What's Missing In Your Business
I remember when I first launched my seasonal event. I was 8 months pregnant with my third child, it was October which was way past consignment sale season, and shoppers had to pay to park. It was a recipe for disaster. When I launched the event, I had a mentor who had been running her own event for I think 10-12 years. It was how I got started. She had her business down to a science and I loved everything about it.It took me a while to come up with that simple formula because I wanted to do all the things at the same time. Sound familiar?I loved her event from the deals I scored to the impact she made in the community. I wanted my event to be just like her event right out of the gate. In reality, there was no way I could have managed an event that size without going through the growing pains and mentorship over the years.  But we think we can, don’t we? Anything that I am saying hitting a little close to home? When I transitioned online several years ago there seemed to be seasons of conversations surrounding working with a coach. There were a few that popped up over and over again, but for me it was like fitting a square peg in a round hole. Finally, I found my person!  I have worked with Madelaine Corke for almost two years. She’s a friend, mentor, and over the shoulder direction that I need.  She sees things and knows things about me that I can’t see yet. Kinda like Daniel’s 10,000 foot helicopter view when he flies over the house or Walmart. For me over the shoulder business direction means Finding ClarityLeaning into AccountabilityFocus on the right Activity so that you can see progress in your businessBuilding out your business value ladder Over the top support I am so thankful for my early mentors and Madelaine who looked over my shoulder and helped me find my way through things that I couldn’t see. What’s missing in your business that you can’t see?

Overcoming Negative Criticism
WHY do we hold onto the negative experiences or feedback more than celebrating the positive?Answer:Because it attacks our belief around whatever it is that we are doing. Our belief is who we are to the core.I don’t think we are afraid of failure. I think we are afraid of our belief being rejected. To me, failure seems more tangible. It is something I did or didn’t do. Belief is my identity. It is who I am or who I am trying to be.It’s personal. One common belief I find across all entrepreneurs is hope. When your hope is crushed, so is your identity.Recently, I was doing a LIVE training and started to share a specific story about a situation that seems like it happened yesterday. It felt like someone came from behind and literally sucker punched me.The change in your pocket would have solved the problem for my customer. It took me a little longer to find my resolution and understand my impact was bigger than me.

What I Have In Common With a Tattoo Artist
We all think our businesses are unique, but when it comes to planning we all want more traffic, leads, and sales.A goal without a plan is just a wish. As part of my Overwhelmed to Organized system, I share an easy way to map out 90 day goal process. The gold behind the process is that it takes what feels like an overwhelming task and breaks it down into manageable steps, so that in 90 days you find yourself on the other side of the goal saying, not only did I do it, but that wasn’t so bad.  What’s next!So how did I connect with a tattoo artist? She is a customer of my Overwhelmed to Organized system and she was speaking my love language.  She has some big future goals that she wants to accomplish. It’s one thing to“think about goals and how you are going to get there” it’s another thing to take them out of your head and put them into a formula. The key to accomplishing your goal is to focus on the steps in the formula consistently even when there are bumps in the road.Ultimately, when you consistently implement the process the transformation and results prepares you for the next 90 days!

Now is The Perfect Time
How many times have you said,“I don’t have time for that!”What you are really saying is that it’s not a priority for you right now.  Many times when we are procrastinating it is because we feel overwhelmed by the time commitment because we don’t have a clear process to get it done.  You know I say time is your biggest asset, but I think it is also important to adjust your expectations when it comes to time.  I am guilty myself. For example, I say to my kids“It will only take a second! “   and they return 30 minutes later and I am in the same spot.  It’s time to make peace with time and adjust your expectations on how long it will take to complete a task and be ok with it.  By saying I don’t have time for that reinforces overwhelm, anxiety, and procrastination.Trust me, when you get on the other side of completing what has become a dreaded task - you are going to feel amazing and probably say to you yourself,“ That wasn’t that bad and I learned something!”The goal from today’s episode is to pick ONE task from the list and complete it.  Don’t start another task, just pick one task and take the steps from start to finish and complete it.
