We know it's been a while since we've post a BrewCast. We've been preoccupied. We finally had a moment where we could sit down and actually film something. Rincon opened up a second location in Ventura, California, and we take a visit. We review one of their flagships, Dos Arboles Pilsner. It’s fall. The leaves are turning, the air is crisp, and farmers are harvesting the fruits of their labor. This also means it’s time for the marzen style brews, including pumpkin flavors. This is nothing new. Pumpkin has been used in brews for years. It’s been a while since we’ve reviewed any so we thought we’d do a BrewCast on a couple from of this year’s pumpkin patch. We check out Firestone Walker's Old Man Hattan. It's a barrel-aged mashup of two classic cocktails; the Old Fashioned and the Manhattan. From their website, "This inaugural Proprietor's Vintage release features a blend of five notable Firestone Walker beers, including select lots of Parabola and Helldorado aged in cherry, orange and aromatic bitters barrels. " It was originally a Black Friday release available only at the brewery, but was popular enough to become a limited release in their Vintage series. Poseidon is a small brewery out of Ventura, California, that we visited while we were out there. We review their Bubblehead Blood Orange IPA. The unfortunate thing about beer from LTD Brewing is the fact that it is Limited, and may never be reproduced again. Tropical Passion Milkshake IPA is no exception. This beer is, however, exceptional. Mythos is a Greek produced pilsner lager "with a rich foam, bright blonde color and a pleasant, refreshing taste. Mythos is brewed from the finest varieties of barley and hops, ensure maximum enjoyment in every sip", according to their website. However, the Beer Guys haven't reviewed it, until now. Beer Guy and Gal, Greg and Carol, visited the southeast; Atlanta, Georgia to be exact, earlier this year. In that visit, they also visited Torched Hop Brewery. This visit prompted them to bring back a growler of a dark, syrupy stout named Harmonious for us to review. Starry Eyed Brewing is a relatively new brewery opening in the spring of 2017 in Little Falls, Minnesota. We stopped in and were pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere and quality of beer.
