We break down the reasons, and the scenarios that could unfold over the next few months. If the Ravens resort to the franchise tag, should Jackson hold out through OTAs and training camp? We also dive into the discussion about offensive coordinator Greg Roman being linked to the head coaching job at Stanford. Wilcox thinks that could be the best thing for Roman and for Lamar Jackson. Meanwhile, the Ravens are entering historic territory with their running game, with eight straight games of at least 150 rushing yards. What's been the key to that success, because it sure hasn't been any one back; they have cycled through five. We've got some ideas. Wilcox also talks about defending Baker Mayfield, and guarding against a letdown as a double-digit favorite. Wilcox admits he "sucks at this" making predictions stuff, but he does it anyway as we give our final score predictions.

We look at the Ravens trade-deadline deal for linebacker Roquan Smith and what he adds to this Ravens defense, and we preview the Ravens Monday Night Football game at New Orleans. How will the Ravens adjust after learning that WR1 Rashod Bateman is done for the year? And how will the Ravens plan to defend dangerous Alvin Kamara and Taysom Hill? Tom Brady and the Buccaneers have not looked like Super Bowl contenders lately, with four losses in five games. But Wilcox says the Ravens can ill afford to take "The GOAT" lightly at this stage of his career. Thursday night road games have not been kind to the Ravens, and Lamar Jackson will probably dictate whether that changes this time. The Ravens quickly saw what they've been missing with the absence of running back Gus Edwards, who ran for 66 hard-earned yards and two touchdowns in his first game in more than a year. Edwards' return from a shredded ACL comes just in time, with J.K. Dobbins out for at least the next month. We look at how the Ravens pass rush is trending in the right direction, and Wilcox takes you inside the art of punt returns, and what makes Devin Duvernay so good at it. As usual, it will probably come down to Lamar Jackson, whose signature play among all the others was his sensational, spin-move 47-yard touchdown run against the Bengals in 2019. With the Ravens coming off another blown big league in a last-second loss to Buffalo, this AFC North opener feels like a critical test.

What's next for him? For the team? Wilcox has been in locker rooms with similar conflicts, and he tries to show a way forward. But man, he still hates that fourth-down call when you have a quarterback like Lamar Jackson ...

Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen, the two most accomplished quarterbacks in the 2018 draft class, square off, and Wilcox says Jackson will always have a chip on his shoulder after being the fifth QB taken in that draft. The Ravens passing defense ranks No. 32 in the league through three games, and the Bills passing offense ranks No. 1. How do the Ravens try to go about slowing down Stefon Diggs and that offense? Wilcox has some ideas. The Ravens also have to deal with a tenacious Bills pass rush led by Von Miller and Greg Rousseau, and might have to do it with rookie Daniel Faalele at left tackle.
