B-Roll 027: Quick Flick: Girl Vanish
Rob got married last Saturday so the boys decided to do a shorter episode this week which they've so aptly titled a "Quick Flick". The boys recorded this episode and the previous episode back-to-back but things will be back to normal next week. Rob's turn to come up with suggestions this week and the boys finally land on the film "Girl Vanish". The Gone Girl reboot starring Casey Affleck instead of Ben. The boys roll horror so the film takes a very strange turn where it becomes more Saw than Gone Girl. Squash Boston (Casey Affleck) is accused of murdering his wife, Squamy, who mysteriously disappears. While in attendance at a press conference, one woman who looks familiar asks Squash to a local diner to get more answers. Who is this mysterious lady? Is it Squash's wife? Will we find all of this out? The answer is yes in this horror reboot of Gone Girl. It's 'Girl Vanish'! Welcome to B-Roll, the comedy podcast where two filmmakers try to write a screenplay using the power of random dice rolls. Here, we encourage chaos and actively search for it. So, each week, one of the presenters (Robert Taylor, Matthew Bauckman) suggests three movie titles to the other. From there on in, the dice are rolled and a Hollywood blockbuster is created. Episodes are released every Thursday! Keywords: comedy, film, films, funny, hollywood, improv, improvisational, movie, movies, screenwriting, script, theatre, theater

B-Roll 026: Quick Flick: Taxi Rider - Community Special 2
So, a long title for this one. Rob's getting married this Saturday so the boys decided to do a shorter episode this week which they've so aptly titled a "Quick Flick". The boys recorded this episode and the next episode back-to-back but things will be back to normal once Rob is a married man. This week they took suggestions from the community for the second ever Community Special episode. They finally decide upon the film "Taxi Rider", starring Patrick Stewart as a talking car after his body was transferred after being victim to a hit-and-run accident. Him and his son must then hunt down the man who killed him to get some vigilante justice. It's the talking car film starring Patrick Stewart that you never knew you needed. It's "Taxi Rider". B-Roll 025: Hook, Line and Murder
Matt outdoes himself this week with his film idea. A horror police procedural following the Maritime Murderer. Fishermen are dying left, right and center and it's up to Derek Bowie, the Captain of the Coast Guard Homicide department to put a stop to this maritime menace. It's what the press are calling "The Zodiac killer of the sea", complete with cryptic messages written using pieces of flesh attached to hooks. Things get personal and maybe Derek shouldn't trust the people around him. Everyone's a suspect but maybe Derek can use his seatime detective skills and put a stop to the killer. It's "Hook, Line and Murder". There's also a lot of discussion about the pronunciation of the word 'buoy' so prepare yourselves for that. B-Roll 024: Legends of the Fall
So we're attempting taking a second run at a film that we think got title wrong. Last time it was Baby Driver (where's the baby Edgar?!) and this time it's the Brad Pitt film Legends of the Fall. We get it, maybe the fall was metaphorical but we demand someone fall from somewhere high! Our film follows our clumsy hero who comes back from Vietnam and is shunned by his community after his injuries cause him to embarrass himself in front of the whole village. He gets sent to the drunk tank and meets a daring stuntman who gives him the push he needs. After a murder plot and some homoerotic subtext we finally get the fall we demanded. Join us this week for "Legends of the Fall". Welcome to B-Roll, the comedy podcast where two filmmakers try to write a screenplay using the power of random dice rolls. B-Roll 023: Tuesdays with Meathead
See? We are back to a regular schedule! Last week wasn't a one-off and we're gonna be hitting Thursday every week from here on out. It was Matt's turn to suggest his movie titles this week and the boys ended up settling upon "Tuesdays with Meathead". An old man named Edgar is sent to a retirement home after hearing the voice of God where he must share a room with his high school bully. Times have changed but his school-rival, Marty, hasn't. Edgar falls in love for the first time since the death of his wife with whom he decides to prank Marty and get his own-back one final time. What could that prank be? Saran wrap on the toilet? A bucket of water over a door? Cutting his hands off with an axe? Find out on B-Roll! P.S. Matt seems to dislike Rogue One. B-Roll 022: Baby Driver
The boys are back from a 2 week medical hiatus and start the show by apologizing and then going into graphic detail why they couldn't record. Skip the first 10 minutes or so if you don't want to hear about Rob's intestines. Rob makes some suggestions this week but they finally land upon Baby Driver: the Edgar Wright film that the boys think Edgar didn't quite get right regarding the title. The first question the boys want answered is: Edgar, where's the baby? It then becomes a fantasy film about a chariot racer whose soul is transferred into a baby as it is being born. It's a tale of high fantasy of elves and chariot-men with whips for hands and I think we can all agree that the boys' film is a superior vision and Edgar should be ashamed of himself. B-Roll 021: A Most Magical Rose
The boys are sticking to the basics again this week and decide on the film A Most Magical Rose. A fedora-wearing basement-dweller needs to find a date for his sister's wedding. Due to lacking any social skills, he ventures into Christopher Walken's shop (the one from Click, Nine Lives and maybe Gremlins) to purchase a personal pleasure doll. Little does he know, the doll is able to put a little bit too much magic into his love life. It's a tale as old as time itself. Boy meets girl. They decide to get married. The girl's creepy brother brings a sex doll to their wedding and ruins the whole thing. Classic. B-Roll 020: Polite Front
Back to basics and where it all began this week. Rob pitches 5 random generator ideas just like how he used to way, way back. Matt picks Polite Front, a valet service who are hiding something behind a lavish exterior. TV personality Rordon Gamsay visits for his TV show Valet Nightmares and finds a secret hiding in an abandoned car parking facility. Rordon and a young valet must then fight the mafia and police corruption to get to the bottom of the mysterious container. B-Roll 019: Monkey Business
Coming at you this week with cuts so deep you won't know where they came from. We've got both deep cuts about Friends and David Schwimmer's dick magic and the deepest of Kevin Spacey cuts. Get out the band-aids cos these cuts are deeeeep. Matt's turn to pitch this week and a lack of preparation leads the boys to the romantic comedy Monkey Business. A pharmaceutical executive is swapped, Freaky Friday style, into the body of a monkey after an incident at the monkey nightclub Bänänä. Our businessman must then navigate his life as a monkey while also falling in love with his monkey trainer. Things are then taken for a turn when an assassin is called in to kill our businessman. B-Roll 018: Uncovered Thought
Coming back with another film this week with the help of the random word generator. The boys discuss some fitness tips as Matt talks about trying to get back in shape. They discuss their accompanying fitness podcast "Muscle Boys" where throwing bags of flour over their shoulders in the supermarket makes for great, free exercise. A crime film about a diamond thief who is out of his luck decides to join an archaeological dig to find a lost civilisation with David Schwimmer. However, his intentions are less than good but none of that matters as they discover more than they bargain for. B-Roll 017: The Ballad of MC Kevin
It's episode 17 and we're here to say, we can make up raps any day! Matt suggests delving into the origins of one of our favorite and most beloved B-Roll characters: MC Kevin. Growing up isn't easy, especially for a 12 year old rap lover going to a religious school. Back to school for the first day after summer break, Kevin makes enemies with Phat Eric who challenges Kevin to a fight. It's only when the principal steps in do these two boys decide to sqaush their beef with rap. It's the origin story nobody needed to hear. It's the Ballad of MC Kevin! B-Roll 016: Muscle Foot
Back again this week and Rob starts with a new segment of Google Translate Film Titles. Starts off easy this week but can Matt identify all three films? It's then Rob's turn to pitch and the random word generator is back with a mystery film that shows the origin story of our newest hero Muscle Foot. Accidentally zapping his own foot with the embiggening ray, Gerald is left with a giant foot the size of a door. An assassin then sets out to destroy the ray and its creator to stop the ray from ever becoming a commercial product. Who would do this? Why would someone want to get rid of such technology? Why does Rob find the idea of George Clooney with pantyhose on his head so alluring? Find out in Muscle Foot! B-Roll 015: Private Dick
Another week, another film. Matt's turn to pitch this week and the boys come up with a detective plot set in the 70s. The son of a famous, billionaire filmmaker is kidnapped in suspicious and potentially damaging circumstances. Detective Geoffrey Richards, famous for finding the Mayor's kidnapped daughter, is called in to help solve the case. Who is the mysterious Zoo Keeper? Why is Geoffrey so misogynistic? Why are all these beautiful young men dressed in tight spandex animal costumes? We'll find out in the thriller of the year: Private Dick! B-Roll 014: Up in the Air
This week heralds the return of the much-loved movie trivia, much to Matt's disdain. It's Rob's turn to pitch and the boys land on the film Up in the Air: a drama about a three-times world champion juggler who has an accident causing him to lose his depth perception. He hears of a mythical collection of juggling balls guarded by the Ballguardians and the Jugguli at Penn State University that may grant him the power to juggle again. All the while, he's searching for his estranged 'birth mother' and running from his nemesis who has become a hive mind with his juggler followers. Will our hero find the mythical balls? B-Roll 013: The Wormhole Gang
How to follow up on last week's commercial success? A difficult task but the boys are on a roll. Two good films in two weeks, can they make it three? This week's film is a Spielberg inspired time-travel mystery that follows a rag-tag group of kids in a small, foggy town. Johnny's parents are splitting up and his mother is taking him out of state to live with her parents. He has one last day with his friends to try and patch things up, but is it enough? Maybe if he could travel back in time, he may just be able to. It's The Goonies meets Back to the Future in this summer's family blockbuster western: The Wormhole Gang. B-Roll 012: Baby Boomers
Back to normal this week and it's Rob's turn to make title suggestions this week. That's not all! Rob impresses Matt with some amazing movie trivia that put Matt's knowledge to shame. They then hit back big this week with a star-studded line-up including both Robert DeNiro and Morgan Freeman. Two retired criminals decide on taking on one last job to stick it to Generation Z by robbing a millennial-run social network company with explosives. Not all is as it seems with lots of twists and turns taking us on a thrilling adventure in the family film of the year: Baby Boomers! B-Roll 011: Night of the Living Directors - Community Special
Special episode this week. We took fan suggestions from Reddit and landed on Night of the Living Directors. Two procrastinating film students resurrect Stanley Kubrick to do the heavy lifting for their film. Little did they know, dealing with the dark arts has caused a disaster that may wipe out all of the USA. Making deals with the devil is not all it seems and brings the call to arms of another director to stop the impending doom. Will our two film students Mark and Bob (nothing like us) be able to create a masterpiece? Will they be able to stop the impending doom of the USA? Will Gary Busey find his way into another episode? B-Roll 010: Pseuda-fed
What's that? An episode title containing three different puns?! You betcha. It's our 10th episode blowout bonanza! This week the boys took some inspiration from the Coen Brothers and unearthed the Coen Brothers' classic Pseuda-fed from the vaults. We all know the classic story: a federal agent gets his briefcase mixed up with that of a Mexican Cartel leader and must then juggle being embroiled in a meth dealing operation and being part of a love triangle with two fiery Spanish twins. It's a Spanish Novella meets the Coen Brothers in all the right ways. There are also lots of briefcases. We honestly hope you like briefcases. B-Roll 009: Memory Bank
The boys are back and Rob decides to come up with some ideas of his own instead of relying on a random name generator. They tackle a high-concept sci-fi thriller starring a few familiar faces. In a not too distant future, good memories can be sold at a premium rate, leaving nothing but bad memories behind. An agent of the Memory Bank sees some unsettling memories and tries to re-connect with a loved one while also trying to discover who is behind this nefarious operation. B-Roll 008: A Murder Most Foul
The boys tackle a Tarantino-esque alternate history film where they ask the great historical question: what if Ray Charles were tasked with investigating the murder of the century: the assassination of JFK? The story goes through twists and turns in a film-noir thriller complete with love intrigue, plot twists and uncontrollable defecation. We all know it was Lee Harvey Oswald, or was it?
