Awakening with Sander Stenderup
Here's something that is exclusive to this very podcast. It's a song. A song with a difference. I had a recent connection with a singer songwriter from Copenhagen. His name is Sander Stenderup and he writes spiritual songs. This particular song is called Awakening. The original version is melodic, with very few lyrics. Anyhow, we decided to work on blending meditative spoken word with this particular song, Awakening. And, we came up with the following.

We move into a mini guided reflection, before finishing off with a final section for potentially taking action. Another podcast to help us to be part of the positive change that's going on. It just depends where we focus our attention.

She Believed Her Mind
Welcome back to this podcast series. The focus here is on a make believe case study of someone called Melanie. She believes that she is a bad person because of the thoughts she is experiencing. We thought we'd share it with you as we've had lots of people contact us and saying how helpful it is. Being part of the change can sometimes involve learning about the way our minds work, as well as getting a bit of distance from the judgements that they give us. We hope this podcasts helps you with both.

When Times Are Tough - Pt 2
This podcast is specifically for when times are tough. There will be a reflective theme running through this special podcast as you tune into the words. In this part, part 2, there is also include a practice of relaxation in the service of working with resistance and contraction. From there, it moves into a breathing technique which Reuben calls 'The Push'. This is to soothe the nervous system. The idea here, with these following insights is to take more perspective on this tough time. This is in the service of releasing any resistance and contraction that is not serving your well-being.

Gratitude: The Power of 20 Seconds
We’re going to explore a little neuroscience on the practice of gratitude and why 20 seconds is so relevant for the intention we bring to some of the things we are grateful for. Gratitude involves noticing the goodness in other people and the outside world. We know the brain changes with experience, so the more that gratitude is practiced, the more the brain grows and learns to tune in to the good things in the world. It’s now very well established and replicated many times over that a practice of gratitude is associated with better mood, better sleep, less fatigue as well as some physical health benefits. Let's do this!

She Broke Up With Him
This is a random make believe case study about a girl who eventually breaks up with her partner because he tries to control her. This was chosen because controlling relationships are so common in our everyday lives. Sally is in a controlling relationship with her boyfriend, Sam. She eventually gains the power to break up with her partner. Reuben talks us through the process of exactly what is happening between them both. We get to explore the reasons why we get caught up in unhelpful patterns of behaviour in controlling relationships, and with insight, how this can help us break out of them and back into a life of freedom.

See if you can go through this as though you are going to teach this to another person that needs it.
