06 - The Youtube Experiment
Today I would like to talk about something that I thought of doing for the past 3-4 years, but only really started in 2020. It's Youtube. If you remember from my first ever post on BenasDigital.com - one of the 3 income sources that I listed was Youtube. However, at the time I didn’t know what specific direction I want to take, but I think I have figured it out! 02 - The End of Amazon Affiliate Program?
Today I would like to talk about the Amazon affiliate program. As you probably heard by now, Amazon has cut down their commission again, but this time by as much as 70%! A lot of people rely on this as their primary or secondary source of income and losing more than half of your income overnight is very scary!

01 - How to Start a Business During a Global Pandemic?
Hey, Everyone! Welcome to the first-ever episode of Benas Digital Podcast. My name is Benas, but you can call me Ben and I am the founder, owner, marketer, content writer, graphics designer and everything in between for Benasdigital.com - my own personal space, where I share my journey of building a 300k/year business.Today is going to be an introduction, it is the first episode after all. But then we will discuss my precise goals, how I am planning to achieve them and now that we have a global pandemic, how is that going to impact, change or maybe even help me get started. But before that, let’s roll that sweet, sweet intro for the first time ever! How was that..? Personally, I love this intro! Props to the guy who did this amazing voiceover with all the effects and all.Either way, I started Benas Digital, alongside my other ventures at the beginning of 2020 and in March the whole world closed down…Isn’t that a perfect timing? When I was planning everything at the end of 2019 and then got to work in January, nobody could have predicted this pandemic just waiting to happen in the next few months.I guess this may make this whole challenge even more interesting, a business that was started in the middle of the crisis. Let’s hope I make it until the next year as I am kind of putting all of my eggs here. So, How do you start a business during a global pandemic? The answer is boring - exactly the same way you would if there wouldn’t be a pandemic. There are always going to be obstacles, events that you cannot predict, but that’s part of the equation - there is always the unknown. The real question is how you deal with this uncertainty. This crisis or pandemic is currently stirring things up and you need to adapt. I am already adjusting my own business to fit the current market. More on this a bit later.Who am I? Let’s run through my history a little. The past I started my first ever project back in 2013 I got my first freelancing gig in 2014, which turned out to be a bigger and more important project in my life than I ever could have anticipated. I started to properly freelance with a variety of clients in digital marketing in 2015. Shifted focus solely on SEO in 2016 and continued to freelance from thereon. In the same year of 2016, I launched the first affiliate marketing website with a friend that we have sold after a year for a nice profit. (2017) I started a new affiliate website on my own which I sold for than $14,000 after 2 years. I joined Upwork in 2018 and over a few years managed to earn more than $50,000. Conclusion: 6-7 years in the online marketing space. The presentCurrently, I am an SEO expert and have clients that I optimize websites for and actually, this is what drove me to create something on my own. In 2019 I started to get really tired of seeing people benefiting greatly from my work. Yes, I did get paid, but they received a lot better deal. Seeing all of this organic traffic floating around, many keyword opportunities, I couldn’t take it and saw that the only way to move forward is to create a business on my own. I believe I have enough skills to get this whole thing going. The FutureGoal Create a $300,000/year or $25,000/month business in 4 year (until 2024) I don’t want an easy goal. 300k/year is basically 6 times more than I made in 2019, which makes this a tough goal, but not too high like a billion dollars which would be too far fetched. Keeping it real. I love nice round numbers and not a lot of numbers divide nicely by 12, but 300 does, which also makes a nice round 25k/month. I feel that this is the amount that will set me up for the rest of my life. Earning this much continuously will provide for my family (all of it), will secure the future for my future children, no worries about the pension and I will be able to enjoy life to its fullest. Businesses Affiliate marketing website (authority website) Not yet ready to reveal the niche, but the website is already live and I should see some traffic coming in the next few months. I will write a blog post update about that. The business model is pretty simple, but this time I want to make things a little different than my previous affiliate sites. This one I am taking seriously, investing a lot and actually carrying about all the little details. I am looking at this a business and not some side project. I want this to become my main thing and have the highest hopes. To be honest, I think this alone will help me reach up to 80% of my goal. This blog (benasdigital.com) Let’s talk about benasdigital.com - the website from where you probably found this podcast. Eventually, I do see this site earning some side income from affiliate links, products that I used or believe in and similar things. I am definitely not planning any annoying pop-ads or anything like that. This site was mainly created because I do enjoy writing and talking about businesses and websites + it gives me some accountability. However, this is not the priority right now and I think it will evolve organically, but after a few years, it would be nice to see this one making enough money to cover my rent or monthly groceries. Youtube channel Yeah, I do have one, but it’s a bit of a mess right now. I did make quite a lot of videos this year but haven’t really found my “style” or what particular topics I want to film or cover. Still trying to figure this out. I am still including youtube on this list as I do believe that in 4 years’ time, with consistently uploading, the channel will get monetized and will start making some side income. A couple of thousand dollars per month would be more than enough from this almost hobby and it would bring me closer to my end goal of 25k/month. So that’s my plan and it’s only year 1 or even month 4 of this whole journey. I did count that there are still 45 months until I am 30, so I have to use this time wisely and set myself up for the next part of my life.I guess I’ll end here, but before you go - send me an email! I would love to hear from you and get to know the people that are listening to this podcast.Send your questions, feedback, requests or just say hi!If you enjoyed this podcast, it would be a great help if you could leave a review on wherever you are listening. I will read out those reviews in the next episode, so please be sure to leave them right after you are done listening.Okay, that’s it from me, thanks for listening!
