Ep. 6 - Definitely My Tempo (Guest - Hassanen Attabi)
Whiplash is one of the best contemporary films about higher education, passion and music. But is it about music or something more?I was stoked to have an actual drummer on the show to talk about the nuances in Whiplash - to include drumming! Hassanen Attabi is an author and musician. His book "Listen to Me" is available on Amazon and Target.

Ep. 5 - Did someone order a B-movie? (Guest - Jackson Delgado)
Hey everyone! This episode I talk with Jackson Delgado about a film so terrible that it makes me appreciate the finer things in life. Return of the Killer Tomatoes (1988) is the first sequel to the cult-classic Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (1978). Yes, this film is quite awful. But it's not without its charm. I found it funnier than expected and it has a fun performance by a very young and charismatic George Clooney. I truly appreciate my guest for recommending such a wayward choice for an episode. Jackson Delgado is an aspiring filmmaker and screenwriter from the San Diego area. He carries a lot of film knowledge and it was a treat to trade critiques with him on the value of cult movies.

Ep. 4 - We are Venom! (Guest - Marissa)
My daughter Marissa is back on the show! This is actually a previously recorded episode from early 2021, so some of the material is dated. But, she and I had a fun quick chat about Venom! We also touched on the future of Spider-man movies and the MCU as a whole. This kid is so fun to talk with and I hope y'all enjoy!

Ep. 3 - Ted Lasso should be seen by everyone! (Guest - Nicole Rubin, MS, LPC)
Are you ready to BELIEVE?! This week I talk about Ted Lasso, the incredible soccer drama on Apple TV, with the wonderful human and therapist Nicole Rubin. From cultural differences to mental health significance, Ted Lasso is undoubtedly one of the most important shows right now. There’s so much to unpack in only 2 short seasons, but we did our best! You may not learn a lot about soccer from this episode (because we sure don’t know much about it either), but Nicole’s insight into the mental state of the characters is so dang interesting! And that is something everyone can appreciate! Nicole Rubin, MS, LPC is a licensed therapist in the state of Georgia. Her private practice is listed here: https://www.soulsciencehealing.com

Ep. 2 - I'm going to SXSW! (Guest - Melissa Hannon)
I’m back! It’s been a wild year and I want to thank everyone for their support. I’ll get right to it, I got accepted to go & cover SXSW (South by Southwest) in Austin, TX next March. My chat today is with Melissa Hannon, editor-in-chief for Horror Geek Life and 7-time SXSW-alum. She’s a Texas girl, so we talk Texas! We chat about Texas culture, Texas food, and of course SXSW. We also cover the incredibly bad horror movie from the early 1980s called The Final Terror. Guys this was a great chat and I hope you enjoy it and I have more Blood Sweat and Popcorn coming soon!

Ep. 39 - Krampus (2015) - Review
What better way to celebrate the holiday season than an updated retelling of the classic folktale of the anti-Santa Clause? Adam Scott and Toni Collete star in this horror/comedy that makes you never want to drop the holiday spirit no matter who comes to visit. My sister Grace is my guest and we had a blast chatting about this modern Christmas favorite!

Ep. 37 - The Lost Boys (1987) & Near Dark (1987) - Retrospective
This audio essay dives into the similarities and differences between two of the greatest vampire classics to come out of the 1980s. From ethics to music, the staying power of these classics cannot be denied.

Ep. 36 - Fatman (2020) - Rapid Review
I don't know if there is any turning back for Mel Gibson, but at least he leans in hard into his role as a jaded Santa Clause. This thriller/comedy also stars Walter Goggins as the hamster-loving assassin hired to take out jolly old St. Nick. It makes you wonder what type of holiday film will come out next year that will try to push the envelope.

Ep. 35 - Fright Night (1985) - Retrospective
Some films stay with us forever. This 1985 vampire romp is no different. Join me as I reminisce about one of my favorite horror films ever! From the music, to the wardrobe to the fun characters, Fright Night has it all!

Ep. 33 - Why Zombies? - Minisode
Zombies. They're just so dang fun. Between comic books, movies and video games, they just seem to be everywhere all the time. My guest Andrew and I explore why zombies are so much fun and what they mean to us and society.

Ep. 32 - 28 Days Later (2002) - Review
Let's jolt back to the start of the century where zombies started going were fast! The shambling corpses weren't so slow and you had to get in some cardio in order to survive. Andrew comes back on the show and we dive deep into this remarkable entry into the zombie realm by Danny Boyle!

Great set pieces, performances, blood. It's everything you would want out of a Friday the 13th film. Check out my review, but more importantly, go see this film!

Ep. 30 - Peninsula (2020) - Rapid Review
Zombies are still en vogue apparently with this action packed sequel to 2016's Train to Busan. This film centers on a small group returning to Korea (the Peninsula) 4 years after the initial outbreak and the events of Busan to retrieve money locked in a truck that they believe will bring them absolution. Once they land, they discover they aren't the only humans left in the zombie filled landscape. .

Ep. 29 - Enola Holmes (2020) - Rapid Review
Millie Bobby Brown leads an amazing cast in this fun, inspired mystery adventure. Playing the younger sister of the famous detective, Brown's Enola Holmes is a true treat to watch. This is a perfect gateway movie for people knowing Brown only for her role in "Stranger Things" as she ascends into more mature -- but still entertaining -- territory.

Ep. 28 - The Devil All The Time (2020) - Rapid Review
Now out on Netflix, this film boasts an all star cast, including Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Bill Skarsgård and Sebastian Shaw, that traverse the rough country life during the middle of the twentieth century. Crime, religion, passion and family move the characters around the board. This movie is heavy and packs a hefty punch. It is so tightly delivered though, you cannot look away.
