014: Employee Shortages, Minimum Wage, and Video Cards
The COVID Lockdowns have led to call kinds of fuckery that make one question which is worse, COVID or COVID Lockdowns. The all–powerful government has thrown out cash to everyone, which seems bonkers, and that’s had some interesting consequences. Who would have predicted that COVID Lockdowns would lead to video cards that are triple the price?

#013: COVID Vaccine vs Real Job
I was 49% against the COVID vaccine and ended up getting it anyway, but I’m 100% against real jobs….and do it anyway, too.

#012: COVID Exit Strategy vs Vaccine Passports
The word on the street is the vaccine is actually a success. It’s time to wind this COVID thing down, right? Maybe we drink an overpriced beer in a shitty, crowded bar again? Nope. They’ve introduced this notion of the “Vaccine Passport” which ONLY makes sense if the vaccines don’t work….unless “they” are up to something more sinister.

#011: Slave vs Victim: Which Is Worse?
I claim that being a victim is a horrible state to be in and it ain’t all that worse than being a slave. I wouldn’t wish either on my worst enemies. I claim that the people making others feel like victims are true scum….absolutely selfish bastards.

#010: The Fire Ain’t Blazin’
Am I at peace or have I sold out to a life of mediocrity? The real job is here. The job ain’t so bad….it ain’t GREAT. It just ain’t bad. It’s a series of tasks that contribute to the system and they pay alright. I can’t complain. It sure beats roofing in January….or June, July, August, September, and probably all the other months, too. So, this episode is a bid different. I feel like that fire that normally burns in my is just chillin’. I’m not in pain. I’m just chill. Why? I hate “being chill”. I don’t even talk that way. Why would I type that way? That’s what this oddball episode is about.

#009 – Your Twitter Profile – The Great Divide
I’ve noticed a few things about Twitter after being on Twitter a month. 1) There are a TON of depressed people….way more than I’m used to seeing in real life.2) There are a TON of people that list their identity as the most interesting thing about them in their Twitter profile.

#008: Kid-Traumatizing Cyborg Doctors
After an eye surgery 2 years ago, my soon had a few clues that made us fear that we were about to have a new battle with eye stuff. In this episode, I’ll ponder the role of cyborg technology in optical health care and explain why those robots should definitely consider downloading the bedside manner program. I’ll talk about how I’m a shitty dad (again). I’ll mention the lessons I’ve learned in dealing with child trauma.

#007 – The 2 Party Serial Killer In Your Basement
I went a little more topical than normal. Biden waging his war (well, bombing at least) on the “Iranian-backed militias” in Syria and the fact that not enough people were talking about it motivated me. It The duopoly is a very interesting tool for creating both an enemy that you must destroy and allowing your allies to get away with murder. It kinda makes you wonder why anyone would be an ally with a murderer.

#006: Abortion, The Left and Right Are Both Wrong…Again
Abortion hasn’t been a hot topic in this post-COVID world. Technically, all the people that don’t wait until they are married to engage in the super deed should be social distancing. If you buy into the storyline, no one should have had sex in 2020, give or take. Here’s what we know about good ol’ abortion. 1) There was a thing that was alive and, due to decisions of the things mother, that thing is no longer alive post-abortion. 2) Maybe the mom has a point and forcing her to have a kid in the middle of Auschwitz or equivalent is a bad bad bad thing for the baby. My argument is the left and the right tend to completely ignore the child when it comes to the topic of abortion. The left calls a growing living thing a choice. I’m fairly certain I destroy that argument in this episode. The right doesn’t care what happens to the unwanted child after its born. At least they have no plan to take care of unwanted children which they force to be born. This almost seems more criminal. I propose a solution although it’s highly vague and quite indirect. I say we all have an obligation to volunteer on some level to improve the lives of everybody. Technically, participating in capitalism is doing this. Excellent. Then, we should have a free thing we do: Cub Scouts, baseball coaching, etc in which all kids can learn and maybe build the skills and traits that lead to winning as adults so they won’t need abortions.

#005: The AI Music Takeover
I’ve heard it say said that artificial intelligence (AI) will never make “real” music. I suspect it already has or, at least, certainly will. Making music fits the pattern matching capabilities of an advanced AI quite well. In my mind, there’s not that much difference between the way humans learn adapt and the way “machine learning” or “deep learning” operates. In fact, those aren’t much different than Darwinian evolution or good, ol’ trial-and-error. I think there are people that truly believe that music comes from a “special place in the heart”. Maybe it can. I tend to believe that it doesn’t matter WHERE it came. The impact of music on the human species is completely undeniable. However, in my experience, the writing and recording of music can be completely decoupled from its end result….and that’s ok. The only thing that matters is a singer appears to be feeling whatever they are supposed to be feeling. It turns out that AI can fake these repeated patterns just as well as a human can, in theory. So can AI take over making music? Yup.
