Episode 80 | THE DEAD NEXTDOOR

Episode 79 | HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD
We had a technical difficulty so, the audio is a little sub-par on this recording but, it's not horrible. We are back and delving into the Mattei & Fragasso 1980 virus zombie flick HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD (Virus, Zombie Inferno, Zombie Creeping Flesh, Dusk of the Dead, and many many more). If you dig al the spaghetti zombie/cannibal flicks that were popping out of Italy in the '80s, you should already be a fan of this movie. We go over some bands that are absolutely worth checking out, Steve gives a Cheers run down, and we even touch on the finer points of Howard the Duck. Crack some beers, hit your bong, and tune in.

Episode 78 | GATES OF HELL (Revisited)
Hey! We finally got off our lazy asses and uploaded our last episode. Back when we first started we would sometimes do three movies an episode and spend more time BSing than talking about the movies. So, we decided to start taking movies from those episodes, that we feel didn't get the attention that they deserved, and revisiting them. The first one is Fulci's 1980 release CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD (Gates of Hell). This was only briefly touched on in an earlier episode and it 100% deserves more attention.

Episode 77 | NIGHT SCHOOL
On this episode we dig in to the 1981 slasher/american giallo NIGHT SCHOOL (Terror Eyes). This is probably the closest you will get to an Italian giallo outside of Italy. We also give a sneak peak to the Mannequin 2 segment Steve will be doing each episode. Add in some music and movie suggestion and you have a well rounded episode. Heads roll, mannequins roll, crack a beer and check it out.

Episode 76 | Mixed Offerings Pt. 2: Electric Boogaloo
This week we are digging into our list of sequels that deserve some mention. We are all over the map with this one; horror, '80s comedy, action. Nothing is off limits.

Episode 75 | MACABRE
What's up everyone!? Burnt Offerings is getting back to business as usual. Cheap beer, cheap gore, and not so cheap tapes. This week we are talking about the Lamberto Bava directed 1980s horror MACABRE (The Frozen Terror). Based off a supposed true story, this is a decent first solo effort by Bava. Aside from the normal list of bands and movies we always give, we also did our first surprise live stream while recording this episode. Cheers to those that found it and tuned in!

Episode 74 | SLAUGHTER HIGH
This episode we are back in the realm of 80s slashers. Talking about the 1986, 'Oh no. Our prank, which was totally not a prank, went horribly wrong and we almost killed someone', slasher SLAUGHTER HIGH. Out of the three better known movies based around April Fools day, this is one of the tops. Per usual we also hit you with a list of bands worth checking out, as well as some movies that we have been watching. So, grab your favorite vide and tune in.

Episode 73 | EYEBALL
We are dipping back into the Lenzi catalog for this one. Talking about his 1975 giallo EYEBALL. Red herrings, red ponchos, red gloved killer; this one has it all. What have we been up to? Well, we are updating our merch starting with the new shirts we just put up in our store. What have we been watching and jamming? Tune in and find out.
85 minutes | Feb 21, 2021
Episode 72 | ZOMBIE 3
This episode we are trying to make sense of the cluster fuck that is ZOMBIE 3. Between subpar scripts, Fulci's early exit from the directors chair, and multiple fill in directors this movie was destined to be the splatter mess that it is. ZOMBIE 3 may not be the sequel we wanted but, it's the sequel we deserved.

Episode 71 | NIGHTMARE CITY
How has it taken us this long to talk about this movie!? We are talking about one of our favorite Lenzi films, 1980s NIGHTMARE CITY (City of the Walking Dead, Incubo). This is THE quintessential radiation infected non-zombie vampire movie. We also hit you with a handful of things worth checking out music and movie wise.
79 minutes | Jan 18, 2021
Episode 70 | BODY COUNT
We are kicking in 2021 by talking about the 1986, filmed in Italy set in America, slasher BODY COUNT directed by RUGGERO DEODATO. This one seems to slip under a lot of radars and should definitely be checked out.

We also on Halloween foods, what we've been watching, and a few bands to dig into.
100 minutes | Sep 7, 2020
Episode 66 | LUNCH MEAT
This week we are grabbing another slab from the SOV stack. Talking about the 1987 one off LUNCH MEAT. Not the best SOV film but, definitely not the worst, and definitely a loved by both of us. We also hit you with some awesome video store memories, try to crack the case of 'what tape did Jared rent that his dad made him return?', and gt into a few musical debates. So, order a pizza, crack some beers, and enjoy the show.
109 minutes | Aug 23, 2020
Episode 65 | SAVAGE WEEKEND
What happens when you make a movie that is behind the times in some aspects, and ahead of the times in others? It gets shelved for 4 years. Which is the case for the 1976 movie SAVAGE WEEKEND (Killer Behind the Mask, The Upstate Murders). In this episode, we discuss this often overlooked entry in the early slasher catalog. We also throw out some bands worth checking out, maybe go on a tangent or two, and Jared might have had more than a few.
86 minutes | Jul 27, 2020
Episode 64 | CITY IN PANIC
Shit still sucks, but we are back. We are clearing the cobwebs by talking about the 1986 Canadian film CITY IN PANIC (aka The AIDS Murders). Aside from talking about, what some would call, a controversial movie, we also hit you with a list of bands worth checking out as well as what we have been watching while on quarantine.

Episode 63 | LAST HOUSE ON DEAD END STREET
We are taking it back to 1973 to talk about the Rodger Watkins THE LAST HOUSE ON DEAD END STREET (The Fun House, Cuckoo Clocks of Hell). This movie had a layer of mystery surrounding it for 20 plus years. Rumors of it being a product of the Mexican Mafia, to it being a legit snuff film made their way around until the year 2000. We also touch on our normal bands and movies we've been checking out. You should check em out too. Either way, crack a cold one and tune in.
95 minutes | Feb 17, 2020
Episode 62 | X-RAY
It's the time of year for Hallmark cards, shitty chocolates, and scorned childhood crushes trying to kill you in a hospital. This episode we are talking about the 1982 Valentine's Day slasher X-RAY (Hospital Massacre, Be My Valentine...Or Else, Ward 13). We ended up doing things a little different by jumping right into talking about the movie instead of boring you with our personal tales. For those like like our witty chit-chat; we saved that for the end. We got bands worth checking out, movies worth watching, and Steve found that the claw is the law.
