Emily Dreyfuss wanted to be two things when she was younger: an actress and a poet. Today, she is on TV quite a bit...not acting in a drama, but as an occasional expert on cable news (though some could argue cable news has as many twists and turns as a Shonda Rhymes show)! But Dreyfuss spends most of her time writing. Not poetry, though her work is so beautiful the lines read like carefully crafted stanzas. Dreyfuss writes articles on culture and tech. As a senior writer at Wired Magazine, Dreyfuss has had to battle her share of trolls, but they've never stop her from being her authentic self, pursuing her career, and starting a family.

Today she is CEO of the Tech Connection, a company that connects diverse talent to tech companies. We’ve mentioned tech’s diversity problem before.At Google and Facebook, for example, only 1% of employees are Black, while Black people make up nearly 13% of the population.Only 16% of techies are women and women make up half of the population. Melissa’s work to increase diversity in tech has earned her a US Presidential Service award from then President Obama, and a young alumni service award from her alma mater, University of Massachusetts Amherst. This week...Oprah Winfrey confirmed she is the QUEEN OF EVERYTHING during her speech at the Golden Globes Sunday. Many say she is flirting with the idea of running for president, but are her powers better used outside the oval office? There are conflicting opinions out there. I guess it's up to Ms. Winfrey to decide. Our interview this week is with Jessica Brondo Davidoff, a 35-year-old serial entrepreneur. Negative feedback helped her start and successfully run two companies. At 22-years-old, she started The Edge in College Prep, a New York City based company that combines college test prep with admissions counseling. Eight years later, she started launched Admitted.ly, a web and mobile platform that utilized fun Buzzfeed-like quizzes to match students to their ideal colleges and universities. Admittedly raised more than 2 million dollars in seed-funding then in 2016, the company was acquired and is now called, MyOptions. The company has more than 6 million users and prides itself on being free for students to use so that all potential co-eds have a more equal playing field when it comes to college admissions. Two women co-anchoring the most watched morning show. This is amazing! Did Hoda set a plan for this. Did she visualize her ascension to the top of morning news? Maybe. Visualization is a powerful tool. If you imagine you have already achieved success or already gotten what it is you want (a new job, romantic partner, etc.), it can happen! Not simply because you visualized it, but because visualizing will make you put things in to action to get what you want. And finally, did you get engaged this holiday?
