In this New Year's Special, Nathan and Jason watch all six films in the first wave of what has come to be known as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This includes: Iron Man (2008), The Incredible Hulk (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011), Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), and The Avengers (2012). We learn that Thor is an anime, Joss Whedon invented one-liners, and we all have a little Rain Man in us, especially the Hulk. Also, fuck Coulson (Phil). If we still have a podcast by next new year, that's another fifteen hours of movie.

In this episode: It's Christmas time so let's take a break from watching Die Hard and Die Hard 2 to enjoy Satoshi Kon's Tokyo Godfathers. One of many masterpieces by the filmmaker who was taken too late, Kon's film depicts the journey three homeless people go on to find out why the baby they found in the trash was abandoned in the first place. Let the coincidences pile up and the ghosts of Christmas future and past intersect.
