S3:E15 - "Interview w/Former NBA Player, Chris Childs"
Olympic: - Men’s National Team Basketball - Simone Biles Mental Health NFL: - Aaron Rodgers - Will Watson be traded before the season? NBA: - Draft and trades… Christopher Childs’ Bio: Childs played his high school basketball at Foothill High School (Bakersfield, CA) and starred at Boise State University in the late 1980s. Childs was the Big Sky Conference Player of the Year in 1989. Despite his collegiate success, Childs went undrafted in the 1989 NBA Draft and began his professional career in the Continental Basketball Association. He played for three different teams in his first three seasons in the league but eventually found a home with the Quad City Thunder. With the Thunder, Childs won a league title and the Continental Basketball Association MVP award in 1994 after averaging 17.9 points and 7.6 assists. According to Quad City Thunder owner Anne Potter DeLong's obituary on QCOnline, Childs struggled with alcoholism during his time in the Continental Basketball Association. Childs went to DeLong for help at which point she called former NBA player George Gervin who facilitated Childs' admittance to a rehab facility in Houston, Texas. The clinic was run by retired NBA player John Lucas II. NBA career Childs' success in the minor leagues proved to be his ticket to the NBA, as he signed with the New Jersey Nets prior to the start of the 1994–95 NBA season. He spent his first two seasons with the Nets, and averaged an NBA career-high 12.8 points in 1995-96. However, Childs was perhaps best remembered for his five-year (1996–2001) tenure with the New York Knicks, who relied on his tight defense and streaky three-point shooting ability during their perennial runs to the NBA Playoffs. It was during this time that Childs helped lead the New York Knicks to the NBA Eastern Conference championship in 1999. He led the team in assists (6.1 per game) as a starter during the 1996-97 season, and was a valuable contributor off the bench during his next four years with the team. A visible figure in the New York media, he also represented the Knicks on the 1998-99 NBA All-Interview Team and won the New York Press Photographers Association's 2000 "Good Guy Award" for his involvement with several charities and youth basketball programs. On April 2, 2000 he had a fight with Kobe Bryant in the late 3rd quarter. The Fight has been deemed to show the toughness of The Knicks during that era. At 4 inches shorter than Bryant, Childs punched him from the chin into his throat. Childs was ejected from the game. The Knicks did not win the game. In February 2001, Childs was traded to the Toronto Raptors for Mark Jackson and Muggsy Bogues, with whom he played for one-and-a-half seasons before rejoining the Nets in 2002. He retired after the 2002-03 season. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/arguingbrothers/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/arguingbrothers/support

He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from Alabama State University and an MBA from Troy University. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Orlando was raised in the shadow of Tiger Stadium, The Palace of Auburn Hills, and Ford Field. Growing up in such a rich sports environment gave Orlando a passion for sports early on. After participating in athletics all through high school and college, Orlando set his sights on a new challenge. The corporate world. The discipline and determination he’d cultivated over the years paid off well in his early years as a sales agent in the hospitality industry. It was here that Orlando learned the inner workings of contracts, negotiation, and marketing. After 5 years, Orlando set his sights on a slightly different challenge and stepped into the fast paced world of pharmaceutical sales. Excelling in this role, Orlando was able to refine his marketing and sales skills and led a high performing team. Throughout this time, though, Orlando never lost his passion for athletics. Shortly after graduating from Alabama State University, Orlando began working in coaching and player development in addition to his corporate career. To this end, he was successful. Orlando used his experience and talent to nurture and develop the skills of young athletes. A consummate and caring professional, Orlando helped 14 of these young athletes move on to the next level in their athletic journey, cultivating relationships with various coaches and athletic personnel along the way. Although he was raised in the northern Midwest, Orlando has spent nearly the last 15 years in the Southeast. Orlando played his college ball in the Southeast, received his degrees in the southeast, and met his wife there as well. He’s planted a firm foundation with his family and Pyramid Sports & Entertainment Group in the southeast and is prepared to help you reach the pinnacle of success. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/arguingbrothers/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/arguingbrothers/support

*We do not own the rights to the music* NFL: If Rodgers is traded, what time would be best fit? Thoughts on no HBCU players drafted? NBA: Chance of the lakers winning the championship? - Save 2 NBA questions for Kevin What are thoughts on what Russell Westbrook is doing? Who is your favorite player in NBA? Kevin Harris Bio: Kevin Harris was born in Washington, D.C. He gained a passion for the game of basketball, a competitive edge, and desire to improve from pick up basketball games on various courts at playgrounds throughout the city. His desire to excel drove him to work hard on and off the basketball court, which led to a scholarship to a prep school, Mercersburg Academy. During Kevin’s four years at Mercersburg Academy, he was able to attain several honors such as 4-Year Basketball Letterman, Basketball Team Captain, and the Athletic Director’s Award. Mercersburg proved to be a valuable experience because Kevin was able to develop athletically through the accessibility of the school’s gym for him to practice by himself for hours and improve his basketball skills. Also, the school benefited him academically through the rigorous curriculum preparing him for the demands of college academics. Kevin graduated from Mercersburg and went to Troy State University where he red-shirted for one year and transferred to Lurleen B. Wallace Junior College the following year. Kevin continued in his pursuit of excellence on and off the basketball court at Lurleen B. Wallace earning honors such as an Associate’s Degree, making the Dean’s List, getting named team captain, and being ranked as one of the top point guards in the county. Kevin’s performance on the basketball court at Lurleen B. Wallace led to a full basketball scholarship at Alabama State University. While at Alabama State University Kevin made the Dean’s List for three years, got elected 1st Team Arthur Ashe Student Athlete Scholar, earned an award for Highest G.P.A. for Male Athlete, was elected USAA Academic All-American, received his B.A. in Business Management, earned the Coach’s Award, and became team captain. In addition, the team won the regular season and tournament SWAC (Southwestern Athletic Conference) Championships and earned a 1st Round NCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball Tournament berth for the first time in school history during Kevin’s years as a player there. After graduating from Alabama State Kevin went on to pursue his dreams as a professional basketball player. He ended up playing for the Dakota Wizards and trying out for the Washington Wizards. Eventually, he started The House of Hoops, which would be later named Hoop Life, Inc. While operating Hoop Life Kevin has trained many players and coached at many high schools such as T.C. Williams, Bishop Ireton, Mt. Vernon, and ISA.
