Overcoming Shame Caused By Trauma, Bad Experiences, Or Even Mistakes

Your Hopeful Sister is wrapping up this fifth season on trauma with discussing how to overcome shame caused by those terrifying experiences. Shame can enter our hearts through either abuse, a terrifying event, a painful and humiliating experience or even through poor choices of our own. Healing can come from shame, which is basically identifying oneself with what has happened to you or what bad decision you may have made. As believers in Christ, we should be mindful of how our Lord has taken even our shame with Him on the cross. It is no longer ours to carry. Learning how to unload shame is integral for our healing.
