Butter Garlic Shrimp, Fumi's Kahuku Shrimp
On the North Shore of the island of Oahu in Hawaii there is a strip off the Kamehameha Highway thats lined with freshwater aquaculture farms embedded with delicious local grown shrimp. In between these farms you will find a variety of food trucks or stands dishing out these mouth watering shrimp in style. One in particular, Fumi's, makes an unbelievable version of Butter Garlic shrimp that puts me in daze every time I eat it. From the juicy and always cooked perfect shrimp to the loads of garlic used in each portion just makes that experience a whole lot better. Garbage Plate, Nick Tahou Hots
In this weeks episode I sit with my good friend, Marcelino Jaime, and we talk about the famed Garbage Plate from Rochester, NY. Buta Ramen, Yume Wo Katare
To kick off our first episode for Best Dish Ever!, I wanted to introduce a dish that I fell in love in with about 6 years ago when I was working up in Boston for a week. It was this little hole in the wall ramen spot in Cambridge called Yume Wo Katare. They had this delicious jiro-style ramen that set my tastebuds in a frenzy and once I heard about the philosophy and vision this place had, it made my experience one of a kind.
