It's a very special BATMAN:AND this week as we mark the conclusion of the Batman TV series. 120 episodes are a lot of BIFFs, BAMs, and POWs. Dan, Nick, and Fiona not only go deep in discussing the final two episodes, but they take some time to consider the series as a whole - the highlights, the many, many lowlights, and much more. 

King Tut is back - for the very last time. ALSO, The Joker is back - for the very last time. Join us as we wind down the Batman TV show on this, the second last episode of the BATMANLAND podcast. Dan and Nick discuss episodes that has King Tut discovering the location of the Bat Cave, while The Joker builds and flies a UFO. It's one heck of a pair of episodes.

Welcome to BATMANLAND, a frank, honest discussion of the 1960s Batman TV show. This week we look at an episode that looks at the subject of feminism through what can only politely be referred to as a 1968 lens and fails badly at it. Dan and Nick try to get a handle on what the show thought it was doing. They then go on to discuss a much better episode showing the return of (and final appearance of) The Penguin.

As we close in on the final episodes of Batman, we are also saying goodbye to some of our favourite characters - like with this week as we see the final episode to feature Catwoman. Eartha Kitt as Catwoman has been fascinating from a 2018 perspective as we see how the treatment of the Catwoman character has changed with the recasting of the role with the African American actress. 1968 wasn't as progressive as we might have liked to have seen, here at BATMANLAND. Also this week, the return of Milton Berle as Louie The Lilac.

Look kids, BATMANLAND is all about context and working through the complicated cultural mire that was the 1966 Batman TV show.The show was weird - for example this week we are seeing an episode that was written to be the 2nd episode of a 3-part storyline, but reconstructed to work as an individual episode. So, Dan and Nick try to explain how they did this... and along the way get distracted by talking about The Odd Couple, Simon & Garfunkel, and more. They also discuss part one of a Joker/Catwoman team-up and try to bring some sense to it all.

It's another purr-fect outing for Batman and Robin this week with the two wrapping up in merry old Londonium fighting the mother from Mary Poppins before returning to Gotham for Eartha Kitt's debut as Catwoman. On BATMANLAND, Dan and Nick do their gosh-darn best analytical work in breaking down this week's thrilling chapters in the ongoing story of a wealthy billionaire who enjoys the feeling of wearing tights.

Cor blimey, Governor! Batman and Robin have left Gotham for merry olde England, or more specifically, the city of Londinium. They're a reverse British Invasion where they discover just how different life is across the pond - people drive on the other side of the road and they're all obsessed with fog. This week on BATMANLAND, Dan and Nick explore this brave new world the Caped Crusaders find them in. PLUS: Dan does some bat-journalism and reports from a Batman-themed wedding held in a comic book shop.

Down at Gotham Point The Joker wants to win a surf contest and then challenges Batman to a surf competition! Surfs up on this week's BATMANLAND podcast with Dan and Fiona!

It's an eggstremely epic Batman this week with Batman and Robin joined by Batgirl as they face off against the eggcentric villain Egghead and Olga, the Queen of Cossacks. The heroes also face off against the patron saint of BDE Milton Berle for a battle over who wields the most power in Gotham. 

Steady yourself for another informative chat about the 1960s Batman TV show with Dan and Nick dissecting all of the trivia and cultural oddities from this week's featured episodes 'A Horse of Another Color', concluding last week's Penguin and Lola Lasagne (Ethel Merman) storyline, followed by the return of King Tut in 'The Unkindest Tut of All'. 

Joan Collins guest stars this week as The Siren. That's right, this is Joan Collins vs Batman! This is followed by the return of Burgess Meredith as The Penguin w/ stage legend Ethel Merman as the oddly named super villain Lola Lasagne. That's some serious star wattage! Dan and Nick discuss these curious episodes, delving in deep. Well, BATMANLAND deep.

Batgirl joins the dynamic duo to keep Gotham safe from evil in this week's episode. In her secret identity as Barbara Gordon, daughter of the Police Commissioner, she is kidnapped by The Penguin. Little does he realise who he has really kidnapped. And Batman & Robin? She barely even needs them in this episode because she's THAT GOOD!

The villainous scourge of ducted heating Mister Freeze is back in Gotham with help from renowned ice skating 'legend' Glacia Glaze. He issues an ultimatum that he will begin freezing the entire country if his demands are not met. The cad. Discussing these episodes are Dan and Nick, joined by comic book reviewer Chris Neill. 

When the Joker launches art classes, Batman and Robin find themselves entering the seedy world of modern art. On BATMANLAND, Dan and guest co-host Andrew Mercado explore the episode at depth, discussing Cesar Romero's moustache, inspirations for the 1989 Batman film, and disappointing Batman casting. 

Gotham's most fearsome villain The Black Widow strikes, robbing the city's banks in alphabetical order. As Dan and Nick discuss the show on this week's episode, they marvel at how toothless Black Widow is as a villain, that the show must have been thrilled to have guest Tallulah Bankhead guest starring, and that the show did revel in casting older guest stars.

When a pot plant falls on a professors noggin', he takes on the identity of feared super villain King Tut. Batman & Robin take to the streets of Gotham to catch him. For the BATMANLAND podcast, Nick and Dan have some very strong feelings on this episode - especially surrounding Bruce's interest in his date Lisa's "milk and cookies".

Do you remember that time Bruce Lee was in the Batman TV show? It was more than a blink and you'll miss it moment. In a cross-over with the 60s Green Hornet TV series, Lee appears as the hero's assistant Kato. In this week's BATMANLAND, Dan and Nick explore what the Green Hornet even was and question why Lee was so under-used on screen.

Catwoman turns her life around. Out on parole, she enrols at Gotham University and riles up the students. Just a few days into her undergrad degree and she's staging protest rally's and staging pranks from a sorority house. On BATMANLAND this week, Dan, Nick, and Haidee don their togas to discuss this animal house.
