Well, before the Giants got postponed due to a COVID 19 diagnosis they were in the midst of a playoff push. Gabe Kapler seemingly is finding a groove and pushing the right buttons and this team is fun as hell! They are making the rebuild enjoyable which is all you can really ask for.The 49ers kickoff on Sunday against the Cardinals and Tony I discuss the upcoming season and how it may go for the 9ers in the division as well as the conference. Who are their biggest threats and who may bubble up for the playoffs? After discussing the NFC overall we conclude with a healthy debate about the merits of Matt Ryan. Tony thinks he's a hall of famer and I say no.

Anthony and I discuss some of the headlines around the sports world in the past week or two. We kick off with the biggest news of the day, Patrick Mahomes signing his record shattering contract, some of the potential ripples around the league including Dak and Deshaun and how this deal may impact their contracts. We discuss it on a local note as well with George Kittle (14:40) and how this contract concerns me about a deal getting done for him in SF. Cam arrives in New England (23:10). I'm skeptical that it'll work out, but the Patriots get the benefit of the doubt. They still have roster concerns and lack playmakers, but if it works he will quiet a lot of the doubters.MLB having issues getting their testing structure implemented (30:15). It's a tired act as they keep getting in their own way. Clubs have been forced to close camps until results can be given. If they can ever just make it to the season it should be a compelling product, but that remains to be seen at this point.We close with some potential name changes in Washington & Cleveland (41:15). Washington is compelling here because it's been a long time coming and it's exciting to see what they will come up with. We cut the convo a little short as it got a bit crazy at the end of show, but we hope you enjoy it.

MLB has a problem and everyone is guilty. From ownership, to the commissioner, to the head of the MLBPA and even the players. No one wants to actually stand up for the game and do what's best for the sport. They just want to keep fighting about money. And yes, I was wrong on this one - my optimism about the sport resuming is gone. To be honest at this point, after all this nonsense back and forth I hope they don't play. If the people in charge of the game don't care if the game dies then why should I or anyone else. RIP Baseball.

Anthony and I discuss the impending return of the NBA and MLB (22:35).  What the proposed scenarios look like and the likelihood that they will successfully return. Needless to say there is a bit more optimism for NBA right now than there is MLB. But even the fact that return to play scenarios are being discussed is a good thing. There is a light starting to shine at the end of the tunnel. Sports are coming back! Close with a  tip of the cap to the NHL(42:15) for handling their business quietly and succinctly. 

Anthony and I discuss the newly released 2020 schedule for the 49ers in detail. We highlight the games we think they should win as well possible matchups that could prove trickier than they appear at first glance. We close the show by talking about some of the  non 49er matchups that we are looking forward to and use the schedule to discuss the NFL overall and discuss certain storylines and topics that could show themselves in 2020.
