Episode 129: Lauren Ash v. A Reply Guy
Lauren Ash (Superstore) joins us for a look inside a popular actor's mentions, as a guy who assumed he was going to be ignored got just about the opposite treatment from Lauren and her followers until HE needed to block HER to avoid being messed with further. Elsewhere, the episode starts off hot as John delves into a years-old debate with Stefan, as we talk bad Jeopardy contestants, Canadian pronunciations, colorblindness, and our favourite online couple breaking up. Plus, we get a MASSIVE scoop about Cameo from Lauren and we dig into the new weird phenomenon that's got her avoiding TikTok. For something you won't want to avoid, check out patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to FOUR bonus episodes every single month. This week, we've got a mailbag coming up with fan favourite Chris James and speaking of Cameo, we just announced our latest live show: a Cameo feature with Adam Christie! It's all on our Patreon and you don't wanna miss it! Lauren Ash is an actor who just finished up her six-season run on the hit show Superstore. Her podcast, True Crime and Cocktails, can be found wherever you get your pods and she can be followed on Twitter at @Lauren_Ash.

Episode 128: Ben Flores v. Jerry Saltz
It's our first-ever "anti-block" this week, as art critic Jerry Saltz takes what would be a likely block situation for 95% of Twitter's genteel population and turns it into a success story with our guest, Ben Flores (writer, podcaster). It's also the first time a guest provides us with an imgur to tell the whole story, and it's a good one. The Blocked Boys tell some other good stories on the episode too, as we talk sandwiches, risotto, Doogie Howser, Stefan's home theatre set-up, masculine self-help books, and John gives us an update on the BB's quest to buy art from Tony Posnanski. If you want to purchase more art from us, you can head on over to patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to FOUR bonus episodes every month. This past week, we posted the latest Hell Block as Stefan talks about being blocked by Chuck Wendig, and we let loose the VOD from our live show with David J. Roth as we curated 90 minutes of insane sports bloopers. We've also got newsletters, the famed $100 Club, and more, so check it all out on our Patreon today. Ben Flores is a writer and podcaster whose podcast about a fake TV show, Please Save Me, is found wherever you get your podcasts. He can be followed on Twitter at @limitlessjest.

Episode 127: Dan O'Sullivan v. Piers Morgan
Dan O'Sullivan (writer, Welcome to Sullyville) appears on a main episode of the show for the first time, and him and John find themselves to be kindred spirits as John is uncharacteristically "on one" throughout the whole episode. Speaking of being on one, Dan gets blocked by one of the world's worst people after taking him to task for some horrible behaviour. The rest of the episode is the opposite of horrible, as we talk about Lisa Gail, drinking coffee, John's lack of movie knowledge, Elon Musk hosting SNL, the baby named Korn, and Stefan brings back "Real or Fake" after he finds the weird Disney guy's Goodreads account. One thing we know is real is that we have fantastic bonus content over at patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to FOUR bonus episodes every single month. This week you'll get two prime cuts as we post the VOD from our live show this weekend where we watched sports bloopers with David Roth, and Jenny Toews makes her return to the show in a brand-new Hell Block. We've got newsletters, we've got the $100 Club where you can unlock everything for a year AND get a free t-shirt, it's all there and waiting for you to luxuriate in content. Dan O'Sullivan is a writer whose newsletter on crime, "Welcome to Sullyville", is available at www.sullyville.io. He can be followed on Twitter at @Bro_Pair.

Episode 126: Andrea Jin v. Ali Wong
Andrea Jin (comedian) returns to the show with a Block Tale that is quite rare: the one where you're so embarrassed by someone you admire potentially seeing a past DM you sent, that you block them so they don't. It's a first for the show and an endearing story that a lot of us can certainly relate to. Elsewhere in the episode, Stefan tells us all about his brand-new electric lighter, which leads into a discussion about whether or not he should shock himself with it (he should. --John) and why you'd buy an electric lighter in the first place. We also get into objects we wanted as kids to be more like adults, Game Boy, K-Pop, the hedge post, and Stefan relitigates a previous top 3. If you want a bunch of our previous content, you can head on over to patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to our ENTIRE bonus catalogue, which comprises almost 100 episodes. PLUS we're making new ones all the time. FOUR a month, to be exact. This includes one live show every month like this upcoming Saturday's (April 24), as we invite David Roth from Defector Media on the show to watch some Sports Bloopers with us. It's gonna be a grand time and it kicks off at 7 pm EDT/4 pm PDT. Come and remember some guys with us. Andrea Jin is a comedian whose debut album, "Grandma's Girl", is out now wherever you get your albums. She can be followed on Instagram at @andreajin and on Twitter at @andreajin_.

Episode 125: Wes Barker v. 200 People
Wes Barker (magician) joins the show to tell us what happens when magicians prank each other, and how it can lead to actual, real-world consequences of the utmost annoyance. The episode itself is also magic, as Wes makes for a great first-time guest as we dive into his recent move to Montreal, having to learn French, and what happens when one of your best friends (who is also a magician) lives next door. The Blocked Boys also get into blue checkmarks, getting suspended on the PlayStation Network, the CN Tower, mythical beasts, and Wes tells us about the time he tried to teach John how to do magic. If you want even more of the show's beautiful magic, head on over to patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to FOUR bonus episodes every month, including this week, where we debut a brand-new feature, an episode where we teach a non-Canadian podcaster about Canadian pop culture. We kick the new series off with our good friend Lydia Burrell learning about Canadian children's entertainer Fred Penner. It's a great time, and it'll be out Wednesday. Plus!! Our next live show has been announced, and on Saturday, April 24th, David Roth from Defector Media will join us to review some classic sports bloopers. It's gonna be great, don't miss any of it! Wes Barker is a magician whose new show, Big Trick Energy, debuts on TruTV on April 22nd. His magic can be found on his YouTube channel at YouTube.com/WesBarker, and you can follow him on Twitter and Instagram at @StuntMagician.

Episode 124: Tim Gray v. Peter Nygard
Tim Gray (comedian) joins the show for our first-ever cease-and-desist, as apparently telling jokes about someone on a local cable access show is grounds for getting lawyers involved. It's a particularly scummy man and so it feels like a great thing all around. And this episode is a great thing too, as we find time for John to display his impeccable Godsmack impression and Stefan to display his...less than impeccable impression. Amidst talk of butt rock, The Blocked Boys also crash into witchcraft, cover bands, YouTube algorithms, Reddit, sports Twitter, and emo. If you're feeling particularly emotional, you can head on over to patreon.com/blockedparty for some more sensitive content, as we give you four beautiful bonus episodes every month for the low price of $5. This week, we have another edition of the Blocked Party Mailbag coming at you, where Producer Dan makes a couple shocking reveals that you can't miss. Later this month, we will be debuting our brand-new bonus series, the "Canadian Education Programme for Foreign Podcasters", our attempt to educate our podcasting friends from across the globe about the Great White North. Episode 1 should be a blast as we bring on our pal Lydia Burrell and teach him about Fred Penner, a very famous and beloved children's musician. It's fun for everyone, so don't miss out! Tim Gray is a member of the HUNKS sketch troupe, whose debut album, "Mouth Beef", is available now on CD Baby. Tim can be followed on Twitter and Instagram at @timgrayrulez.

Episode 123: Lauren L. Walker v. Ricky Gervais
Lauren L. Walker (writer/podcaster) joins the show to demonstrate that the best way to get blocked by Ricky Gervais is to write one of his jokes for him. He's another in a long line of very famous name-searchers and we're surprised it took 123 episodes for him to land here, but it's all worth it. Elsewhere on the episode, Lauren drops a controversial food take as we talk Tums, gourmet dog food, bad breakfasts, bad doctors, bad museums, Bone Bone, and Hawked Party 2021 somehow becomes more of a reality. If you want your 2021 to have a bit more party in it, head on over to patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to FOUR bonus episodes every single month. This past week, we released an episode with our pal Jesse Farrar, and coming up this week, Stefan's good friend Greg joins us to talk about one of John's blocks. Plus, we have the famed $100 Club, a bunch of newsletters, and lots of other fun stuff over there, so check it out! Lauren L. Walker is a writer and podcaster whose baseball podcast, Batting Around, can be found wherever you get your podcasts. Her newsletter, The Paper Plate, is available on Substack at thepaperplate.substack.com. She can be followed on Twitter at @ActNormalOrElse.

Episode 122: Molly McAleer v. Robert Herjavec
Molly McAleer (podcaster) joins us to discuss a much juicier Block Tale than the one in the episode's title, one so juicy we've diverted attention from it because we don't want that particular website's followers after us. The Shark Tank block is very fun too, and the whole episode is just a nice time as we learn about Christian YouTube, Juggalo TikTok, and the Real Housewives. Elsewhere, we get into getting pitched by a beauty Instagram account, Lifetime Original Movies, Sylvanian Families, American Girl Dolls, and Stefan watches the Snyder Cut. If you don't want to miss the cut, head on over to patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to FOUR bonus episodes every month, including one this week with Jesse Farrar from YKS, as we take a listener donation episode to brand-new heights and get Jesse to talk Pacific Rim 2, among other things. We also have our charity stream coming up this Saturday, March 27th, as Stefan and John will compete in all manner of online competitions to see who is the better man. Join us at 7 pm EST/4 pm PST on our Twitch channel so you don't miss a second of the action! Molly McAleer is a podcaster who hosts two podcasts, Trend Lightly and Mother, May I Sleep With Podcast?, both of which can be found wherever you get your pods. She can be followed on Twitter at @molls.

Episode 121: Beth McColl v. An LOTR Fan
Beth McColl (writer) joins the show and breaks new ground for us as our first-ever guest outside of a North American time zone. This prompts a discussion about Daylight Savings Time and doing taxes in different countries, amidst a Block Tale where Beth makes the mistake of being a female fan of Lord of the Rings online. The episode isn't all taxes and timezones though, as the Blocked Boys find time to get into dad mishaps, changing our Twitter habits, Naomi Wolf, and the BBs introduce Beth to Pete Weber, Jr. And to cap it all off, Beth hits us with one of the best top 3 topics in show history. If you want more of the show's best history, you can head on over to patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to FOUR bonus episodes every single month, plus our entire back catalogue of bonus episodes immediately. It's a screamin' deal for our catalogue of nearly 100 bonus episodes, and just last week, John's fiancée Becca joined the show for a mailbag where we answer listener questions. Plus, the Blocked Party stimulus contest for WAVAW is still ongoing where you could win up to ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS, so get your entries in today! Beth McColl is a writer from London whose book, "How to Come Alive Again", is available wherever books are sold. She can be found on Twitter and Instagram at @imteddybless and her writing can be found on Patreon at patreon.com/teddybless.

Episode 120: Jane Stanton v. A Tinder Match
Jane Stanton (comedian, High School Sucked) joins us for what is truly the craziest and weirdest Block Tale we've ever had, and both John and Stefan lose their minds over a shocking reveal. The rest of the episode isn't quite as shocking but still has us on the edge as we talk about Stefan's Lord of the Rings weekend, Jane's high school parties, and John's follies living with his parents into his mid-20s. Plus, The Blocked Boys find some time to get into the Chris D'Elia "apology", Lola Bunny, shitting our pants, and we get a lost Cameo from our most recent Word Up! episode a few days late. Speaking of that Word Up! episode, it is now live at patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to ALL of our bonus episodes, including our great Sweeps Month content. This week, we move into March bonuses, as Becca makes her triumphant return to the podcast with an appearance on a mailbag, and we have lots more great stuff planned for this month you won't wanna miss. Plus, we have an awesome contest running right now where we are giving away ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS in support of WAVAW Rape Crisis Centre here in Vancouver. All the details are on our social media, so be sure to check it out there and donate to a worthy cause. Jane Stanton is a comedian and her podcast with Darcy Michael, High School Sucked, is available wherever you get your pods. Stay tuned for an upcoming episode with John! She can be followed on Instagram at @TheJaneStanton.

Episode 119: Lance St. Laurent v. Arthur Chu
Lance St. Laurent (Jeopardy! champ) joins the show to demonstrate that the fraternity of Jeopardy! champions is not guaranteed, as he tells the story of being blocked by past J! champion and noted internet shitheel Arthur Chu. John and Lance also get a chance to formally squash their brief Twitter feud after John tweeted about Lance's run on Jeopardy!, and get into some of the finer details surrounding appearing on the show in general. Elsewhere, the Blocked Boys make their BIG ANNOUNCEMENT and also get into film, fictional dads, parking lots, WandaVision, horny letters, and Stefan and John relitigate the "is the Grim Reaper a monster?" debate. One thing there's no debate about is the great bonus content over at patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to FOUR great bonus episodes every single month. This week, we will have the video from our live all-Cameo bonus episode with Nick Ciarelli and Bradford Evans, and we have a ton of great episodes from Sweeps Month right there for you as well, including our latest Trivia Party with our good pals, The Doughboys. You get access to our whole back catalogue with almost 100 bonus episodes with a donation today, so don't hesitate to catch up! Plus we have annual subscriptions, newsletters, and a bunch of other fun stuff for you to check out so head on over to Patreon and make a smart decision to start your month. Episode 118: Lance Storm v. Taz
It's the grand finale of BP Sweeps Month, and we couldn't have capped it off any better, as Lance Storm (former ECW, WCW, and WWF wrestler) joins the program to tell us why you'd have to block a fellow wrestler, and the consequences if you forget to unblock them. Elsewhere on the show, Lance gives us the skinny on how being a professional wrestler ends up ruining a lot of conventional entertainment, and we learn a lot about the process of reality television. Plus, we dive into the NHL's Lake Tahoe experience, the misadventures of the Newsmax network, crazy road stories, and we buy someone a wrestling lesson. If you want a very cheap lesson in bonus episode podcasting, you can head on over to https://patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to FOUR bonus episodes every month. Last week, the BBs were joined by Graham and Dave from Stop Podcasting Yourself, and this week, it's the long-awaited Trivia Party with The Doughboys! Episode 117: Karen Kilgariff v. A Wraith
BP Sweeps Month continues as Karen Kilgariff (My Favorite Murder) joins the show to talk about getting a very strange follow that led to an immediate block, a follow so bad we won't even mention the person's name in this space. The rest of the episode is not bad at all, but in fact, very good, as the Blocked Boys talk with Karen about our online ordering habits through COVID, crazy dreams, the CIA Valentine's Day wish, Miley Cyrus, appetizers, and John finally gets called out by a Jeopardy! champ. If you want to be sweet for more than just Valentine's Day, you can head on over to https://patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to FOUR bonus episodes every month. This month is Sweeps Month, where we have special DUO bonus episodes all month long. Episode 116: Brent Butt v. Awful Twitter Usernames
BP Sweeps Month continues as we welcome Canadian hero and comedy legend Brent Butt (Corner Gas) on the show for a look inside his block list. We ask the question, "what's in a name?", as it seems that you can almost immediately tell why Brent would've blocked these people based on their Twitter names alone. We look at a couple and it's...not good. Elsewhere on the episode, the Blocked Boys talk cruise ship comedians, Howie Mandel, pinball machines, Super Mario World, and Brent tries to convince Stefan to return to Canucks fandom after Stefan announced he was going to become a Seattle Kraken fan this week. One place you can always be a fan is over at https://patreon.com/blockedparty, where we only love and support our donors. We have many donation options available, including yearly subcriptions, a newsletter tier where you get 5 newsletters a month from us and some amazing guest freelancers, and our most popular tier, the $5/month tier, where we release FOUR bonus episodes every month, and you get them all. It's that easy. This month is a big one with it being BP Sweeps Month! Episode 115: Julie Klausner v. Pauley Perrette
BP Sweeps Month is here!!! And we kick it off in a big way, as Julie Klausner (actor, author, Double Threat) joins the show to tell us about her one red carpet interview experience: at the Golden Collar Awards, where she runs into Pauley Perrette, the actor from NCIS who might also be an insane person. We dig into that story as well as Pauley's tweets, which are predictably quite wild. Elsewhere, Julie bestows the Blocked Boys with their first-ever nicknames, as Stefan tells us about his new foray into cryptocurrency and John tries to sell off his Funko Pops. We also get into life in Manhattan, the Jon Kay dog shampoo thing, failed investments, and Julie reveals her plan for moving to Canada had Trump won re-election. If you want to feel closer to a couple Canadian guys, you can donate to the show at https://patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to FOUR bonus episodes every month and given it's BP Sweeps Month, we have some big things planned. Episode 114: Nick Nemeroff v. A BP Listener
Nick Nemeroff (comedian) makes his return to the show and in a moment of panic that he wouldn't have a great Block Tale, blocks a BP listener to have something to talk about on the show. It's much sweeter than it sounds, and Nick displays his general niceness throughout the show as we talk about Larry King's passing, cooking and eating meals, and John watches "The Girl Next Door" for the first time since 2004 and discovers it's a very perplexing movie. The Blocked Boys also find time to get into Mikey Miles, Amanda Palmer's viral tweet, and with Funko Pops in the rearview mirror, Stefan finds the new, 2021 way he's going to piss John off. TW: This episode's top 3 about the Denver Broncos contains some mentions of criminal activity, including sexual assault. Very few details of the cases are provided, but if you'd like to avoid that section, it occurs from 1:05:30 to 1:22:30. If you want to hear John get pissed off more, there's lots of that content and more over at https://patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to FOUR bonus episodes every month. Episode 113: Darcy Michael v. TikTok
If you're into John getting bullied, this is the episode for you, as returning guest Darcy Michael (comedian, High School Sucked) and Stefan team up to bust John's chops for not owning a cat, never making it in hockey, and an old classic: forcing him to watch a Joey's World Tour video. We also learn about getting bullied on TikTok, as Darcy gets his account shut down by the homophobic Chinese company for a very innocuous video. Elsewhere, the Blocked Boys go in on Darcy's first appearance on the show 103 episodes ago, pets, saunas, housework, and corporate comedy roasts. If you want to avoid getting roasted by your friends, do the thing all the cool kids are doing and donate to the show at https://patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to FOUR bonus episodes including TWO this week, as we do a Freaky Friday mailbag where John and Stefan switch bodies to answer questions and we post the on-demand video of our Dragon's Den live show this past Friday. PLUS!! We have Blocked Party Sweeps Month coming up in February, where we have some amazing bonus content planned you won't wanna miss! Episode 112: Josh Gondelman v. Not Cap'n America
Josh Gondelman (writer, comedian) joins the podcast to tell us the story of a very confusing block that only gets more confusing as we learn that all 3 of the Blocked Boys are also blocked by the very same account. But that hardly matters on this very busy week in Twitter history, as Josh gives us all the details behind #Beangate, Stefan tries all of his new mustards, and we go in on all of the business surrounding the storming of the Capitol and the President's banning from Twitter. And the moment you've been waiting 112 episodes for happens, as we finally get into some Bar Rescue talk. If you don't wanna wait that long for more episodes, head on over to https://patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes and ONE live episode every month. This week, we've got a great bonus episode coming up, as we were made to watch a terrible Lifetime movie about porn addiction this week and we brought past guest and fave Libby Watson along for the ride. We have yearly memberships available now including the exclusive $100 Club, where you can get all of our bonus content plus a free shirt. Check it all out! Episode 111: Allie Pearse v. A Filmmaker Ex
It's a new year but it's the same us, as Allie Pearse (comedian, writer) joins us for a classic Block Tale, where after she breaks up with an ex, he blocks her on everything and then makes a short film where the main character strongly resembles her and it launches his career as a filmmaker and is seen by millions. A tale as old as time. The Blocked Boys have plenty of time for other tales too, as we get into the Instagram Explore tab, childhood snacks, getting duped by a fake post, and an attempt to discuss Bean Dad turns into a much lengthier conversation about can openers. Above all that, Allie turns in a Top 3 that makes Stefan noticeably uncomfortable for the first time in the show's history, a truly special moment. If you'd like some more special moments, head on over to https://patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to FOUR bonus episodes every month. And this week, we're introducing Yearly Subscriptions, so you can get 12 months for the price of 10 and join the exclusive $100 Club, where you'll get all of our bonus content PLUS a free shirt. All the details are live now on our Patreon, so check it out. Episode 110: The 2021 Blocked Party Enemies List
In the second edition of this yearly tradition, John and Stefan eschew a guest in favour of a list of enemies to set the table for the turn of the calendar. 2020 was a year full of ups and (mostly) downs, and we try to predict who will continue into 2021 with our cups full of hatred for them. Before that, the Blocked Boys talk about their Christmases, Inglehoffer Mustard, charcuterie boards, and they give you a peek behind the curtain at how they prepare guests for the show. Plus, we review our 2020 Enemies List to see how the year played out for us vs. them, a sort of "year in retrospective", Blocked Party-style. And of course, we get into the 10 Official Enemies of the Blocked Party podcast for 2021. There's some choices that will make sense but also some that will surprise as we prepare for another year of the show. If you like surprises, we have even more in store for you over at https://patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5 a month gets you access to FOUR bonus episodes every single month. This month was a doozy with a holiday mailbag featuring Santa, the return of Olivia Stadler for an all-Cameo bonus episode, and more! Plus, starting in January, we're going to be introducing yearly subscriptions, a fun way to save some money and support the BBs all year round. Stay tuned for more info on that very soon! And finally, a sincere thank you to everyone who stuck with the podcast through a very weird and trying 2020. We know it's been a tough one but the show continued to grow and we felt your love and support all year. We love you all very much and in a lot of ways, it felt like we got through all of this together and it means just so much to us. Thanks for being with us and get excited for more great content in 2021!
