Better Than Yesterday
What's it like for someone who never gets sick to suddenly get the COVID-19 symptoms? And then, what's it like to recover? Dr. Ed LeQuire is a chiropractor in Rochester, MN who, with his family, lives a very organic and holistic lifestyle. Yet even very healthy chiropractors are not immune from this new strain of virus. Listen to Dr. LeQuire share his story of coming down with, and then recovering from, this illness. To what does he attribute his positivity and recovery? Ed talks about his MasterMind group, which he is involved with through LifeWorks University (www.lifeworksu.com) and his chiropractic practice is Vitality Chiropractic in Rochester (https://www.facebook.com/VitalityChiropracticAndMassage/) UPDATE: On Wednesday, May 13 Dr. Ed reported that he had tested for the COVID antibodies and that test showed that he, indeed, had the virus and now has the antibodies. It is very likely that his family also has had the virus, and as of this writing on May 14, his wife and oldest daughter still haven't totally recovered their senses of smell and/or taste.

What do Skateboarding, Video Games and Bodybuilding Have in Common?
Think you are too old to learn new things? Perish the thought! I learned so much in this conversation with Carl Wallin, a former body builder and current financial advisor with Mass Mutual in Bismarck, N.D. While he is only 27 years old (and, admittedly, looks like he's 10), Carl shares his journey from being a small kid with Napoleon complex to a determined skateboarder and video game champion to his struggle with depression and anxiety which led to his amazing determination to become an award-winning bodybuilder and a champion of positivity. (Yes, that's Carl in the photo behind him.) Just one of the many nuggets from Carl:  "Don't set your standards too low. Open others' eyes and show them the immense value of raising your standards."

Lessons Learned, Awarenesses Enhanced
Do you ever get in your own way and make things mean something when they really don't? No? It's just me? Maybe those things you are taking personally really aren't as important as you thought they were when you were in busy busy busy mode. The Shift is On
In this messy middle where we find ourselves as this is being recorded on April 20, 2020, things shift by the minute. How are you is less of a casual greeting these days and more of a crucial check-in for us minute by minute. Join me as I talk through some ideas about the distinction between where we have been and where we are going as far as leadership, communication and accountability go. Force, push, grind, crush – all have been business and success strategies in the past. Will these produce the results we say we want in the future? Who knows? Your intuition and your higher self know. Who/what are you trusting right now? I mention the book “The Twenty-One Skills of Spiritual Intelligence” by Cindy Wigglesworth in today’s message.

Social Excellence in Crisis
It comes as no shock that March 2020 will go down in history as a monumental time to be in the world. This interview with Robert Quinn was recorded on March 30, 2020 in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic and the information he provided was more relevant than ever. Here's a taste: Some leaders go through crisis and do unnatural things and their organization flourishes. But their awareness changes through the crisis and it's possible then to ask a question most leadership can never ask. That question is: If crisis can create social excellence without leadership, can leadership create social excellence without crisis? The moment a leader can ask that question, they are going someplace no one ever goes. They are living by the highest accountability of leadership. Who will you be on the other side of this crisis? Someone focused on comfort, self-interest, hypocrisy, and pride or someone focused on purpose, integrity, empathy, and humility? Don't miss a minute of this important conversation with author, professor and leadership consultant, Robert Quinn.
