For episode 11 of this podcast, we will be discussing the life of Jack Nicholson: Acclaimed Actor and Academy Award winner. On April 22nd of 1937, Jack Nicholson was born. His mother June, was seventeen at the time and was a dancer. Fo many years, the identity of Jack’s father would remain contested. June was married to Don Fucillo, who was already married years prior. Due to all of this, June’s parents agreed to raise him, with June herself taking the role of Jack’s sister. Nicholson would learn about this years later, in 1974. Nicholson was raised in Neptune City and Spring Lake, New Jersey, where he became a Roman Catholic and attended high school at Manasquan High School. He was voted Class Clown by the school in 1954. However, Nicholson also did not like school much. For an entire school year, he attended detention. In 1957, in order to avoid the draft for the Korean War, Nicholson enrolled in the California National Guard. He left in 1962, after working for long hours of extended work.
