Episode 49: Jay Learns About Himbos
We open the episode celebrating our successes with new catch-phases, marriages, and Jay fresh off the high of a production of Sweeney Todd, which had been postponed since before the Covid shutdown. Jay recaps his return to the theat-ahhhhh, including a production glitch that everyone handled *just right*. Becca has another lovely installment of "Don´t Hug Me, I'm Scared" for the boys to react to, and Tice reacts to the Pratt-ification of the upcoming Mario and Garfield movies, with Jay pontificating on which trendy phrases are douchey. We close out with another game of True Confessions about Jay and a brush with fame.

Episode 48: Woke, Yoked, and Soaked
A wonderful episode to play for your family around the Thanksgiving table. We begin with Jay and Becca congratulating Tice on his recent wedding and chatting about the weddings of other friends in the Between 2 Butts social circle. Then Jay is up with his latest "Coolest Things on the Interwebz" series; this time, a Jersey Bro shows us his Most Alpha Back Exercises. Becca shows us Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 2, and we end up on a tangent about youth fads like "soaking" and "jump-humping", which again, is entirely chaste, so invite Grandma to hear. Before we go even further off the rails, Tice shares thoughts about the continued popularity and reincarnations of the Addams Family, and we wrap with an improv game as Becca warms up to perform with us in her first live improv show.

Episode 47: Ushanka, Can I Call You? Guest: AnuRa Harrison
In this episode, actor AnuRa Harrison joins Becca, Jay and Tice to tell us how to make the most of small roles in the theatre. AnuRa has demonstrated that fact in numerous productions, including "Julius Caesar", "Barnum", "Cabaret", "Sherlock!" and others. As we go, AnuRa discusses the story of her name, remembers the creation of "Ushanka", talks about singing in a musical when you don't really have the best voice, reveals which production helped her get her sexy back, and during which production she conceived a child (although, as Jay points out, it didn't happen on stage). Stay to the end and you'll hear us play Who Would Win in a Fight?

Episode 46: CAUTION, Spoilers for "Titanic"!! (Guest: Matt McDermott)
We open in crisis mode, as the Between 2 Butts crew's beloved satellite member Echo may have asthma. Still, Becca switches on her tiny kitty-sized humidified and carries on as we catch up with Tice and Jay's old improv buddy Matt McDermott. Matt takes us all the way back to "Klinkenschnell, the Christmas Bell", his acting debut at age 12. Then it's on to his transition into the tech world and some mechanical misfires in a Titanic play. We then reminisce about his time in ComedySportz Improv, and his present-day activities of swing dancing, professional photography, teaching improv, and keeping a menagerie of animals in his home! Finally, we try to Make a Match together as Tice pulls out his best Charles Nelson Reilly impression in aid of an extremely time-sensitive joke.

Episode 45: Not For Everybody
This episode sees us actually go down a YouTube rabbit hole, starting with Becca presenting part 1 of "Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared", a part-puppetry, part-animated short film with some Yo Gabba Gabba vibes, that, as Jay says, "gets a little metal". Then Jay recalls "Hanker for a Hunk of Cheese", a cartoon PSA/ad from the 70s about making snacks. After viewing and reading the comments, Tice goes off on boomer memes about drinking from the garden hose. Finally, Jay sees a video in the suggestion bar that he can't leave alone, simply called "I've Got a Bad Case of Diarrhea" (generally the opposite effect of a hunk of cheese). Next, Jay talks about being "not for everybody" and the reasons why you shouldn't try to be, and then we play an improv favorite, "Yay! Boo!"

Episode 44: What is a Douffe?
In a somewhat overdue episode, Tice, Becca and Jay look back on old neck-names, or nick-names. Then, Jay shares his #6th Coolest Thing on the Interwebs, a tweed-clad troubadour's "No More Fucks To Give" song, Tice shares his takes on the Jeopardy's embattled host search, and Becca reviews her experience at Awesome Con. Finally, we once again set off the lawyers at Goodson-Todman with "Let's Make a Match", Awesome Con edition! Episode 43: No Babies Were Given Meth in the Making of this Podcast (Guest: Christine Maxted)
Jay, Becca, and Tice sit down with singer, actor, director, and teacher Christine Maxted to talk about her time in "Annie", "HONK!", "Aida" and "9 to 5" (with clips!!), along with how to not ruin your voice, and the various 'tudes of the theatre world. Also, how vocal folds look like vaginas. We then get into a game of "One-Word Song" and raise the spectre of Nanner-Puss, and to find out what that is, you better listen to the whole episode.

Episode 42: The Best Dress-Up Box; Guest- Larissa Norris
Our episode opens with Jay owning up to a case of the bubble-guts from his turkey sausage. Then, Jay ponders wedded bliss and one of the Butt-partners crashes the pod and gets us on Muppet sex before we can get back on track. We do, however, compose ourselves, so we can chat with wardrobe wizard and occasional actor Larissa Norris. She´ll be telling us about her experiences with both theatre costumes and cosplay, including her first paid performance at age two, 90s period pieces, edible blood and most importantly her group cosplay with Becca and Melissa (Jay´s wife and creative consultant) as the Sanderson Sisters! And what foul play is afoot? The Butt Crew has a surprise guest waiting for Larissa, and it almost works, too! Finally, it´s Feud time once more and Tice turns the tables on Jay and makes him answer the questions. Will Jay be able to get his mind off butts long enough to help Larissa score the big prize?

Episode 41: Hold On to your Knitting!
A roller-coaster episode for sure! First, Jay shares the story of "Remember the Titans" star Ethan Suplee, and talks weight loss and body dysmorphia as a continuation of his Jay-brain series. Then, Tice directs Becca and Jay through a dramatic reading of a recent storyline of Mary Worth, the long-running newspaper drama-strip about a shade-throwing old biddy fixing everybody's problems. This plot brings back memories for Jay, as it features a handsome dude who just can't stop trying to rescue dysfunctional young women, and everyone takes note of a trope in Mary Worth in which every time someone below middle-class is shown, they are surrounded by squalor, filth, decay and splintered relationships. The story escalates into a coffee-tossing slap-fight, and Tice gets so into the role of fowl-mouthed Shawna that he drops a bomb that makes Becca drop her knitting! If you want to catch up on the best of Mary Worth, or see the comics we are reading, go to The Comics Curmudgeon, where Josh reads the comics so you don't have to. His commentary on this Mary Worth plotline can be found here. And the full clip of Ethan Suplee discussing body dysmorphia and his weight loss journey on The Joe Rogan Experience can be found here.

Episode 40: Jay Brain
Lordy, Lordy...we've reached 40. Appropriately enough for that milestone, we're talking IBS and colonoscopies (although you faithful listeners know that's been our brand since Episode 1). Then, Jay introduces us to the biggest asshole in his life, his own brain, as he leads us in a conversation about self-sabotage and imposter syndrome. Along the way we talk about weight loss and other body changes and how they affect an actor, and we find out that Becca and Tice suffer from Becca Brain and Tice Brain, too. Tice shares that his favorite '90s sketch show "Kids in the Hall" is having a revival, and shows two of the classic sketches, "Is He? (Secretaries)" and "Dipping Areas". Finally, Becca talks about kitties in the MCU and Jay tests her knowledge with a lightning round of MCU trivia!

Episode 39: Turn Into a Puppet (Guest- Sarah Marsden)
Everybody is back from vacay! (Or at least were at the time of this recording...) After we recap our holiday exploits (including Becca's encounter with a genteel palmetto bug), Jay hands Tice the interviewer's cap as we meet remotely with long-term improv collaborator, Sarah Marsden! Join Sarah as she thinks back on making her childhood friends laugh without understanding why. Listen as Sarah remembers meetings Jay and Tice at ComedySportz, DC, and does her impersonations of Kristen Wiig and the Between 2 Butts crew!! Stick around to hear Sarah describe her experiences singing naughty songs with The O'Danny Girls at the Maryland Renaissance Festival, and her latest performances at Beer Quest, in her current home of Denver, CO! (She even treats us to a song!) Make sure to listen to this episode; it's one of our silliest yet! Beer Quest, running through Aug 1, 2021

Episode 38: I'm Going to Be Doing Some Yucking Today
We've got a really sick episode for you this time! Literally, in Tice's case, since at the time of recording he was recovering from a stomach bug and has a raspy/sexy voice from a day of dry heaves. Meanwhile, Becca was also "playing hurt" because we recorded on a weeknight, she was worn out from work, and in her own words, was "subdued". Jay was his usual self, and you, dear listener, may decide whether that counts as a sickness or not.As we move beyond deciding whether Tice currently sounds more like Peter Brady or Pat Buttram, Jay shares his thoughts on the 3 most important abilities for working in theatre, and it's all very inspiring and wholesome until it turns into advice about 69. Tice comes out guns a-blazin' for "Frazz", a newspaper comic he finds very anti-inspiring. Even in her subdued state, Becca has reactions. For a game round, Jay hosts a round of zodiac trivia, and when our players rise above their mental and physical troubles, it gets ugly.

Episode 37: "Sensational!!", Raves James Lipton! (Guest: Ahmad Maaty)
In this episode, Becca puts on her Barbara Walters pants as she interviews her friend, actor Ahmad Maaty, who is commuting between New York City and the DMV area pursuing acting opportunities. Listen as Ahmad talks about his experiences performing in skits written by his dad, and then "Annie" and "Tommy" with Becca, as well as studying at the Actors Studio with James Lipton (including an amazing brush with Lipton himself!). Ahmad will also discuss challenges related to casting and race and appearance, support from his parents, playing evil characters, and which he prefers: Acting, singing, or dancing? As the episode draws to a close, Tice, Jay and Becca assist Ahmad in a round of Family Feud-style Fast Money. With the questions hand-picked by Jay, things get weird and keep on being weird even as the closing credits music rolls...and beyond.Instagram: @ahmadmaatyTwitter: @ahmadmaaty

Episode 36: "Mmmmmm!" (The Concubine Monologues); Guests: Katy Helper Jordan & Matt Jordan
This episode, local actors Matt Jordan and Katy Helper Jordan join us to discuss their acting experiences (Do you remember Matt's drunk driving PSA from the '90s? Can you get him a copy?), how they met, and their YouTube film review channel, Movies & Mischief with Matt & Katy. Come for Katy and Matt's banter; stay for their thoughts on "Every Breath You Take", "The Peanut Butter Falcon", "Ready or Not", "The Goldfinch", "No Remorse", Michael B. Jordan and more! And if you're here for the regular B2B gang: Jay floats a new catch phrase (to the revulsion of all present), Becca proposes a hypothetical baby name, and Tice delivers the most brilliant commentary on 1988's "The Great Outdoors" that Matthew has ever heard. All that plus concubines on episode 36 of Between Two Butts!

Episode 35: Hot Takes, Hot Tasers, Hot Porkchop Sandwiches 🥵 🥪
In this week's episode, we show we do not care who we alienate on Between Two Butts! Whether it's Tice the Levi Man exposing his butt crack to show off his label (sorry, audio only; you'll just have to trust us!) or Becca's fiancé Brian fingering the podcast, there is much potential to drive away listeners in the first 5 minutes! And it just escalates as Jay shares his Next Greatest Thing on The Inter-Webs; Brickleberry's Republican Jesus, an animation. Offensive enough on its own, but it leads each Between 2 Buttster to reveal their thoughts on Jesus. And tasers. Moving on to friendlier territory, the gang looks back on their favorite TV cartoons and Saturday morning fare, including Gummi Bears, Angry Beavers, Saved by the Bell, and, somehow, Gordon Jump's sinister guest turn on Diff'rent Strokes. Becca shares an overdubbed GI Joe safety message known simply as Pork Chop Sandwiches, whereas Tice recalls a particularly cheesy anti-drug ad from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and we do not mean cheesy as in pizza. After a quick exchange about coffee preferences, Tice brings in his finacée, Abbie, to play the classic Word-at-a-Time improv game Casanova! Does the Levi Man have what it takes to woo his own intended? Listen and find out...

Episode 34: Your Sexxy Aunnty; Special Guest Jonathan Fair
In an episode that is Absolute Fire, we hang out with Becca and Jay's long-time friend, local actor, producer, and drag queen Jonathan Fair, who is also the founder of Bright Beginnings Learning Academy. Jonathan shares some of his hilarious stories from his experiences in auditions and in theatre (including Reefer Madness and Avenue Q). He also describes his role in producing Dragalicious, a DMV-area drag show, and his thoughts on the art form of drag. And as if that weren't enough, he reprises the stories of Charlotte's Cousin and Ass Cakes (originally seen on his livestreams) and tells us about his early education work creating his own theatre schools in Northern Virginia. Jay also makes sure to give Jonathan due credit for many of his favorite catch-phrases on B2B, including "Fix it, Jesus!"As the episode progresses, Jonathan and Jay collaborate on a drag persona for Tice, to be known as Destiny Tissé. What form will Destiny take? That, and the results of another round of Fast Money, can only be learned by listening to this episode of Between Two Butts!

Episode 33: Where Weird Blob Kids Go; Guest: Leandra Lynn
Between 2 Butts comes back from a sabbatical fully vaccinated, recharged, reinvigorated, and busting 245 lb. squats at the gym...although Becca has lingering doubts about her pre-"paused" J & J shot. Jay bestows Tice (aka "the Producer" aka "the Professor" aka "the Reston Virginia Treat" aka "the Master of Old-Timey" aka "Rover/Wanderer/Nomad/Vagabond/Call Him What You Will") with yet another moniker for his intro. You'll have to listen to find out what it is; rest assured, it's complicated. This episode it's our pleasure to sit down with Leandra Lynn, managing director of Britches and Hose Theatre and host of the Rocky Horror Minute Podcast. We discuss Leandra's introduction to theatre (with its origins in Rocky Horror and tap-dance), her theater company, and her careers in shadow-casting, cosplay, and podcasting. On the Rocky Horror Minute podcast, Leandra (and co-host Kelly Hanson) devote each episode to exactly one minute of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, but on our podcast, Leandra finds herself in a game where even a minute is too long, the Family Feud Fast Money round! Talk about a Time Warp! Will she and Becca amass the coveted 200 points? Will Jay and Tice determine exactly what they win if they succeed? Tune in and find out!
