October 16, 2012 – Woolybooger…As My Mama Would Say
We get an update on an eyeball that was found on the beach. Somebody paid $10,000 for some BBQ sauce. Steve muses about a situation with some bears at a hotel….this is the beginning of a long line of stories that reveal what may actually be going on with the animal kingdom. Colored honey in France, and a kid decides to have his picture taken with every animal…I wonder how that will be going in 2020? A sasquatch detour, what we learned, and all of the commercials included for authenticity. Thanks for downloading the Big Honkin Show!

October 15, 2012 – He Finally Jumped
Due to the technology restrictions at the time, only about 45 minutes of this show got recorded. That’s all thanks to Jimmy In Georgia. We talk about Felix Baumgartner finally making his big jump. What number is most closely associated with a little girl’s birth? (The right number to make a bad joke) Steve reacts to a list of Halloween candy. Which leads him to opine about the various candies mentioned. The commercials and other interstitials are left in so that you can get a feel of exactly what this era of the show was all about. Here is the video of the jump we waited so long to see!

October 12, 2012 – Big Honkin Dance Party
Not really the first time this was done, but it was the first time it was done on the radio version of the show. Steve throws an early morning dance party…but he also talks a LOT. Included in his ramblings are a spontaneous parade opportunity, suspicious toilet paper purchasing, his confession of his caffine addiction, cooking squirrels, hunting, and the seeds of the animapocalypse are planted with some speculation about an eyeball on the beach. Steve is reminded of national sarcasm awareness week. The return of the Real Life Super Hero to the Big Honkin Show happens with a Papa John delivery guy. (which also plants the seeds for the awareness of all the crazy in Florida)

October 11, 2012 – You Don’t Have Any Friends
Due to the way these shows were recorded several episodes from this age of the Big Honkin Show are missing a chunk of the episode and it is lost to time. We are so very thankful for our remote producer and content provider Jimmy In Georgia for recording what he could given the limitations he had because of the internet at the radio station where the show was broadcast from. This show is missing a little over half an hour at the beginning but that doesn’t stop Steve from running his mouth overmuch. After a birthday shout out Steve puts the call out to start a band, discusses encores, talks about a 77 year old man who stole an ambulance. There’s TV talk with Steve’s thoughts on a couple of unscripted shows of the day. An eagle takes on a crocodile, and mice are singing or something. A dude gets hit with a crystal ball…didn’t see that coming. Steve gives his first real “What we’ve learned” in the form that it would take for several years to come. Commercials, obituaries, and local announcements and interstitials have been left in to keep the flavor of what people heard live every morning as they tuned in.

October 10, 2012 – Fraudgartner?
Heartbreaking news surrounding the Felix Baumgartner jump. The Mystery Monkey of Tampa Bay is back and Steve hasn’t seen a pattern in the animal kingdom yet so he actually DEFENDS the monkey. A man fights a stop sign, and other silliness on this edition of the Big Honkin Show. Commercials and other announcements/local-specific radio happenings have been left in so you can get a feel of what this age of the show was really like in 2012.

October 9, 2012 – It’s Jump Day (Maybe)
Baumgartner watch is coming to a conclusion as today is the day he’s supposed to take the big leap. Steve goes into more detail about his plan to make train parades a thing in Hazlehurst, GA. More alligators found in Long Island? Is Godzilla coming? Parade talk leads to Steve talking parade candy and parade follies. All this served up with the usual morning stupor on The Big Honkin Show!

October 8 – No Jump Today (or…Pumpkin Spice…the early days)
Looking into the future…a story about pumpkin lattes becomes the seed that will grow into the hatred for all things pumpkin spice as the years roll on. Baumgartner watch continues as the jump is postponed for safety reasons. Yes…a man jumping from a helium balloon in the outer atmosphere concerned about safety. New way to get free food are explored, a jury duty story is told, and a great idea for the town is offered at the end. This show is being presented with most of the commercials left in tact so newer listeners can get a further feel of what the flow of the mornings was like during this age of the show. Also, no fading on songs has been done…they just cut off. That’s an editor’s choice. The editor is Steve

October 5, 2012 – It’s Got Red Boo All Over It
They’re finding alligators in the sewers, Steve is still obsessing over Felix Baumgartner, the ole Birthday club is in effect. Thanks to Jimmy In GA for helping get this audio. Like other episodes in this era, this one doesn’t have the best sound quality but we do make it all the way to the end of the show!
