003 - Phil M Jones - Stop Doing Your Best
'I did my best' is a phrase that often follows failure, but doesn't actually do anything to help us develop. We're in conversation with Phil M Jones, discussing his experience in the world of business, and how managing our use of language can have a profound impact on our success.
Phil Bio:
Phil started in business aged just 14. Starting out on his own, he quickly grew his business to the point he had to employ a number of his peers - he was earning more than his teachers within a year setting up.
By age 18, Phil was hired by Debenhams as Sales Manager, becoming the youngest Sales Manager in the company's history.
He continued to grow his career, going on to work with a number of Premier League Football Clubs brokering sponsorship and licensing agreements, then co-developing a £240m property business.
Phil then decided to turn his knowledge and abilities to helping others succeed as he had.
He took everything he'd accrued in sales from his career, and created a workshop, where he trained over 2,500 people in his first year, then licensing his training to the UK, Switzerland, Australia and New Zealand.
