Episode 39: Road Trip - Biere de Femme Beer Festival
In this episode Ryan makes his not so triumphant return (he was doing the recording and he is also why this is a day late) as the guys head to Asheville and Highland Brewing for the third annual Biere de Femme Festival.    Bierre de Femme benefits the Pink Boots Society and features beers brewed and spearheaded by women.   In this episode you will hear from Carol Waggeer from Bold Missy Brewery, Melissa Bruno from Mother Earth Brewing, our podcasting brethern Cheers Charlotte, and Richard Cox of Well Crafted. What you will not hear is the awesome intro the guys did that passionately made the case for more inclusion in craft beer and referenced King Arthur and Justice League.  You may also get a little bit of baby Declan. Besides our guests Between the Pints would like to thank the program director of one of the best public radio stations in the country, Joe Kendrick of WNCW, for the assist with the equipment.   Until next week, Slainte.   --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/between-the-pints/support

Short Pours: Folklore Brewing and Meadery
Aaron was in Alabama last week, and had the privilege of talking to Jeremy Pate of Folklore Brewery and Meadery in Dothan, Alabama. They talk family, small town life, old school homebrewing, and connecting the beers of today with the stories of yesteryear. Thanks for listening, and stay tuned for a SUPERSHOW coming soon as Ryan and Aaron record at the Biere de Femme festival in Asheville on March 2nd. Between the Pints would like to thank Jeremy Pate for taking the time to hang out and chat, as well as the whole team at Folklore for making Dothan a place where craft beer is alive and spreading the good word of great beer! #craftbeer #folklorebrewing #betweenthepints #dothanalabama #visitdothan #btp  --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/between-the-pints/support

Episode 37 - No Ryan, New Baby, Pink Boots and Biere de Femme
Ryan catches a bunch of strays as he welcomes a new craft beer drinker (in 21 years) to the world.   Aaron welcomes Mother Earth Brewing reprsentative, Melissa Bruno to the podcast to talk about the Pink Boots Society and Biere de Femme.   Pink Boots is a group of women in craft beer that seeks to promote diversity within the industry (brewing, sales, marketing, etc.) and Biere de Femme is the beer festival they have created that isn't like any beer festival in country.  Biere de Femme is a rare beer festival with beers created and brewed by women and uses all the proceeds to pay for scholarships for women to gain access to different jobs within the industry.  Ryan will be back soon (the next espisode).  He will talk about he and his wife's new small roommate (he eats a lot, but doesn't pay for anything).  Now that the two babies are here, the podcast will return to its normal goofiness and hopefully a little more. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/between-the-pints/support

Short Pours - Colorado Springs
Aaron was somehow allowed to not only board a plane, but to even leave the state! Over the holiday season, he decided that the best gift that he could possibly give was to record from a few local Colorado breweries and to make some recommendations to you, our loyal (and likely drunk) listeners. Cheers! A special thanks goes out to Bristol Brewing Company, Iron Bird Brewing, Colorado Mountain Brewing, BierWerks Brewery, and Ursula Brewery for being such good hosts. #craftbeer #BetweenthePints #Podcast #ShortPours #UrsulaBrewery #BristolBrewingCo #IronBirdBrewing #ColoradoMountainBrewery #BierWerksBrewery --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/between-the-pints/support

Welcome back to the guys as they make a dramatic return to recording giving you, the listener, the opportunity to listen to them wax poetically about the failings of British cuisine, a trade war between Canadian provinces, and distributors being fined for doing the bidding of their macro beer corporate masters. Also, the badly try to hint at some of the things they have for next year's podcasts. Recommendations include Final Table, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, The Marvelous Ms. Maisel, and even a little beer. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/between-the-pints/support

Short Pour: GABF Edition #3
Ryan sends in his last solo missive about the GABF. He is a crappy traveler, needing two days to recover from traveling and drinking so he apologizes for the episode being a little late. In this episode, he gives his overall impressions of the festival and the awards. Ryan would like to thank Dave, Ginny, and Maddie the Greyhound for their hospitality and more important their friendship as they housed him for 4 days. He would also like to thank his beloved for letting him go and have fun without her. Hopefully, they will find a way to go together next year. Thanks to the band Lobo Locos for the use of the song Running Eiskrokodil as the opening and closing music. Look out for new beercounselor.net posts. The first should be a rundown of Ryan's favorite beers he tasted at the festival. Also, look for a new Between The Pints full episode dropping on Thursday. Episode 29: Brew News
Aaron and Ryan manage to talk and entertain themselves for an hour even though there was no real news to discuss. The beer world is gearing up for the Great American Beer Festival. So, they either don’t have any news or they hold any bad news for Saturday when the awards are announced. The guys did manage to find a few articles to riff on for the show. Keep your ears peeled for quick hit podcasts from Ryan as he attends this year’s GABF. He’ll try to do summaries of what he has drank and where has been for each day to get you a feel of what is happening at craft beer’s biggest party. The guys thank Hygge Co-Working for the podcast space and Benjamin Banger for the use of Bobby Drake as the opening and closing track. You can find more from Ryan at beercounselor.net and medium.com and Aaron at liquidassets.blog. Until next time, Slainte!   --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/between-the-pints/support

Episode 28: Brew News
Aaron and Ryan get through their quickest show in their run.  Yet somehow still digress wildly and forget names of famous people all in less than 20 minutes. First, they hit the IRI retail data for the beer industry.  Good news, craft beer is doing well.  The Brewdog Network is here proving that the Brewdog crew knows how to make money and stick their feet firmly in their mouths all at the same time.  The more things change, the more things stay the same. The guys thank Hygge Co-Working for the podcast space and Yung Kartz for the use of Diamond Clean as the opening and closing track. You can find more from Ryan at beercounselor.net and medium.com and Aaron at liquidassets.blog. Stay tuned for a new episode next week and Ryan will be reporting in from Denver and GABF throughout next weekend.  Until next time, Slainte! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/between-the-pints/support

Episode 27: Rating Sites Part Deux
Because Aaron and Ryan get tired of listening to themselves talk (at least Ryan does) they invited Neil Gimon of Dreamchasers and Townes Mozer of Lenny Boy to talk more about beer rating sites. The guys get into rating sites like Untappd, Beer Advocate, and even Yelp. What do they really think of them and how do they use them to improve their products and their taprooms. As always, Between The Pints digresses into unscripted territories. This week it is the merits of Pacific Rim and John Wick as cinematic masterpieces. The guys thank Hygge Co-Working for the podcast space and teeho x VYVCH for the use of Soma as the opening and closing track. You can find more from Ryan at beercounselor.net and medium.com and Aaron at liquidassets.blog.  Until next week, Slainte! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/between-the-pints/support

Episode 25: Uncapped - Part 1 of Rating Sites - Safe Novelty
Aaron and Ryan were gone for a couple of weeks because Aaron and his wife welcomed a new tiny roommate and Ryan moved into a new house. They make their return with the first of a two-part series on online beer rating systems and what they mean for the craft beer industry. In the episode, besides the many tangents the Between the Pints has quickly become known for, they do manage to talk about Untappd, Beer Advocate and Rate Beer and how those sites are a part of a larger crowdsource movement that has changed not only craft beer reviews, but the way many of the things we enjoy for entertainment are critiqued. Basically, the guys try to figure out if these sites are Tools of Knowledge or Tools of Ignorance. Also, Aaron declares that furries are OK and Ryan takes shots at right answers. As always, the guys want to thank Hygge Coworking for the use of the podcast space. This week’s music is “Guitar Strut” by Lorenzo’s Music and can be found on Free Music Archive. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/between-the-pints/support

Episode 24: Session Beers with Rachael Hudson
In the latest episode of Between The Pints, Aaron and Ryan welcome Rachael Hudson from Pilot Brewing for an interview. The guys talk to Rachael about the new concept she and her husband Jeff are bringing to the craft beer world with Pilot Brewing. The name has a double meaning as Jeff is an airline pilot and more importantly all the beers brewed at Pilot will be in small batches and brewed by everyone on staff. Take a listen to learn more about Pilot Brewing and Rachael's journey to becoming a brewery owner. The guys would also like to thank Hygge Co-Working for the use of the podcast space, and Black Ant and Free Music Archive for the opening and closing music this week. Finally, you can find Aaron behind the bar at Kit’s Trackside in Pineville and at liquidassets.blog and you can find Ryan slinging beer at Craft Tasting Room and Growler Shop, beercounselor.net, and at Craft Beer Consulting, LLC.
