If you don't read this apocalypse without the thought stirring within you about the reality of this impending day of judgment, then you will not be stirred to treat the Bible seriously. You should not rest now because the hour of harvest is coming when the faithful will have rest. 

Where does the power come from to make all things new? It's the power of the resurrection which Paul masterfully explains in 1 Corinthians 15.

Your belief about the end times will manifest in your behavior. Paul wanted to provide comfort to the Thessalonians, but he also knew they needed to be compelled to work for the night is coming.

While worship is often publicly expressed, it originates in the heart. We often struggle with the secret worship of something, anything other than God. You can guard your worship by recognizing your hidden intentions to be like God. 

Once the woman at the well knew about the gift and the Giver, her life was forever changed. 

It can be easy to give a token investment to the mission of reaching the world with the gospel, but to be totally involved is truly our calling. 

Imagine living with such strong anticipation of Christ's return, you are troubled whether those who die before His return have missed out on the blessed hope. Paul offers a comforting and confident hope for this young church. 

Your life is extremely significant and you must awake and walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time because the days are evil. You should wake up because there's a war going on!

Pleasing ourselves makes us feel empty and pointless. These would be characteristics of the Thessalonians who were erring on the side of moral compromise in these areas. In order to disrupt the community via faith we must embody the principles of Paul's exemplary ministry by walking in sanctification and sincerity.

As most of these studies, you are on either side of two receiving ends of these messages, but more so in this passage. The news of Christ's domination will either be sweet or bitter. The message of His reign will either be a testimony or a torment. You should celebrate the King's arrival because He shall reign forever and ever. 

Paul rejoiced to hear of their unwavering steadfastness in the midst of their trials and responded in unceasing supplication for these new believers.

You should hallow God's name in your life because this is the only way to eliminate the evil lurking in your heart.

Since God's ultimate plan of recreating Heaven and Earth in unity is not a present reality, where do those who have died go now? Paul says we should not sorrow as others who have no hope, but many people have not taken time to understand what Scripture states about life after life now. You can appreciate the tender care God provides for the dearly departed saints.

The sincerity of the messenger is necessary for the reception of the message, but the power to transform lives is found in the message. While describing the ministry of the word in the hearts of the Thessalonians, we learn that the power rests in the faithfully preaching of the truth.

We can be intimidated by the sheer force of the world. It beckons us. It cajoles us. It smashes us. If these 144,000 can remain faithful during the darkest days of human history and if they can see an innumerable host won by the gospel, then we must remain faithful unto death. You can stand before the throne by participating in Operation Hope.

In order to prepare our minds for the full disclosure of the New Heaven and the New Earth, we need to be familiar with God's agenda from the Fall to Full Redemption. God's divine initiative has been to reunite Heaven and Earth eternally. You can find comfort by recognizing the reality of Heaven and the shadow of Earth. 

You need to assimilate these qualities in order to have a ministry which disrupts the culture.
