This week's Brother Sister TV Time finds Dane doing the impossible - remembering every moment of Friday Night Lights S2 Ep. 3 ("Are You Ready For Friday Night") without any notes! That's easy to do with a memorable episode dedicated to scheming Buddy, Tim pondering life, and "The Slap Heard Around Dillon". Discussion Points - Buddy takes Tim under his wing and they share one of those hilarious/classic FNL scenes, Justine reveals insider knowledge after watching the ep with commentary by Connie Britton and Aimee Teegarden, and Lyla takes Tim to church (cue Hozier). Plus, Dane and Justine ask a very important question: who is a more adorable child actor - Jonathan Lipnicki or Jacob Tremblay? In the second segment, Justine was enlightened by the television portion of the CNN documentary "The Eighties". The siblings discuss 80s shows that they originally knew nothing about (Hill Street Blues, St. Elsewhere, Dallas) and how there has always been edgy TV pushing boundaries. Plus, Dane and Justine talk about their favorites from that era, including "very special episodes" of Growing Pains, Punky Brewster, and Saved By The Bell. Thank you for listening! In between introducing a game of Pee-Wee's "Secret Word", the siblings discuss season two, episode two of Friday Night Lights, "Bad Ideas". The people in Dillon are having numerous bad ideas, including (but not limited to): leaving a friend at a gas station, covering up unlawful activity, getting drunk at a school function, accepting a job far away from your family, and taking a baby out on a long walk during a heat wave. Basically, there are 99 problems and a baby is one of them. Other points of discussion: how great Mrs. Saracen looks in a tiara and Julie's magical, "Swede" confidence boosting tube top, plus, Dane worries that coach doesn't own any jammies and just sleeps in his cargo shorts. In the second segment, Dane and Justine talk about the importance of pacing and characters in comparing two lawyer themed shows - The Good Wife and Better Call Saul. Also, have you heard the sound that plays every time something "bad" happens on a reality show? Yup, the siblings have too, and have something to say about it. Thanks again for listening!
