A slow movie weekend can't stop the BTSD train from rolling through, with discussion of The Artist, Shame, and My Week With Marilyn! We intended it to be an hour long but couldn't restrain ourselves!

It's time to take a walk on the Immortals side of the fence! It was alright, but probably not as good as Jack & Jill, according to Alex! Exclamation points are exhausting, but then, two and a half hours of J. Edgar wasn't exactly refreshing, either! Oh, and Walking Dead chat (which is at the end of the podcast this time to help you guys avoid spoilers if you wish).

Rorie and Alex wax philosophic about The Walking Dead season premiere (some spoilers that end around 22:30!), the Oscar-caliber Footloose, the disappointing The Thing, great actors in bad movies, the Avengers trailer, and much, much more!

Alex and Rorie are unusually upbeat considering the crappy weekend it was for films! We talk about Colombiana, Don't Be Afraid, Our Idiot Brother, but there are tangents ahoy! 80's wrestling! Does Zoe Saldana need a better agent? What movie do you hate that everyone else loves? Are new podcast segments on the horizon? What does God need with a starship?

Rorie and Alex break down all aspects of Comic-Con! Rorie talks about the many highs and many lows of staying in a big-ass conference room for like 20 hours total, while Alex breaks out his opinions on Captain America (yay!) and Friends with Benefits (...another yay!). Listen, love, and learn.

Rorie gets saved at the last minute from another Solocast by the fortuitous appearance of a Wild Dave Snider, who's here to talk about why he walked out of The Hangover II! Dave eventually has to go home, though, leading Rorie to tackle one Joey Fameli and drag him into the podcast studio for a bit of a Q&A! It's a short podcast for a long person. I don't even know what that means.

Ryan and Matt wax philosophic about Pirates of the Caribbean, whether or not 3D is hurting the box office take, trailers that Ryan hasn't seen, film noir, Bane, and a bunch of other stuff that probably made a lot more sense when we were talking about it!

Tony and Sara drop by for a discussion of THORRRR! We try not to spoil anything, but if you're interested in skipping that discussion, head to around the 29:12 mark, wherein Rorie starts talking about the San Francisco International Film Festival, Dylan Dog, and sundry other items! It's a rambling mess!

We're post-sick (well, Alex is--Rorie's still near death) and pre-travel here at Screened, with each of us on the verge of flying east to various conventions. So forgive us if we're a little harried (and stuffy) today as we run down last week's big movies, discuss the current 3D climate, talk about the latest news, and take your questions as always. I promise that if Rorie isn't healthy by next week, I'll hold him down and inject him full of drugs. Not necessarily flu meds, or anything. Just drugs.

The last podcast of September finds us looking back on a week that saw the return of Gordon Gekko, owl-on-owl violence, and some kind of "Event." And yet, Rorie and Alex find themselves strangely nonplussed by all of it. Still, we wring some good discussion out of the latest films, the newest shows, and your user questions, of which there are some good 'uns this week. Just don't mind Alex's inability to remember any of them. This 30 Days of Hate thing? It's left him somewhere close to lobotomized.

The fall premiere season is descending upon us like a metric ton of bricks from skyscraper heights, and Rorie and Alex couldn't be more indifferent to the bulk of this season's new offerings. That, of course, doesn't stop us from talking at LENGTH about some of the biggest new shows, as well as recent film releases like The Town, Devil, Easy A, Alpha and Omega, and more!

You may get more than your agreed-to share of Modok references this week, but dammit, this podcast is still all about new movies, new TV, and tangential nonsense, just the way you like it.
