Episode 141: It's totally ok if you cry, throw things or lose your will to eat for the next few days cause the last episode of Black Hipster is here. This has been a ride filled with fun, excitement, frustration, anger and many other emotions. We have thoroughly enjoyed opening ourselves up nearly every week but we are also excited to move on. Episode 140: Let's talk TV ya'll. We discuss some shows on our radar such a the female lead newbie Harlem and the return of one of our old faves Sex and the City. Both are entertaining in their ways and bring up social issues around race, gender and sex. Episode 139: We all have those friends that we get along just fine with but sometimes spending an extended amount of time with them can feel a little like a chore. The verdict for Kyle Rittenhouse was announced and are we surprised that "justice" continues to only work for some and not for all? Episode 138: The recent NY election had us voting for horrible vs catastrophic. Of course we picked the candidate who we felt would do us the LEAST harm. When are we going to get a candidate who is really for the people and isn't a crazy cat lady? Episode 127: Everyone loves fried chicken and everyone loves watermelon. But let's not get cute, when it's on the menu for a Juneteenth celebration thrown by a large (and Swedish) company, these hipsters can understand how someone could take offense. Plus, is it commendable for a bride to send her bridesmaids a contract spelling out their duties and expectations with an "opt-out" clause or is it just a new bag of crazy in what has become of the wedding industry? Episode 124: Americans have an interesting relationship to alcohol. The rates at which we drink and how much are at an all time high and alcohol related deaths are up. Yet, advertisements for the "devil's water" are everywhere and you can purchase it at grocery stores, zoos or anywhere else you go! We chat about how alcohol is tied to evolution and how it has and continues to play an integral role in many of our lives today. Episode 123: Yes, it is too early for us to say the pandemic is nearing an end but it can't stop us from thinking about what we miss and new things we are looking forward to. Designer babies are definitely not a new thing and before the science there were countless old wive's tales about how to predict and 'sway" the gender of your baby.
