslexia affect relationships? Dr. Canute White talks with Michaell Magrutsche who was born with dyslexia. My guest is an outside-the-box thinker. He can resolve paradoxes like why 95% of worldwide artists exist around the poverty level and therefore should be proud to be poor. According to Michaell, “without creativity there are no man-made systems, there would be no world as we know it.” What’s the solution? The solution: My guest discovered patterns within Art that foster creative communication and identify art values outside any systems which always raise our human potential. He suggested creative communication for dyslexic children. #dyslexia #learningdisability #thesystem Guest’s Links: https://twitter.com/michaellart https://michaellm.com/ Now, subscribe to our YouTube channel ( https://youtube.com/channel/UCoc-QGLBLQxIYRa7N-OaRqA). From Mental Health Challenges to becoming a Doctor in New Zealand
Dr. Stephan Neff is an anaesthetist and has had more than a fair share of trauma in his life. He has tried to drown PTSD, depression, and anxiety in industrial doses of vodka but had to learn the hard way that those critters can swim. Nowadays he lives a very different life, where self-love, humility, integrity, and transparency actually mean something. His aim is to demystify addiction and mental health problems. He hosts the show MY STEPS TO SOBRIETY, and has just released the second edition of his book under the same name. Born in Germany, Stephan studied medicine at the prestigious Heidelberg University before traveling and working around the globe. Nowadays he has settled down as an anaesthetist in beautiful New Zealand and has become a bestselling author and advocate for mental health and addiction. Dr. Neff chats with Dr. White about his childhood, addiction, trauma, and depression. #depression #addiction #transformation Guest’s Links: 1. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ5Rgw59jOX4y3iDeMAXpwQ (YouTube show) 2. https://stephanneff.podbean.com/  (podcast) 3. https://www.facebook.com/stepstosobriety 4. https://www.instagram.com/stepstosobriety/ 5. https://www.linkedin.com/in/stephan-neff-author/ 6. https://www.mystepstosobriety.com 7. www.tiktok.com/@stephanneff Now, subscribe to our YouTube channel ( https://youtube.com/channel/UCoc-QGLBLQxIYRa7N-OaRqA). A child’s experience with severe scoliosis: A mother’s hope, desperation, and faith
My guest was Mrs. Gooden Williams – the mother of an amazing child who has experienced severe scoliosis and has overcome with strength and determination. The names of those who had given support were so many that my guest asked me to also express her appreciation to Nekola Pitt and Nadine Hibbert who were not mentioned in the interview. What is Scoliosis? Viewed from the front or back, the spinal column should be straight. When scoliosis is present, you will see a sideways shift of the spine to the right or left. Approximately 10% of the population has small curves (less than ten degrees), which are of no consequence to function or health. This condition is called Spinal Asymmetry. When a diagnostic x-ray is done, the curve of the spine is measured in degrees, as an angle, and this is called a Cobb angle. Scoliosis is defined as a curve greater than ten degrees. It is most common in the thoracic and lumbar regions of the spine and can involve one or both of these regions. The most common curve pattern is a right thoracic curve. This is my one and only child and it scares me when he has seizures. I can only sleep with one eye open because of how fearful I am that something will happen to him. He gets scared, too, and would behave frantically in the house” Mr. Williams also reported that he spent over $40,000-$50,000-JMD monthly to take care of his child. Tragically for some, the church can become a place of great harm. Sandy Phillips Kirkham experienced the deceit and lies that come with being the victim of a wolf in sheep's clothing… her church’s youth minister. After decades of keeping her deep secret, Sandy discovered her voice and has made it her life’s work to be an advocate for others. My guest continues to use her voice to help victims of clergy abuse. Click the link to donate: https://www.paypal.com/donate?hosted_button_id=KT5DSZEECRSL8 It is International Women’s Day 2022 (IWD 2022) and Canyouth’s Exploration explores the challenges experienced by women and how they have overcome. Considering my guest experiences and overcoming, other women worldwide would be empowered to deal with their challenges and be optimistic that things can change and will change through appropriate actions or inactions suggested by my guests: Eileen Franco (Certified Holistic Wellness Transformation Coach), Natassia Wright (Diplomat-NGO HR), Melonie Yates (EFT Therapist), and Stephanie Olson (CEO of Set Me Free Project). Knowing that bias exists isn’t enough, action is needed to level the playing field. Are you in? Will you actively call out gender bias, discrimination and stereotyping each time you see it?” (IWD site as linked below) Dr. Canute White talks with several women who represent most women worldwide that had challenging experiences in various aspects of life. What are some of the challenges faced by women and how can women overcome these challenges?
