#30DaySocialMediaChallenge will change your Social Media results! Today’s episode 0034 is all about the #30DaySocialMediaChallenge which I started with all my social media students looking to learn social media, leverage it for their personal brand, build their business brand and use social media as their real-time resume for 2019 and beyond. The 30 day Social Media Challenge is simple, get you posting content everyday to one social media network. I recommend Instagram since it’s easiest for most people to generate daily content of sorts on that platform. Step 1: Get over yourself and your EGO Recommended book: Judgement Detox by Gabby Bernstein Step 2: Commit to post everyday – don’t be scared I will help you with ideas each day to make this process easier. Step 3: Commit to testing, try and then learning from that. DO NOT try to be perfect with your posts, do not PR yourself. Real people want to see real people to see if they connect with your way of thinking, your products, services, etc. Step 4: The first 10 days are focused on learning how to use the platform and posting simple posts each day. – First posts include, your first image post, first text only post, your first selfie post, your first nature shot, your first business photo, you at work, you at the gym, the weather, yourself at other local businesses, you at local landmarks, you at local events, you at local parks, the positive of your day or a challenge you’ve overcome. – Each day at dinner in my house we do “Rose & Thorn” something I learn from President Barack Obama’s family – each person at the table talks about their biggest challenge or hardship (their Thorn) and their biggest happy moment (their Rose). Take this an do it daily with two posts and youve got enough content for the first 10 days. I will develop more details in the following videos that will detail the last 20 days were you become much more proactive once you realize posting on social media can be much easier if you let it be. Because at the end of the day they’re either a water down copy of Bitcoin, some cryptocurrencies like Ripple have the opportunity to increase because they are working with the traditional banking system to integrate themselves which makes for an easy sales pitch by stock Brokers to simple investors as a gateway to “ blockchain” riches for all. when in reality the only cryptocurrency and the only technology that uses blockchain and adds value is Bitcoin all others are not worth investing and should be seen as gambling and speculation. I think Bitcoin will provide a technology layer that will be the next evolution of how we transact and how we can add complex artificial intelligence and programming to multiple actions that will include Financial transactions. Right now we are seeing financial institutions using Bitcoin as a clearing solution and I can see the day that banks creating their own internal clearing systems using a “blockchain” technology that relies on the bank’s servers and employees to run it so in no way being like Bitcoin which is immutable – anything done in any other format has the possibility and potential for some sort of hacking. In today’s episode I discuss the secret to social media success is simple having a plan. creating your social media strategy is not as complex as many people think it is and without it you’re guaranteed to spend time chasing your tail on social media rather than making the kind of progress you expected. Let’s start off by getting the definition for the term strategy. A plan of action or policy designed to achieve a major or overall aim. For many of you that idea seems too far reaching since how social media works and all the possible moving parts are not fully comprehended by any of us. that’s why lately I’ve been pitching the idea of just posting every day start by posting a single photo or picture everyday then add elements of hashtags and see your results. once you’ve done that you’ll have the courage to move forward and start creating video posts every single day or maybe adding video via stories to your already daily social media posts. Start with a simple social media strategy. Pick a platform you feel comfortable with. Get an account. Start posting everyday. (level 2 post photos of yourself daily as well) Start posting video daily. (level 2 post video of yourself daily as well) Build out groups of hashtags to use. List out your competitors locally, in country and globally on your platform (follow them all). Watch different social media post, see what is getting people to respond, engage (which means comment) and like count. Use these ideas to generate new type of content. Analytics: Now it’s time to learn how to monitor your results so far. This is a very good starting point for anyone but the secret is doing it daily or 3 time weekly whatever you decide. That being said I still have to say the number one way to get the most attention and build your brand and real estate within the niche of fastest is to post video of yourself as much as possible and close second to that is just posting on social and general as much as possible. Create your social media strategy today commit to it and take action against that goal everyday. check back on your progress and the results of your actions on a weekly basis and then on a monthly basis add new elements to your social media strategy. now I don’t think anybody needs to pay someone to do this for them there’s a lot of great content out there on how to build your social media strategy if you’re looking to build something more complex for a medium or large or Corporation. in most cases I found that getting comfortable and using the platform as the best way to create a more holistic social media strategy that you actually achieve rather than something you just turn on and goes from 0 to 100. Today’s episode #028 of the Digital 100 Show is about that magically question I get asked all the time. What should I be posting today on social media? This not so difficult question is just another excuse people use to complicate social media & the results its may bring. In reality you should be posting to social media multiple times per day – this will help you take the attention of the users. Then if the content you produced is of value the users will subscribe, stay watch and engage with it – this is your sign of success. But it all revolves around producing good content. Similar to learning to swim, I can’t say the only way to swim is to have a perfect body, perfect swimsuit and dive perfectly into the water otherwise you are a horrible failure. The reality is your need to get into the water to learn, you need to take chances and produce all types of content to find what you like, what your audience likes or doesn’t. That’s where the real gold is found, not in sitting pool side saying I’ll wait for the perfect moment to learn to swim ( as outlined above ) before leaping in. I say – jump in the water is warm and forgiving. People care a lot less than you think, especially to the negative – trust me I’ve emailed everyone my wife & I know when I downloaded the LinkedIn app for the first time in years. Now everywhere I go I get my wife’s friends and co-workers asking me why I reached out on LinkedIn to connect with them 🙂 That’s life! Don’t avoid it – step into the shallow-end or dive into the deep-end. Either way it’s about producing quality content everyday! But without the quality I would still produce something over nothing and that’s the key take away from this questions. The more your post the more quickly you will find your style, understand your niche, catered towards your audience, know your competitors and then make the changes towards your success. Here is episode 025 of the Digital 100 Show where I make the realization of why you need to be creating as much video content as possible right now. I’ve always know of the amazing opportunity of video for many years, no surprise – right? Now I was working my first web business in the early 90’s so I knew the value of the internet but I didn’t realize how much opportunity I had at that moment til many years later. As hindsight is always 20/20 – but now I see what Gary Vaynerchuk has been shouting for years. This is the land rush of today, video! Nothing else comes close. That means you need to be produce as much video content on as many social platforms as possible to enjoy the grow this medium will provide you. From 1996 to 2003 you could make a web page, post any meta tag keywords and rank in the #1 spot in a few hours. I was making pages as fast I could but didn’t have enough knowledge of scale, leverage or programming 🙁 But now I see this exact moment happening again in digital marketing and it’s video which is stealing attention of users. Most sites are desperate for any video content, quality content is gain users by the hundreds per day. It’s time to dive in & make video content daily – it will pay-off more for your business, brand or network then any other form of digital marketing today. Get that thru your head, please! Now change your focus and how your structure your digital marketing or marketing efforts in general.
