The Adventure Begins!
Well hello there!
First, thank you for entering my site, this is my first one so please bear with me as I work out the kinks.
I’ve decided to create a podcast for various reasons, but the deepest one is my love for language learning. I will warn you though, I have certain beliefs and opinions about language learning that may go against some widespread thoughts, which will be covered in detail in the posts to come.
To begin, my name is Jeremiah Weiland, and I grew up in the greater Seattle area of Washington State, USA. I haven’t always been enthralled with language learning, but like most, I have always wanted to be able to speak another language or two, or ten.
When I was in middle school, I remember trying to learn Japanese and German by myself. It went absolutely terrible for reasons I will be laying out in more detail later, and after those two horrible experiences with trying to acquire a second language, I pretty much gave up on the dream and concluded that I was not gifted in language learning and that it wasn’t for me.
Boy was I wrong! I want this podcast to get you so fired up to learn languages that you cant help but believe that you were always meant to learn and use language throughout your entire life! I want to have the great privilege of assisting you in conquering myths, misconceptions, fears, and any other roadblock that is hindering you from experiencing this awesome gift of language that we all possess!
