Pastor Ehrich asks, God calls us to love, but do we understand the sacrifice that requires? God calls us to love always and love those we don't think deserve His love. In order to share the Love of God we have to reflect Him to a broken world.

The sin and brokenness in our world breaks the heart of God. Your sin breaks the heart of God. Does your sin break your own heart? Do the things that break God's heart break yours?

Rediscover prayer as more than a therapeutic outlet but instead as a transforming intimacy that changes the way we think, feel, act, and react. Rather than praying against the darkness we are wise to instead seek a greater experience of the life and light of Jesus Christ. Light always decimates darkness. As prayer changes us, we become more radiant and powerful agents of the light of the gospel.

We compare things everyday. We compare bids for projects and try to choose the best benefit for the cost. We compare our marriages to other marriages, our homes, yards, style etc... we need to stop comparing the wrong things and embrace that we are God’s Masterpiece. He has created you and equipped you with everything you need to fulfill His purpose in your life.

"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." -Hebrews 11:6

God has promised to provide for us, but it doesn't often come in the way we expect it. Pastor Elliott examines how God provided for Israel in Exodus 16 and how that can apply to our lives today.

This week, we will learn one of Paul’s secrets to finding peace and contentment in life. "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near." -Phil. 4:4-5 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present, your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6-7

Where you choose to sit affects you and the people around you and did you know Christ has a seat saved just for you! Ephesians 2:6-9 (NIV) - And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. Revelation 3:21 (NIV) - To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

How do you know if your faith is as strong as you think it is? Paul reminds us in Philippians 3:13-14, "Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." Spiritual Complacency can creep up on us quickly, so we have to choose Christ daily and strain (work, effort) toward what is ahead of us and not let the past hinder what God has for us now. Because if you’re not dead you’re not done. To regain a vibrant faith, we need to spend time with God: read His Word, record and reflect on it, respond to it, and repeat what you've learned by telling others.

VIEWPOINT Week 2 of Philippians.  We mentioned last week in part 1, that Paul refers to the word joy or rejoice 19 times in this letter to Philippi and two things matter: People matter and Eternity matters.   This week as we look at some highlights from chapter 2, we’ll see another word, (think, remember, attitude and like-minded), Paul used in this letter frequently (16 times).  What we will discover in Chapter 2 is; if we think like Jesus thought, you’ll live like Jesus lived and we will discover that our joy isn’t based on what happens to me, but what God is doing in me and through me.
